Would not bother go elsewhere read other people’s reviews on google

Wouldn’t recommend this company at all
After my dad has insured his 2 cars with this insurance company for over 10years

The morning received a letter to say they couldn’t offer me a renewal quote. Why after you have done this vehicle insurance to 2016

Problem after problem. Just google Hastings and you will see the problems people have with this company

It’s ok got a cheaper quote than you ever gave him at Churchill


In your reply you say;

We consider all your policy details when working out a price and on this occasion we’re unable to offer him one.
But nothing has changed from the last 10years same cars no accidents no endorsements.
The letter you send doesn’t explain any reason WHY!!! Which is really poor the least you could do is give a reason.

Photos 6 weeks when a policy’s to end

Wouldn’t recommend this company!!

I’m writing this review on behalf of my dad
My dad had a car insurance policy with them for over 10years, he rang me after he received a email from Hastings requesting photos along with photo of his driving license. My response was ignore it, it’s probably a scam!!!

When purchasing his car back in April 2015 he had told them he had put some modifications on which were
- side steps
- rear tinted windows
We decided to ring the Hastings on Friday
First customer service said there was nothing on his account but then the call cut off.
So we rang back again and was passed around this time the staff were rude and basically very unhelpful. No one would give a clear answer to why they wanted photos
Two hours it took just dealing with hasting
Took over 30minutes to get though to them

Hastings wanted photos of every panel of the car inside and outside along with a picture of the speedometer and fuel gauge. Don’t see how much fuels in my dads vehicle is anything to do with them

Not only did they want the photos but in each photo they wanted the
Pictures all to have his driving licence in. How the hell do you take a photo while holding driving licenses and not blocking any of the panels. You could
Only upload 3 pictures to a email so your have to send multiple emails
How secure is this system sending personal driving licenses details and pictures of his vehicle?
He received the email on Thursday 25th July 2024 the email said the photos had to received them by the 1st August 2024 otherwise they would cancel the policy.
Is this a reasonable time length? I think not.. imagine being on holiday and not receiving this email until you returned to find out your cars no longer insured.
The policy had 6 weeks remaining on it!!
So he cancelled it because it looks like it’s just a con to get money out of people
See below the charges they were going to charge;
If your policy needs to change, you'll be sent a new quote for this, alternatively if you get in touch we can look at a new policy on the same or different terms or a cancellation quote for you.
If you go ahead with the policy changes, you'll be charged a £30.00 admin fee to update any databases and provide your new documents.
If your policy's cancelled you'll be charged a cancellation fee of £45.00 to cover any admin costs and you'll need to insure your vehicle elsewhere.

Which ever way you went it was going to
cost so may as well end policy there and then. We had been advised it was better for us to cancel that then cancel
It because it can go as a refused insurance.

How many people have thought it’s a scam and ignored it and got no
Insurance now.

The time scale is absolutely ridiculous especially this time of year when people are away

So we cancelled the Insurance yet they charged £66 for cancellation and on the email received it says the charge should be £45.

Wouldn’t recommend this company it’s not the first issue we’ve encountered with them. Which you can see on a previous review for Hastings

Weird that after owning and insuring this vehicle with them for over 9years that 6 weeks when the policy about to end they request photos of the vehicle. Could understand when renewing the policy next year. Just felt like they were conning customers for extra cash. Maybe they haven’t reached there financial targets or whatever

Our Policy Review Team review policies at random to make sure everything checks out and the policy details are correct. They do this to prevent fraud and make sure customers are paying the correct amount for their insurance (this is because fraudulent claims can increase insurance premiums).

This is our standard business practice, and we apologise if you or your dad weren't aware of this. We would usually give customers 7 days to provide the requested information which is in line with our terms and conditions. This was agreed when the cover was taken out. However, we state in our communications that if you need more time to send us the documents we’ve asked for or, you have a question about this process, give the team a call.

When a policy is cancelled, we make sure to only charge for the exact numbers of days the policy has been opened for, and for any fees that apply. Also, if you pay by Direct Debit, these aren’t pay-as-you-go payments - they’re a repayment schedule to pay back the credit agreement that began when you first bought your policy.
You can find a breakdown of the costs of your dad’s cancellation (how much he’s been charged compared to how much his paid) in the documents.

Please note that our cancellation fee is £45.00. If his balance was £66.00, it likely includes the premium for the coverage period he’s already used on the policy.

We appreciate no one wants to be charged fees but, like most other insurers, these cover some of our business costs - like the costs of staffing our contact centres, managing your policy, creating, and sending documents and maintaining and developing our systems. We try to keep these in line with everyone else and make it as clear as possible how much these fees are and that they’re non-refundable.

Fantastic staff at Ludlow branch

Fantastic staff in Ludlow branch. Always helpful and friendly.
Had to return a faulty air con unit after 10months it’s wasn’t working. I contacted customer service online and was told to return and they would refund me. Wasn’t a problem and easily returned and refunded to Ludlow branch. Purchased a new one there to.

Unhappy

Bought a Gymcline ciron watch for my dad in October
Stopped working in June. Contacted Lloyd’s pharmacy were able to help after 6months. But couldn’t get hold
Of Gymcline looks like they’ve vanished. Phone doesn’t ring emails not answered. Website looks closed.
When trying to connect watch to Bluetooth doesn’t happen. App said certificate ran out 12:01. Whatever that means. Tried on an android and iPhone still the same.
Wouldn’t use Lloyd’s pharmacy to purchase anything like this again.

Having previously used sportsguns back in February I placed another order for my dad as we couldn’t fault them.

So placed order received and received this email back

Time went by nothing from them. My dad contacted them several times was told different stories each time. The website then. Changed to 35 days my dad rang and spoke to mike who said “no yours we’ll be delivered within the 21days you have my word” that was worth nothing!
A bit of honesty would have helped believe me, the amount of times it was on suppose to be in the van but never delivered Then they were organising routes The route I could have walked there and got it quicker. But basically that gun wasn’t in stock. Like all the other air gun dealers but at least they were honest and put out of stock on website.

We had enough of getting fobbed off With excuses.So out of curiosity I got my husband to ring them to ask if gun was in stock. Guess what it wasn’t! that’s what Carole told him. Finally some truth. But she would have been more than happy for him to place a order on the phone not knowing when stock would come in. Due to the situation and suppliers. Which matched up with other air gun suppliers who were honest And upfront all said they were waiting on delivery

So after several emails trying to get them to commit to delivery date was always avoided. They were always planning route but it’s on the van or going on the van. Excuse after excuse

So after sending another email they said it was coming on Friday 12th between 5&9pm we were suspicious by this delivery time. Was this again to buy more time hoping stock would be in.
We weren’t prepared to wait any longer so asked for a refund.

The next email then said “it is very difficult to plan 200 deliveries on a route so apology .especially in these circumstances !!

Why take orders if you can’t cope?
So I emailed asking for a refund. Carole said she would
Happily refund .however your order is packed on the van which left to nite .

Even though they were told earlier on in afternoon to cancel order and refund.

So emailed back and asked when I would get my refund. Carole replied Monday

I rang to speak with Carole and all I can say is your customer service really needs some brush up skills. So RUDE! But wait for it. She now has to Wait for van to return with paper work maybe another lie or knows with this company. I don’t believe a word they say

I did get refunded.

A company we would have kept using but due to lies and brush offs we would never use again.

After covid 19, businesses will need customers more than ever so good luck to this one. but after this experience I won’t be using you again nor recommending you.

Check motor insurance database when policy renews

Here we go again
What on earth is going on with Hastings at the moment??
Had problems few weeks ago with my Freelander not showing insured on the motor insurance database and then they sent be four payment plans the list goes on read my previous review. now my golf is up for renewal. Rang on Thursday night has I haven’t received my documents for my car insurance which expires on 29th September 2019 was told it would auto renew and documents would be uploaded to my Hastings account. So now over 24hours there’s nothing on there nor is my renewal letter. I am slowly losing confidence in hasting a company I used to rave about but now all I seem to do is moan about them. I have spent no end of time this month on the phone to Hastings. This policy had better be showing on the motor insurance datBase as insured on Monday otherwise I will be go to the ombudsman. If this vehicle is not showing as insured on Monday I won’t be able to go work as I won’t drive it if it’s not insured and it’s up for taxing on the 1st October this has been told to several customer Service
Such a disorganised company just can’t believe the difference to when I first took out my policy 6 years ago. Sort it out Hastings
Policy due to renew and shows has uninsured on the motor insurance database still not received documents via post even though they were supposedly sent out on the 26th and policy started on the 30th 🤬🤬🤬🤬

Check the motor insurance database…

Check the motor insurance database before driving after renewal. Been with Hastings for 6 years my car insurance was due to renew 14th sept checked the motor Insurance Database before setting off to Alton towers. The motor insurance database said uninsured contacted Hastings as soon as they opened at 9am they reassured me it was insured the women I spoke to was abrupt call got cut off. I then rang back and spoke to Philip who agreed that it should have updated the motor insurance database he said this wasn’t the first case. So if I had of gone off to Alton towers there’s a go chance the police would have pulled me for no insurance. Again the customer service adviser agreed. I’m absolutely fuming. This insurance I agreed to renew on 31st aug I’m just glad I checked the motor insurance database before I went off
Hastings have been in touch and resolved the issue above

Fantastic for thin hair been taking…

Fantastic for thin hair been taking them for 3 months now. Was a bit skeptical as reviews were mixed but Holland and Garret had them buy one get one for a penny

My hair had gone damaged and thin you could see my scalp from it being thin from constantly dying it and use straighteners so I opted to have hair extensions in to make my hair look thicker - a week ago I had the extensions out and I was amazed how much thicker and fuller my hair was. I don’t think this product makes your hair grow faster as I’ve not seen any sign of that maybe to early but I can honestly say I’ve seen a difference in thickness
I’ve also purchased the shampoo and conditioner but I found it dried the ends of my hair out. But this could also be down to the fact the ends of my hair are badly damaged and dry anyway
