I purchased a dash camera for £89.96.
It finally arrived after delays and it was of the poorest quality, unbranded, used and scratched, without any certifications or useful instructions for installation and use.
I emailed their customer services and their response is attached below.
Instead of getting into the trouble to return the item to China, I accepted the 50% refund they offered me, but that was never paid into my credit card. Eventually I received £44.98 when I raised this with my bank.


“Thank you for your reply, and I completely understand your frustration — I know it’s disappointing when something you’ve purchased doesn’t meet your expectations.

Just to reassure you, yes if you return the item, once it arrives safely at our warehouse, you’ll receive the full refund of £89.96 back to your card. Please note that return shipping (around £15–£25) would need to be covered on your side, and delivery can sometimes take 3–4 weeks due to customs checks. Also, if the parcel gets delayed or lost before it reaches us, we wouldn’t be able to issue the refund.

Because I don’t want you to go through that long, expensive process, I’d like to offer you a simpler option — a 50% refund straight back to your card, and you don’t need to return the item. That way, you avoid the hassle of shipping and still get half your money back right away.

Please let me know which option feels best for you, and I’ll make sure it’s taken care of quickly.

Pemmican bar

This review is about the Pemmican bar-original flavour.
Excellent quality food that contains only organic beef meat and fat and a bit of salt. Ideal as a small meal or snack for people on the carnivore/ketogenic diet.
Taste is subjective; personally I added more salt. My wife tried it and she wasn’t very keen on it. It’s probably a bit like marmite, either love it or hate it. I hate marmite but my wife loves it.

I have shares in Kirk Hill and Derril…

I have shares in Kirk Hill and Derril Water and also invested in Ripple via Seedrs. Total investment £4750
Members have been informed that the price paid per kWh has been reduced to 3.2p from 4.3p due to increased operational costs. The estimate price when I joined in was 6.4p/kwh. Further more all payments will be taxed.
I will NEVER get my money back!!
Avoid!!

Update: thank you for responding Ripple. Indeed my electricity bills will be more stable by £60 a year.

We remind members that the current Ripple method of savings means that when prices are high then your savings are higher, when prices come down as they are doing now, you still save, but your savings are lower. Last year prices were higher, so savings rates were set higher. The savings rate is set at the start of every generation year - and in the case of Kirk Hill Wind Farm, it is set for the first 6 months. The savings rate set for Kirk Hill (example given in the review) is not due not increased operational costs. As we say on our website and in all ownership documents ahead of purchase, ownership should never be seen as a financial investment - or a quick return. It is about long term lower, more stabile energy bills and enabling the creation of new people-owned wind farms and solar parks, bringing real energy ownership to everyone, everywhere.

Contacted them via chat and email and there’s no response.

Update: Ben texted me following that review and offered a replacement or a full refund. I opted for the refund but the money has not been credited to my card and it’s been a month. Stay away from this company. They are scammers

Update: I disputed the transaction and provided all the emails and texts to my credit card. They refunded the full amount of the transaction.

I have also sent all the emails and texts to Trustpilot and they have marked my review as “Verified”

The cab didn’t turn up. I called multiple times the cab company and taxicode helpline and still no cab turned up.
I have emailed them asking for a refund of the £62.00 they charged and taxicode just don’t respond.

Smart meter malfunctioning

In April 2021 I had a smart meter installed by Octopus and most of the time since then, the meter has not been submitting readings. This has happened four times so far and each time it takes months for Octopus to reboot the communications hub which temporarily resolves the issue. This time it’s been two and a half months without readings and despite multiple emails and phone calls, nothing has happened. I am sure they are understaffed and their workers are underpaid and overburdened.
I admit defeat and I’m not chasing up anymore.

My name's Cam and I'm one of the Team Leaders here at Octopus Energy.

I'd like to apologise for the problems you've been having with your meter that seems to be recurring and I can understand the frustration of it recurring with the tariff you being on requiring those smart readings being sent to us. I can see Emily (who is on my team) has been dealing with this for quite some time and is providing regular updates over the past few weeks as she works on fixing the issue, she herself isn't a metering team member so has limited powers in this area but is working alongside the smart metering team.

There can be such a variance in the amount of time a smart meter takes to fix, solely coming down to what's wrong with the meter, it can take 24 hours, or months depending on the issues, and if we need t physically attend the property to resolve the issue etc. Unfortunately yours is seemingly the latter, I will get in touch with Emily to provide any support she needs to try and fast track this for yourself.

I'd like to explain that pay and staff hasn't affected this issue, it's just seemingly the complexity of your specific issue that is just taking a lot longer than we'd like to resolve.

I apologise for the inconvenience and don't hesitate to get back in touch should you choose to further discuss this or raise another query.
