As much as Motorpoint claims to be a honest and an easy to deal with before and after motor sales company.
I find this hasn’t been true in my case.
I have had an awful experience in buying a 2023 BMW IX1. It had been prepped left with heavy bumper scratching which I was told wasn’t the standard they presented cars in.
On top of this, driving away and finding 4 days later when washing the car of an undisclosed knock to the front structure of car. This threw parts to be misaligned and damaged within engine bay.
Went back to Peterborough branch to be told unfortunately I had signed a waiver to confirm the car is perfect and therefore was being directed in the direction of being told there’s nothing they can do.
When put a strong complaint to customer care the service manager very swiftly agreed there was damage and they could attempt to fix.
The whole process of buying a £28k car was totally unacceptable from workers attitudes to then being directed to Bethany the care manager who kindly accepted to fix the problems.
If it hadn’t been for her the car would have definitely been rejected and a case through small courts to seek legal action raised if repairs were not satisfactory completed.
It took about 4/5 trips overall to Peterborough Motorpoint to eventually get my dream car back and driving in it once it was repaired.
However to anyone buying from Motorpoint please with your own due diligence and where possible get a mechanic to check over before buying instead of relying on Motorpoint as in my case they did not get it right the first time.

Only thing that was frustrating was poor communication following visit to Motorpoint when I spoke to member of staff with a query on same day of visit and asked to speak to salesperson and was told they would pass message on and call me back but that didn’t happen
Again Motorpoint rang on 3 separate occasions 5 days later however it wasn’t the same number given to me by salesperson and no voicemail was left so I didn’t answer thinking it was a scam. The calls were to tell me the car was in the garage having been delivered from another garage. I could have had car earlier than when I purchased it. The salesperson did apologise.

We were helped and advised by Ashton Nuttall.
Nothing seemed too much trouble for him .
He was very helpful, knowledgeable and professional throughout .
He also gave us plenty of space to be able to browse the huge selection of cars.
At not point did we feel pressurised into making a decision about purchasing a car but at the same time we felt anything we asked was answered promptly.
We would definitely buy another car from Ashton .
