SCAM - WARNED AGAINST by gov.uk
I have just set up a company and received one of Company Registry's scam letter asking me to pay to activate. The letter looks deceivingly official. There is an OFFICIAL WARNING against this SCAM on the gov.uk website under guidance/reporting-scams-pretending-to-be-from-companies-house#scam-letters
Company Registry LLC are based in the heart of Arkansas, USA. Their scammer team operates remotely from around the world under the Company Registry trading name.
SCAM
SCAM - DO NOT PAY
Letter looks very official. Very deceiving. Total con.
Company Registry scam mail
Only just set up a company when I received one of Company Registry's scam mails asking me to pay to activate. Very misleading.
SCAM
SCAM. I registered my business with companies house for £12 then a few days later receive a letter from Company Registry stating 'action required' 'next steps to keep your company records secure and organised' You DO NOT need to waste your money to register your business on this website. Their 'COVID-19 new business' discount made me laugh though.
It's a scam like everyone else said - DO NOT PAY
It's a scam like everyone else said, they sent you an letter like it was from company house with 3 step to pay the fee. I would have paid but than realised it's not company house or HMRC website.
Designed to trap the unwary - avoid at all costs
Adding my contribution to this to ensure the gravity of this scam is kept to the surface. The company has even responded to a review below saying that it clearly states this is an optional step. No it doesn't. Sentences like 'action requested: confirm your company details', 'these are the next steps to ensure your company records are secure...', 'we advise completing your activation as soon as possible', 'account is currently in pending/unclaimed status' are all classic phishing techniques. And given they are clearly harvesting new company creations and sending out these letters literally within 48 hrs of the company creations means they are designed to trap the unwary. Deplorable tactics and I do hope this kind of trick is made illegal soon.
BEWARE of the scam company...!
BEWARE of the scam company. Obtain gov.uk details about company and sends unauthorized marketing emails to make people fall into paying money. Should be banned for such illegal and impersonating activity.
I very nearly fell for it
I very nearly fell for it. This should be illegal. How can they write a fake official letter like this asking for money to be paid immediately? These guys belong in jail.
Interesting tactic
Interesting tactic - name their business Company Registry, secure a dot org domain to look official, then write to new registrations with a letter than implies, but does not state implicitly, that you must pay £47 to complete registration. The payment is actually nothing to do with the company formation, instead it's for their services. Not illegal what they're doing but certainly very, very deceitful.
Scammers - stay away!
If your company is already registered. You don’t need to pay these fraudsters.
Don't pay them
SCAM or clever?
They trying to scam you with letters and pretending they are from Company house but they are not!
Do not fall for them. Very dishonest of them trying to fool people.
This is big scam
This is big scam. They are practicing fraudulent activities. No need to pay attention on the letter which you will receive after registration of your company.
Not Official Company
New companies do not need to activate anything with this company. There are scamming on newly incorporated companies.
Deceitful Buisness Practice
Beware of this company that uses every trick in the book to make you think you need to pay them an activation fee. You DO NOT need to do "activate" an account with them!
While they may or may not offer a real service, the manner in which they try to get you to pay them is deceitful. The letter they've crated is cleary designed to dupe you into thinking you need to "activate" your account and pay them as part of registering your company with Companies House.
Scam - avoid
Scam alert
Scam alert. If setting up a new business and you receive one of there letters. Its a scam
What a SCAM of a company
What a SCAM of a company
For anyone opening a new business for the first time, this company deceivingly named Company-Registry, attempt to dupe unsuspecting people into thinking they MUST sign up and pay this shamble of a company. Hopefully, anyone that has decided to register a legitimate company with HMRC, will also be clued up enough to know that Company Registry's attempts at securing customers by portraying themselves as an official government body through its unsolicited letters to new business registered addresses, is absolute rubbish and deceptive marketing. Do not sign up to this company if you do not need to. It's optional. But considering how they're trying to pull the wool over your eyes, is this really a company you can trust and want to work with?? For me that's an astounding NO THANK YOU!
