Bolton Spa Medica is in a lovely area of Bolton easy to get to. Everyone was so efficient and helpful, I am a bit of a wimp when it comes to anything like this but I felt totally comfortable and well looked after. Looking forward to the other eye being done.😎🌞😎

From the time I arrived at SpaMedica, I was helped to settle in and feel at ease in every way, checks to see if I felt ok, with the option of tea and coffee, should I wish. When the main procedure started all the staff were attentive and kind, at no point did I feel the slightest pain or worry. The end result is amazing I can barely describe just how wonderfull it is. Thank you so much SpaMedica.

Never been treated like a sack of potatoes before.
Unpleasant with no consideration, warmth or kindness - just processed on a conveyor belt in a production line.
From nurses to surgeon the same behaviour, a robot would have been more pleasant.
All very efficient, but the Wokingham site just treats you as an object in a system that does not consider the patient as a person. I fear it is just a money making machine. The 8 minute cataract operation in my 3 hour visit was smooth and clinical.
For instance when I asked if I could ask a question, she said "no - just listen to me"!
I was cold in the air-con but not allowed to wear my fleece for the 2 hours before the op. We had to wait silently in separate stalls which stopped us talking together, but then we were sacks of potatoes so that was to be expected.
What was interesting was the complete change in colour of things, especially an orange to red shift between the 2 eyes. I can now understand how Monet's work changed a century ago because of his cataracts.
Overall an anger making experience, but a good result (I think).
Not up to the standards and care of the NHS.

I had an unexpectedly great experience.
I was very nervous/scared - someone was going to do surgery on my eye while I was awake! The staff, from reception to the surgeon and all the nurses in between were all excellent care givers. Every step was explained. All my questions preempted and answered. I felt no pain during the procedure, some feat considering the surgeon peeled away a cataract and replaced a lens! Apart from a little pressure and my anxious discomfort, it went very well and I have no residual fear/anxiety at having my other eye done in 6 weeks.
I had a little gritty feeling in the evening which was sorted with a couple of pain killers. 2 days later and using prescribed drops, no discomfort at all. I can expect clearer vision in about about 7 days.
The place itself is very clean and Spa-like with a small amount of designated parking, which was a great help.

The whole experience was amazing. The staff were very helpful andlooked after me very well.I was naturally afraid,ie(the idea of someone poking about in ones eyes🥹was scary to say the least)Lots of waiting around for various duties the nurses etc had to perform but I didnt find it a problem as me and other patients were all in the same boat. The actual op.despite my fears was for me painless.Bit of very light prodding and an amazing flashing lights display.Reminded me of my youth in 60s all psychedelic. As I say I was very impressed with whole experience.Eye was bit itchy and the drops you get to use after op.do sting a bit for couple of minutes then it wears off.Thankyou Spamedica for all you have done.Cant wait to get second eye done.😁

I was made to feel at ease straight away, I felt totally comfortable the entire time.
Helen, Lottie, Dan, Jo, Tracey and Sam were all amazing at their jobs, allowing me to relax and stay calm during a stressful procedure! The Dr was especially good.

Had my pre op in April, staff were amazing. Had my cataract done and I was very nervous. I was put at ease by the staff and surgeon and everything was explained to me what was happening. Operation went well. Sore eye for a few hours. Perfect the next day, no headaches or problems. Looking forward to having my second eye done. Spa medica Wolverhampton

A very professional service given to me by friendly & experienced staff who explained everything they were doing. I was given the opportunity to ask any questions.
The surgery went smoothly & easy to follow instructions once home. Explained what to expect & how to use the drops.
All has gone well so far & I can now see clearly in the operated eye. I look forward to having my second eye done by SpaMedica shortly. I would definitely recommend to others.

Excellent surgery on both eyes, in April and in June this year. Recovery was amazingly fast - within a day each time my vision had returned in the operated eye, and any discomfort (a slightly 'bruised' feeling above the operated eye) had disappeared within a day or two. You are certainly more sensitive to strong sunlight so a pair of sunglasses is a helpful item to have to hand. I am quite myopic so on the first eye I took out a lens from my glasses so could manage to get around reasonably well with a 'good' eye (and no lens) and the unoperated one using the old prescription lens. However I really wasn't able to read too well, as at this stage my old near-vision glasses were no longer appropriate. All that changed with the second op. This was incredibly fast - I left my house at around 1.45pm and by just after 3 I was walking back in, all done! Great care and support from the team at SpaMedica Doncaster.

Everyone was professional, friendly, and made me feel comfortable throughout the process.
The surgeon was highly experienced and took the time to explain the procedure clearly, answering all of my questions before and after the surgery. I felt well informed, reassured, and confident in the care I received.

I first visited SpaMedica in February for cataract surgery but due to having an eye infection, to which I am prone, I was sent away with anti-biotics and another date for surgery. To cut a long story short this has been a recuring theme but now both eyes are finally "fixed" and all is well. The staff have been very kind and understanding, at head office and locally and the procedures have been quick and painless. Thanks to you all and I recommend SpaMedica with flying colours.

All staff were very friendly, helpful and thorough.
Everything was explained. The surgery was painless and quick.
Vision in my treated left eye is brilliant. Can't wait to have the other one treated.
Only drawback is that I can now see all my wrinkles too clearly.

SpaMedica in Poole were very busy on the day of my first cataract replacement. The staff were all great, still helping with every aspect of the treatment, still a smile and encouragement even though it was Friday afternoon. I was warned my eye could be scratchy, gritty and maybe watery, but none of that happen. I can see the television and walk round the house without glasses, I have needed for 63 years. Cannot wait to get the other eye done at SpaMedica. Thank-you so much a revelation.
