Absolute Rubbish!
Took this card to Greece and all worked perfectly until we wanted to top up. We used in hotel and at ATM Top up transaction kept being declined! Last couple of days would have been tight without top up and we had been assured by Thomas Cook that this was easy to do via the app from anywhere in the world. Luckily had another card with me and we were able to use that. Since returning to the UK have tried to top up and still transactions keep being declined. I have cleared sufficient funds in account and bank say no reason from there end.
After reading appalling reviews and of similar experiences shall ditch this and take my UK debit card with me in the future. Shame because in the past using the old 'Cash Passport' we have topped up each month as a way of budgeting for our holiday. We have now opened a savings account instead! Absolute rubbish, disappointed that Thomas Cook would recommend this product. Never had any problems with their old 'Cash Passport'.

AVOID!!! COMPLETE RUBBISH
If I could give this company less than 1 I would the service is shocking. I tried topping up my card whilst abroad and it kept declining . I spoke to my bank and the card provider and it was because my address wasn't perfectly the same on both cards, so I checked the address and the only difference was that on the prepaid card the address has gbr in the state line which means I am unable to add funds to this card which renders it completely useless!!! It was Mastercard every time declining the payment and no reasonable explanation why I am seriously disgusted

Nightmare
Nightmare, had a transaction aborted at a cashpoint and received no cash, but money was still taken off the card. 8 days later, two emails (only responded to second), 4/5 phone calls and plenty of promises to reinstate balance, but still no cash. Should be enjoying a family holiday, not phoning half way around the world to sort a bad transaction.
Card services are based in Manilla, they are pleasant enough, but don't understand your situation and are in no way helpful. Will not be using the Lyk card again.

I have used my card all week in…
I have used my card all week in Majorca, was accepted in all bars, restaurants and hotel.
Even drew out cash. Tried topping up on the app, initially did not work. Found problem.
When you scan in your payment card and fill in date and security numbers, press done, nothing happens, press top up at the bottom of the screen, your payment card details will show, fill in issue number and press pay.
I also saved the card. I gave four stars as this is a problem and was not sorted out by customer services, athough sympathetic. Lady in thomas cook was brilliant, contacted customer services and has kept me updated to possible causes,Will be keeping this card.

I have had my Lyk card now for some…
I have had my Lyk card now for some four months, I have used it several times to reserve Hotel accommodation and purchase other travel documentation for a Business trip go the USA. Every time I have used it, I have experienced absolutely NO issues whatsoever. I topped up my Card and transferred USD from my previous Thomas Cook Cash passport currency card, all transferred very smoothly. I check my balance regularly and all seems well. Test will be when I actually arrive in the States next week, and see just how the Card performs. Am I just lucky so far, only time will tell!! I feel sorry for others here who experienced severe issues and had to use alternative Cards to pay for holiday expenses. Remember though, CASH IS ALWAYS KING, do your Research first.

Keep well away
This card is by far the worst idea or mis-managed product I have ever come across. I was told by the representative that if I purchased the card I would have the option to remove the funds through the app back into my bank account , I thought this was a really good idea if I lost my card on holiday so I purchased one and added £2000 into euros which got me €2130. I drove home, registered online , activated the card then checked for the option of removing funds to my bank. This was not the case and the option to do this was not there. After reading the reviews (all but 1 being extremely bad) I decided not to go ahead with the card. considering I had only had the card 1 hour by this time I went back down to the Thomas cook store that sold me it and explained to the same representative the “removing to bank” option was not there, she replied “well you could on the old card” so I asked to cancel. She couldn’t do it in store so I had to ring, I was also informed by the representative that I would get my money straight back all £2000.After 3 separate phone calls and an hour of my time I finally got through and explained my reasons for wanting to cancel. By this time I had the card only 2 hours max. They cancelled my card and changed the money from euros back to sterling and also charged me for cancelling so I am now set to receive £1881. I am at a loss of £119 for being mis-sold a product and not being advised that during a14day cooling off period if you decide to cancel you may also be at a loss for changing your money back to sterling. I have complained and they passed on my problem to the “relevant department “ and told me the person dealing with it was on the phone and would phone me back! It’s been 2 days since that and still no returned call ! So if you fancy having your time wasted and you like losing money lyk cards are probably the best option for you ! My next step is the financial ombudsman to hopefully get back what I have lost. I actually don’t want compensated any more than that, I would just prefer to get back my loss and stay well away from them altogether

Have not yet had a chance to use this…
Have not yet had a chance to use this product abroad yet so cannot comment on efficiency. However, i registered in store with this card and started with £250. The app showed this was $296. This was a shock as the exchange rate on the Thomas cook website states the rate is 1.29 which would be $323. After speaking to Lyk customer services i was informed that the exchange rate when loading money in store is only 1.18 but on line is 1.29. There is absolutely no reference to this discrepancy anywhere on line that i could find and the people on the phone at LYK were less than helpful. Luckily i called the Thomas cook branch and they added the $25 difference for me and suggested that i can request the on line rate when i load money in store. This information needs to be added to the website to make things clearer for customers.

Have had nothing but problems with this…
Have had nothing but problems with this since arriving in Menorca. Worked in one restaurant. Can't use it in supermarket or other restaurants etc. Also wouldn't work at ATM. Called Lyk who couldn't see any problem. Now have to use our own bank with most of our holiday money stuck on this card and wait until we get home to get the money from the card losing some of it in the process. Will not use the card again!

Don't EVER use one of these cards
Don't EVER use one of these cards. Me and my boyfriend handed over our hard earned money to Thomas Cook money who claimed they put the money on my card in euros for our holiday to Greece. A few hours later I had a phone call stating I needed to come back as the money had not been put on my card, so I did and believed it was all sorted. Once we arrived on holiday we managed just about to use the card in 1 supermarket and 1 restuarant being the only places that it would work. After numerous calls to Lyk after being told by Thomas Cook that it wasn't their problem and they won't deal with it! We were told serveral different stories the most ridiculous being that the card shouldn't be used in restaurants- however on the card instructions/info it states it can be used as a normal debit card for meals etc! We had also tried retrieving our money from 4 different ATMs all of which said our card was invalid. Finally we managed to speak to someone with some sense who finally transferred the money to Western Union, however with only one full day left of the holiday in which we are on an excursion we paid for prior to the holiday (yes it has taken this long to get to this point) we now can't get to anywhere that has Western Union- the only place being a €20 taxi ride away, more of our money!! So in conclusion we now have to buy the bare minimum on our holiday because of this card company, I also will have incurred extra phone charges from the numerous phone calls- don't ever hand your money over to these people because you may not be able to get to it.

RIP OFF!! STOLEN MY MONEY!
RIP OFF!!!
Absolutely the worst travel card I've ever had! Had a few issues topping up online and when I eventually managed to top up I had to contact customer service for them to escalate my case and manually load the card... Might take a few hours might take a few days they can't say!! Absolute garbage! Eventually asked for refund, once that is received I will certainly never be using it again!!
1 WEEK LATER AND STILL NO REFUND!! having to send all sorts of ID etc to confirm myself so I can get my refund!!
Absolute scam!!!

I would give zero stars if I could.
I would give zero stars if I could.
The website keeps locking me out; I am unable to transfer money without calling them to make a manual transfer; I spend hours on hold while they try and sort out the problems their systems cause; even the compensation they promised me doesn't get transferred.

Ok similar experience to previous…
Ok similar experience to previous reviewer. Card worked great for first two attempts to top up online using the app, very simple convenient process.
I thought great uncomplicated product!!
Really impressed, then PROBLEM!!
Couldn’t top up my card. ( am from uk and am on vacation in USA)
Made several attempts to top uip my balance with Dollars, but each time at the end of the process an UNEXPECTED ERROR message came up on the LYK APP.
So rang my own bank, they said there was no issue at their end and they had
cleared the funds but Lyk was not taking the money and problem was at Lyk end.
Rang customer service at Lyk, (they were very polite to be fair) said they couldn’t see a problem and try again after a few hours, tried next day but same problem so gave up and decided to leave it till i returned home as there wasn’t much money left on the Lyk Card balance and i would use my debit card for the last few days of my holiday.
WARNING,!! checked my own bank account next day and THE MONEY HAD BEEN TAKEN FROM MY ACCOUNT AND WAS NOT SHOWING ON MY LYK BALANCE!!
I telephoned Lyk and took me an hour on the phone to sort it out with a manager ( again i have to say they were polite and were trying to sort it but but the whole conversation was very robotic and it like they were reading from a script)
My message to them was Simple :
MY BANK HAD RELEASED THE FUNDS TO LYK BUT THE FUNDS WERE NOT SHOWING ON MY LYK BALANCE SO WHAT HAVE THEY DONE WITH MY MONEY AS THEY HAVE RECEIVED IT??
1) I was told rubbish about exceeding my limit over the numbers of times in 24 hours i was trying to top up my card.
I said that was rubbish as I hadn’t been able to TOP IT UP AT ALL!!
2 )Then they said i wiuld have to wait 7 DAYS to get my money back if the problem was at their end!!
3) They said my bank had ring fenced the money and thats why they hadn’t received it, well that was crap as well as i had no pending payments on my a/c and the bank had sent the money to them!!!
Then FINALLY (wait for this) the supervisor said that my original request for a top up of funds had been received a few days ago but they had failed to process it for some reason and the payment had been taken a few days later from my bank (which is when i noticed it and rang them )but my Lyk Balance had not been increased!! At last problem resolved and the funds are now on my LYK CARD !!
But imagine if i had tried to top up my Lyk card with a large amount?
1) my bank balance is reduced
2) no funds in my Lyk a/c
3) have to wait 7 days for payment return
4) I’m in a foreign country what if i dont have any other cards to rely on??
Would you rely on a card like this???
I certainly wont!!
The money has now appeared in my Lyk A/c Finally!!!

Avoid
Terrible customer service and a poor product !!!!
I followed the instructions from Lyk to load (top up) the card, the funds left my bank (reference number obtained) however they were not showing on my Lyk card.
I called the support team and was on the phone for nearly an hour at 1am in the morning, due to being left without any money. I sent screen shots confirming the transaction and explained i followed the correct top up process, however even after an hour of being on the phone i was in no better position than when i first called the custmer service team. Consequently i was left abroad without any money.
The customer service team are slow and extremely unhelpful. I was placed on hold for excessive timeframes and refused access to speak to a member of manager.
After continuously asking to speak to a member of management i was finally granted access to speak to a supervisor, however even they were unable to resolve the issue.
Thomas Cook promote the card with emphasis on its convienence however in reality its the total opposite. Having this card caused total inconvenience and to add the customer support team are absolutely no help whatsoever.
Avoid this card at all costs !
