Poor durability & shocking technical support


Poor durability & shocking technical support
Product (Resmed Airsense 10 Elite) performance is excellent, but durability is poor. Fan motor became very noise after only 30 months of use.
Device was purchased from official distributor abroad and I relocated to the UK 18 months ago. When I approached the Resmed UK for help with the faulty device, I was fobbed me off being informed "we are unable to inspect a device purchased outside the UK"
After I provided proof that the device was purchased from an authorised reseller I was informed the manufacturers warranty period for the device has expired. I was offered "as a gesture of goodwill", Resmed UK would "arrange an out-of-warranty inspection" at a cost of £75.
Resmed UK Tech support took a full 2 weeks to provide a final "offer" - a CPAP device is an essential part of chronic treatment for OSA and snoring.
Surely an international "premium" brand (based on on the premium pricing of the device) should provide better customer service. I plan to take my custom elsewhere.

Poor design, good customer service

Good customer service let down by poorly designed products.
ResMed 11 has a breathing tube that isn’t on a spinner so the hose manoeuvrability is very poor. (unlike ResMed 10), why do an “upgrade “ which has less functionality than its predecessor? Similarly, the water tank is smaller and spills constantly, and its metal heat pad is such poor quality metal that the first time you wash it, it scratches everywhere. I’m in a hard water area and the water tank has to be cleaned every night- the tank is full of nooks and crannies where you can’t remove calcium deposits. For the price of installing a decent metal heater pad it must cost around pennies per machine.
I’ve tried six different masks, none fit very well. The head straps need an additional cover to fit properly available for £10 on Amazon, but you shouldn’t have to buy them extra for such an expensive machine.
The customer service is excellent, the product design team needs to ask the end users what actually works.

Mask scam

I bought a nasal mask ,silicon advertised for $69, right beside was the same mask memory foam ,69 for 3 or 29.for 1,. Nothing indicated the silicon of 69 was one . I have bright this to Resmed attention it is badand misleading advertising ,only to be met with nothing but tun around. Loyal customer of nearly 10 years now I will buy from sites in China ,shame on you Resmed

Worse mask ever the Resmed N30I

I bought the N30i mask and I’m sorry to say I paid £150 for this terrible mask. It leaks pressure the head gear is useless keeps riding up at the back know matter how tight just a terrible mask. If you don’t want to waste your money avoid.

I have been trying to lose weight for awhile, and had a family member recommend ResMed to me and I have lost 34 pounds so far, if ever I have questions or need support that are always there for me. If you’re serious about losing weight this is a good option.

Resmed AirMini

I have two machines. The Resmed 11 is great.
I bought an AirMini to travel. When you are out of your Timezone the AirMini does not show the correct hours it has been used at all. I contacted Resmed, and they said that was normal. For a machine designed specifically for travel!!!
It did update correctly when I got home, but, if you are staying overseas, the details that doctors need is not correct. This is extremely poor. I would not buy the AirMini if you need to report usage whilst overseas. What a ridiculous oversight.

Confusing Service

I came into the Aspley store with my mom to get a trial machine. One of the staff served us — she mentioned she used to be a nurse, which sounded reassuring, but she insisted the pressure prescribed by Mom’s doctor was too high and set it differently based on her own opinion. She said she’d let the doctor know about the change, but our specialist wasn’t happy with this at all. It’s left us really confused, especially my mom, and it doesn’t feel right that the settings were changed without the doctor’s approval.

Angel has assisted with the Purchase of 3 Machines this year and has patiently worked through our issues with Mask Leakage.
Angel has reached out to ensure that our Stats have been working out and has continued to help us resolve any issues.
Angel is worth her weight in Gold at Resmed Aspley store.

I ordered a chin strap being newly…

I ordered a chin strap being newly diagnosed with sleep apnea. It turned out to be the wrong size not worn just tried on. I spent $1700 on a Resmed Cpap set up and they would not refund for the chin strap. What does that say about service to their customers. Terrible customer service. Unless you know exactly what you want and size don't order from them you will just be left out of pocket. I wasn't even asking for a refund and offered for them to swap it for filters. They are an absolutely unnacommadating company dont't order from them.

Angel also has very patiently continued to help me resolve any issues and provide good tips on the best way to use my Sleep Apnea machine and mask effectively to get a good nights sleep.

The maintenance time for AirSense 10 is…

The maintenance time for AirSense 10 is now at least 8 weeks. This is most unsatisfactory. I am travelling overseas for 3 months shortly, and I had incorrectly assumed that submitting the device for maintenance 2.5 months before departure would be comfortably sufficient. My experience of ResMed servicing and maintenance has been similar for the past three years, although in this case, it has been 7 weeks to date without any adequate reason for the delay. It is the lengthiest period to date. It suggests that ResMed has made a management decision - it intends its customers to purchase new products rather than have existing ones maintained, hence the clear lack of resourcing for maintenance. I have read that the AirSense 11 has a higher decibel level than the 10 model, so I prefer to retain the earlier model.

ResMed at Milton (now the Barracks)

ResMed at Milton (now the Barracks), Brisbane was my first choice for supplying my CPAP therapy needs when I commenced therapy in January 2018. From this time, the customer care and support I have continued to receive from all the staff at this store, over time, could not be faulted. Their advice provided me with the essential knowledge to apply to receive the full benefits of CPAP therapy - and, in turn, to effectively transform my sleep pattern. In this regard, I would like to especially acknowledge two staff members for their customer care and support at 10/10: Michelle Lakin and Stephanie Demarco.

Is there a negative star option?

Is there a negative star option?! I chatted to someone via the online chat. Based on the information I was given, made changes to my account. I was then told, that they had made a mistake and if I wanted to continue I would have to pay more money. I've tried to contact them multiple times but have had no response. They have very little care for their customers, money is all that matters. Avoid buying direct from ResMed. Go somewhere local that actually knows how to treat customers.

I wanted to purchase a covered N30i…

I wanted to purchase a covered N30i frame with a separate p30i nasal pillow. I was able to get a covered frame and purchase a pillow separately.
It is a lot more expensive than buying the pack with 3 nasal cradles that in my case would be useless.
When it arrived there was no head strap to use the frame. Apparently you have to buy it separately too for $40 plus dollars. A complete rip off, other places include the head strap. I did not expect this issue when I contacted the seller I was told that is the way Resmed do it. Its a complete con.

Avoid long term contracts/subscriptions!!!

This company is VERY difficult to deal with.
Just wanted to purchase Machine and mask - but no, we had to take up a subscription contract as apparently cheaper.
What an absolute load of CRAP!
With weekly payments for machine and mask - we ended up paying more than double the original price.
To actually cancel this subscription proved to be a long to and fro process of why.
Eventually after many conversations at Resmed Norwest office, phone & online we finally managed to cancel the contract. But it was certainly made extremely difficult.
Have kept all conversations as proof just in case further payments kick back in - then straight to ACCC for sure.
