AVOID CAR WHIZ SCAMMERS.

This company is operated by a team of scammers. Hired a car in Gdansk, refused to take insurance so they blocked €1,250 on my card. 3 days hire agreed a return review with agent at rental desk. He confirmed opening time assured they be there to inspect. Returned car same condition I picked it up. No one there waited 20 minutes put key in desk. Following my flight checked email to find a return email stating I damaged the internal boot door panel which I did not. Contacted same agent made it very clear I damaged the car threthening to sue him for falce claim stated go ahead. Avoid this car hire company at all costs one way or the other they will find a way to charge you on trumped up reason. I am in the process of stopping them doing this to me and otjers. Damage repair around €35.00 to fix if it required no one could find this only agent. Charged me €550.00 I'd bet multiple scams on this one internal scuff. Please check every part video all areas inside outside but they will charge you either way. Insist on the agents handing over the car same in return. Read about the owners recent success story only with the help of spurious claims and scams. Avoiv at all costs, low grade car hire company. Agents on bonus, and very obvious.

I rented the car from Carwiz through CarJet. The email indicates that someone will be waiting with my name at the airport. Nobody was waiting. I need to call the number to be collected by the van, 20 minutes later to the place where car was kept. I was given the car with 19 scratches/damages all over the vehicle. The scratches were not removed after the previous hiring person paid (about which I learned later). During collection, my car had a message on the dashboard, Oil Maintenance 573km, that was constantly popping up. I did not pay for the excess carwiz insurance. During the return of the car I was asked for the car to be examined. The lady working there, took a bottle of spray and cloth and went to wash the car. She cleaned the first and second doors, which took over 20 minutes. She was determined to find something. The new customers started panicking as they saw what I was experiencing. She went to clean and examine the 4th door. She found tiny scratches that could be one of those original 19 reported and never fixed. At the end, I was charged over £325 for polishing the door that was already scratched and paid for.

Renting a car can be stressful and Carwiz (Malta) didn't do much to make it easier - I'll avoid them in future.

- We turned up a bit early, and our car "wasn't ready" so we paid €30 for an "upgrade".
- There was a confusing range of insurance options, but I had external cover already. Carwiz were clearly not happy with this, which made things uncomfortable.
- Car was fine but ragged! We did have a wing mirror damaged, on calling the office, the company barely knew who we were!
- On return, at least the receiving staff were pragmatic, courteous, and totally unlike the outgoing staff.
- My credit card had the deposit held for a full month! And, you can't use Apple Pay, or Amex, or debit cards - which almost created a problem.

Separately - I did get cover with RentalCover and they paid out.

On balance ... wouldn't recommend ... an uncomfortable experience.

Do not go with their lowest rates. They will bill you for any hard to find anomalies when you return the car example scratches and stuff which they don't disclose.
THEY ARE CHEATS

Awful company, had to wait for 2 hours in a dank corridor to pick up the car. This apparently is common, so the lack of chairs was further baffling. The rental conditions were not explained to me properly, there is no way to pay a certain local fee without having a local account, so they will automatically charge you over 30 euros for that, even if the fee itself is less than 1 euro. They will overcharge on fuel. You can never reach them via phone. Cheap, but miserable. Avoid.

Spend the money and rent from a more reputable company. The wait for pickup at the airport took forever when they said 10-15 minutes. Then the office was all virtual screens and a very long wait. They told us we needed to prepay for toll roads when there were none in the area and charged almost 70$. The vehicle check engine light came on every day and they said it was normal even though the car was not driving correctly. I tried to return the vehicle a day early and they have not reimbursed us the money for that day.

Terrible! Was forced to buy additional insurance although I had already paid through the booking company.

I booked and paid for a Kia Sportage and got an Dacia Duster since these "are in the same category"! There's a 10 000 Euro price difference between these cars - they are NOT the same category. They don't even offer Dacia Duster on their website. It seems to me that they advertise more expensive cars (which they maybe don't even have), but in reality their fleet consist of much cheaper cars which the customer gets, arguing that it's the same category...

The car wasn't even cleaned properly and Ad Blue needed to be filled quite soon. Besides, the web is filled with reviewers that never got their deposit back. Will of course file a police report if this happens to me.

Just wish I had read the reviews before. Will NEVER rent from Carwiz again. AVOID!

Had all sort of dramas, though I purchased total comprehensive insurance cover, they demanded a big security deposit. I returned the car in immaculate condition, they didn't return my deposit. On top they charged few hundred dollars on my credit card next day without authorisation, then another unauthorised transaction after few hours. It cost me triple the amount of rental compared to renting from any reputable international rent a car company.
I had to cancel my credit card to avoid further unauthorised debits. These guys are roberrers, avoid at all cost.
I wrote so many emails to them, sent messages and no reply. Then I called their had office in the Istanbul to report this matter, the customer service lady said its not her problem, and refused to help.
I have never ever cone across such a business in my whole life, don't know how they are legally operating

I book with this untrustworthy fraudulent company carwiz @ 2911 McCoy rd Orlando Florida, I'm a witness to tell you never book with this scam company. They stole my security deposit and when I called to inquire about it I was curse out by one of their employees he told me "F you" and hung up. That's was very unprofessional to say to someone over the phone. I finally spoke with a manager name fran after 12 days later from when my security deposit should've already arrived, he ask me not to call back to their office to inquire about my deposit, due to some different charges that were made up after I was honest to pay my hardworking money to them and get the vehicle back to them on time on check out day. This is not a good feeling for anyone to experience and I won't let this company get away with the games and scams they a running I will see them in court. Because this is very stressful trying to get back what is rightfully owed to me. I have no other purpose to reach out to them except for receiving my security deposit they stole. I don't want to deal with ignorance or dishonest people at all I just want my deposit back. The car had bloodstains old French fries on the floor and was in truly nasty condition, but I guess I have to except that as well. This company is fraud and scamming hardworking people out of their money and has to stop I repeat has to stop. Do not rent from these scammers they will steal your money and play a bunch of games with you because they know you 9-10 live out of state and won't pursue legal actions against them because of the amount money they took. I don't care how much money they took from me they must be stop from scamming your love ones.

BEWARE OF THIS SCAM AGENCY.
They make unexpected charges when returning the car. They take advantage of the fact that you live abroad to never refund your money.
There are many rental companies nearby. AVOID THIS ONE!

We went on our first family trip and this stupid company RUINED IT all for us!!! First off, they FORCED extra fees on us that we did not need!!!! And then.. wait for it… they rented us a NON WORKING CAR!! The car didn’t start and they tried to BLAME US for the problems by trying to force us to tow the car back to them.. and on top of this, the “new” car they gave us DIDNT WORK! the car kept going on and off at red lights! Do you know how DANGEROUS that is when you have two kids in the car!!!??? I am suing them for all the wrongdoing they’ve caused us!!!

This company is scamming its customers. Sure, if you have full insurance, you will eventually get your money back. So they steal the money from the insurance company in the end. Genius? No – criminal!

It's the scratched car rental scam. Here's how they do it:

1. They give you an unusually scratched car.

2. They let you go through a list of each of the 20+ scratches yourself, checking each one before giving you the car keys.

3. When you give the car back, they will look and take photos even under the car. Anything that wasn't on the list you will be charged for.

So you better take as many pictures as possible before, from all different angles, with light, to defend your case. I caught one scratch on a photo, but not another one as the car was wet when we picked it up, and not visible the tiny scratch on wet black plastic in rainy weather.

And you will have a terrible experience with the employees. They're rude and fully aware of their scam. They laugh in your face as you point it out. So just avoid them. If you've already been an unfortunate victim – report them!

Car by it self was OK but whole process of car renting is a joke. It started with late pickup fee since my plane was late on arrival in Warsaw Poland. Then they tried to force me to buy very expensive protection plane. It was priced higher the whole 3 weeks rental. When I said no they offer me a discount on it like it was negotiation in flea market. I said no to this one as well. Then we went outside to the car Toyota Yaris hybrid. Carwiz employee tried to rush me with inspection stating that we have only 15 minutes to leave parking lot for free, but I took my sweet time taking pictures and videos. I'm so glad I did! On return they tried to pin every dent and scratch on me to refuse to return the deposit. They claimed that pictures taken by their employee were missing in the system and they had to call him to come to the airport to release my deposit. I waited 30 min for him and it started. I disputed every attempt by showing pre rental pictures. It took 40 min to get them of my back. I was pissed and angry on the end of the process. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!!!!

I would actually give Carwiz zero stars if possible, the car I hired was very good & I had no problems with it.
The problem arose over 3 weeks after returning the car when my credit card was billed over €500 for damage.
The photograph showed the damage as a windscreen chip near to the wipers that was under 0.25mm diameter.
No video evidence on picking up the car would even show such small damage.
This amount of damage wouldn’t be allowed to be charged for in my home country as it is outside the guidelines & I wish I could include the picture in this review.
This was my 1st & last time using Carwiz as they are obviously just out to scam your credit card & I wouldn’t be surprised if other customers had been charged for the same damage.
I’ve previously used Allegro & Panek for car hire when visiting Poland without problems, I suggest you do the same.

Our pick up in Zagreb was easy and the car was in good shape. Even tiny dents were pointed out and I was encouraged to take photos. The team were very apologetic about the dust on the car as it had rained and offered to clean it before I left but it was no big deal. Dropping off at Dubrovnik airport was also really easy and Ivo was very helpful, friendly and a real professional.

Dont book at Carwiz! Security deposits are withheld! We were told our credit cards dont work to block the security deposit so we should go for an additional insurance (80€) and transfer the resulting lower security deposit of 500€ by cash transfer.
Did not sound trustworthy but as it was late and our kids starting screaming, we saw no other choice.
More than a month after car return, no money transferred back and no contact from Carwiz.
If we call, we are told somebody just took care of it and we should wait, the typical "I dont give a f***" excuse.
Dont book at Carwiz as long as you dont want to get scammed, other sites are full of negative reviews as well.

My family and friends have been renting cars from Pooler airport from car was for many years, and I've always found it. A great customer experience, the cars are very clean and in good condition and when we return the cars there's never any hassle.
We are renting again from them this month

I would like to warn potential customers against this rental company. They use the "stupid Greek" method, tricking and cheating customers. A bad experience - never again.

Attention! I was forced to pay an additional fee for false parking, which was wrong. I did not get any document of it. I must warn everybody to book Carwiz.
