Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The actual vet seemed okay, wasn't filled with confidence when they though my cat was going to be a dog. Also charged a lot of money for a phone call to the poisons depot, which I do feel was a bit much. They charge for filling in insurance forms, which I know can be standard practice, however if you are paying for it you expect them to be fairly prompt. It's been 10 days and nothing so far. They don't answer the phone either, or reply to acknowledge receipt.
I wouldn't use them again if I can help it.

Seen quickly and vet was very reassuring when Checking our dog. Gave him an injection which eased his symptoms.

The staff were kind and patient as well as reassuring during our emergency appointment. Thank you for all the information that you gave us and of course the excellent care.

thanks for looking after my cat, but I think your charges are extortionate. To charge £30 on top of the £0.84 for the cost of the drug as well as a £300 consultation fee I'm a little troubled. The charges continue.....

Whilst the actual care our dog received was excellent, a month after we started our claim and vets now still won't provide our insurance company with the Information they require. They ask you to fill in the forms yourself, start the claim and then charge a ridiculous admin fee but don't actually do anything! Thankfully I'm only £500 out of pocket and not more. Maybe I'll get it in time for Christmas?!
Here's hoping we never need to use them again!

Incredibly helpful, informative and kind support from the vet.

We took our dog to vets now after a seizure.
They treated her with an injection as I explained we couldn’t afford an overnight stay. There was extreme pressure that she should be being kept in and as owners, we were made to feel very guilty. If we were neglectful owners we wouldn’t have spent £340(?) on a consultation plus an injection over £150.
What really upset us though was that when I chased our Vet to see what the next steps were, Vets Now had failed to send the report through. I find that appalling considering the cost of the service and the circumstances of her illness.
Hopefully we won’t need to use them again and I definitely wouldn’t recommend. However when your beloved family pet falls ill and the Vets are closed, it may be your only option.

Excellent vets!
Took our cat Lola for an emergency appointment. They were absolutely fantastic with her. I thoroughly recommend their services.
Many thanks to all who looked after our precious girl.

We were seen promptly and the staff were helpful and courteous. However, this is apparently a bare bones service, despite the premium out-of-hours pricing (GBP318 basic consultation fee). We had to buy our own liver paste as there were seemingly no treats on offer to try and soften the experience for our extremely stressed dog.
We were presented with a lump sum fee for payment, with no breakdown readily available. Only upon receipt of the invoice by email did I realise we had been charged up front for the insurance administration fee. When I followed up the next day to check it wasn't covered by the Pet Health Club membership (it isn't), it turned out I hadn't even been sent the applicable link to initiate the process.
Very disappointing and considering changing from our (fantastic) vet provider to avoid future referral to this out-of-hours service.

Quick and friendly service. So good to have this when your pet is ill out of normal vet hours.

Very good service for my poorly cat, vet was very helpful and knowledgeable.
But very expensive, it was an emergency appointment but at £318 plus another £50 for an injection this would be out of reach for many people.

The cost of the consultation was extortionate.

My little dog had eaten a stone over bank holiday weekend and I needed some emergency vets. The service was super efficient and good on communication. I brought her down right away and was seen within 90 mins on a bank holiday Sunday. The vet was great with her and gave good help and advice. Would certainly use again.
