Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The team at Vets Now were brilliant. Very caring, and took the time needed to fully assess my injured pet as an out of hours service to our normal vet.
I would have no hesitation in recommending them. Can't thank them enough for all they did for my furbaby.

If I could have given 6 stars for the Vets Now team I would. From the moment I needed them they were absolutely fantastic. The team were kind and so helpful. I know that they looked after my bunny so very well whilst he was in their care. Unfortunately Basil passed away from his illness but I could not be more grateful for the level of care he received and how lovely every member of the team was. I will remember their kind manner and warmth forever. Thank you for making an extremely difficult time a little bit easier.

Can’t fault the care my dog was given. He was treated really well and quickly. The reason for my 1 star is them requesting £300 deposit although I’m insured on the 1st of may and my insurer has released the funds yet I am still waiting for my refund which they advised me can be another 15days! I’m a single mum who’s now left out of pocket after extortionate deposit fees rather than just having to pay my excess. Very disappointed with the service from this part.

The actual quality of care was brilliant BUT what was not brilliant was, as an insured pet owner, we had to pay out £250 on that night! Straight away! We expected to pay our excess of £115 but they insisted on £250 deposit there and then! AND now the claim has been paid, we still haven't had a refund for the £135 over payment! You are quick to send emails demanding settlement of the bill but slow to refund y[ur unreasonable 'deposit'. We pay £100 a month insurance for our two cats! For years! We shouldn't need to worry about forking out over excess payments to get our emergency care for our poorly cats!

DO NOT USE THESE VETS. My cat nearly died as a result of their lack of basic care and I was told, on collecting her, she was dying, had liver failure, her temp had risen, needed further intravenous drip and had I considered a referral (i.e. 24/7 vet care) or euthanasia? Have THE VETS considered euthanasia - instead of inflicting misery on animals and overcharging vulnerable, caring owners? I took her home and gave her genuine care, fed her by hand and her temperature went down within two days. Another vet confirmed she just had a bacterial infection and she is right as rain - thanks to me DEFYING their non-clinical, cynical advice. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Very professional service with clear instruction & genuine concern for our golden retriever. The vet thoroughly checked her over giving us sound advice

Not overly happy with the experience. Bit more compassion for a clearly unwell dog would have been better. Luckily I was there wirh him & didn't just drop him off. Can't recommend.
