Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

My little dog was seen right away, bloods were taken without any drama & analysed there & then which led to a tentative diagnosis of pancreatitis. Anti-sickness & pain relief were administered. My dog had been retching/vomiting violently for about 3 hours & was in considerable distress, it was such a relief so see her suffering eased by such calm caring vets late at night & not forced to wait until the morning when our regular vets re-opened.

Very good service and care for our dog who was admitted due to a severe bout of Gastroenteritis. The staff had a great 'bedside manner' with our dog which is really important to us.

I don’t tend to take the time to leave reviews, but these guys were AMAZING, from the second we walked through the door unsure of how bad it might be we were reassured and the turtle was looked after, help and advice was given regarding paying, and everyone was in very good spirits (despite it being nearly midnight!) Despite the not so great circumstances I am very glad we ended up with these guys:)

We took our cockapoo in as he had some kind of infection, Our dog unfortunately had a bad experience at the vets when he had his first jab and has been completely petrified being there ever since. As a result of that he can get aggressive when he’s in that situation, particularly when the mussel comes out.
The vet continued to tell us that he has serious behavioural problems and needs help. This is literally the only place where our dog is at all aggressive and this particular vet, didn’t help the situation whatsoever. It’s also insulting to even say that to us, being completely wrong and obviously not having any understanding of an extremely stressed dog.

Very caring, understanding and friendly staff. They made the worry of needing an emergency vet in the middle of the night a much less stressful situation.

The vet that I saw was very friendly and professional. Took her time to explain. Answered questions.

Rushed my dog in as he was having some kind of prolonged seizure . Had to wait around 15 minutes to be seen , which was stressful . However the vet was really caring and explained his thoughts and diagnosis clearly .

you were very very helpful in dealing with Bella,s injuries and follow up treatment and visits, it was very noticeable how Bella behaved when we visited you in later weeks, you were her friends and she was overjoyed to see you all. Thank you all very much

I took my dog into the emergency vets late on a Sunday with gastroenteritis. We were seen immediately and after some blood tests she was kept in overnight. She is an extremely anxious dog and staff were lovely to her. I collected her the following day and she went for further treatment at our own vets. I was thankful for this out of hours service because my dog had got progressively worse over the weekend and she received immediate kind care. Than you!

Easy process, rang and explained that I needed to get my cat seen by a vet, Vetsnow found nearest surgery to me and texted information with link to directions. Found Vetsnow and was seen quickly and professionally by vet. Vet helped me to car as cat and carrier heavy. It’s expensive but it is out of hours.

This is the email I sent my surgery 10 days ago:
Hello
I spoke with one of your vets Jon on the phone at around 2pm on Saturday 6/5. He had most recently treated my cat Rorschach on 2/5. On this call I asked to be emailed regarding Rorschach's further home care treatment, such as dressings and gels to apply for home care, etc. Which, after "issues with his computer", he confirmed he would be sending the email. I relayed my email address, which I gave to him over the phone, confirmed it several times and informed him I have emailed invoices dated 2/5/23 from the surgery, confirming my email address should be on their records. I had already waited 3 days for this phone call concerning his care, that I then had to initiate by calling your surgery and waiting a further day for a follow up phone call...and I am still waiting for this email. My cat had part of his tail ripped off 7 days ago on a bank holiday, we spent £540 for 4x pain killers, 2 shots, oral get and poorly dressed bandages that came off when he simply stood up after lying down after 10 minutes, (not playing as he was heavily medicated) after "emergency treatment".
This is not the treatment I expect at £50+ for a visit, let alone, for an extra odd £20: applying a dressing, no supplies for redressing, more importantly no instructions for redressing!! A few days' worth of pain killers and no communication unless I chase it up.
Can I PLEASE have the detailed follow up for home care treatment, that I discussed via phone call with Jon on Saturday 6/5 including all dressings, gels and any/all store-bought treatments so I can care for my cat safely and correctly.
I hope to hear from you soon.
Many thanks
Miss J Riddell

I have had zero response in any form. Unless it involves me spending copious amounts of money on a surgery, (that my cat does not NEED, when home care is an option) you don't seem to be interested in his care whatsoever!! Thank you for the painkillers and re dressing his tail, with no extra supplies for £70...

The team that dealt with us over the BH weekend were very caring. They gave full commitment and we knew exactly what was being done. They also kept us informed of cost. The service for out of hours was very good. However, the outcome wasn’t a happy one 😢 not due to this practice just complications with the illness. The waiting area was extremely clean and all staff very friendly.
