About Vets Now
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

I felt that the vet did not have the knowledge to access my dog
As he was so ill I believe he should have been referred to a specialist that day, we did contact them again in the evening asking for referral, we were told someone would call back no one did
also The rooms looked grubby

Great out of hours emergency vet
We've had to use this emergency vet a few times for our cats. The most recent visit was on a Sunday afternoon, it was busy but we were seen quickly, the vet was really friendly and helpful, thankfully the cat is making a recovery.

Amazing vet
Lovely staff, amazing vet.
Had to take my 7 year old small dog in on Saturday afternoon after my vet had closed. This practice was absolutely miles away, but my only option. Hunter had been bitten by my other dog, who is a much larger puppy, and is usually bullied by the little dog. Hunter was seen by a lovely vet who quoted so much, I can remember thinking 'that's nearly 3k' it was totally impossible to pay that amount. The vet was fabulous, and we worked together to find an affordable solution. The vet patched up hunter, gave him antibiotics and pain meds to last him to Monday morning. Hunter was seen by my own vet on Monday, and given more antibiotics, and he had a go at a dog on his way out. He is doing fine at the moment and very bright and back to his normal self.

Adriana was incredible
Adriana was incredible, she was so kind and helpful. Made sure all treatment was discussed with me and I was happy before proceeding, and gave me estimates of everything so I understood costs. She was very gentle with my pet and made him feel very safe, despite him being fearful.

I should have registered with my own vet. I feel exploited for my panic for my mum's dog. The call handler diagnosed lameness instead of just recording symptoms resulting in delay being seen. You are expected to collect at 0730 regardless of pets condition and although informed of an initial fee , the final fee was 3x what I was later charger at my vet for the exact same treatment/ stay period.
The staff however were kind and gave good treatment.
