About Vets Now
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Horrible nasty con
Attended the chesterfield clinic on 10/5/23 and unfortunately both my guinea pigs needed to be put to sleep.
I paid the agreed price (£168) and thought that was that
Today I received an invoice demanding an additional £98. I queried this and received a voicemail stating "sorry this was our fault we miss quoted you. Please call us to pay the outstanding £95"
Horrible horrible con to extort money out of a greaving pet owner. You should be ashamed.
Thank goodness my dogs pet insurance has their own out of hours vets so I'll never have to return

And here we have proof that they don't read reviews properly or talk to their internal departments.
I already contacted you guys. Please read my review above.
I contacted you yesterday and if I don't get a reasonable response I will be raising my complaint to the RCVS in due course.

I've now had an email stating that the above review never mentioned that I contacted them prior to posting a review!!

So relieved
We are very grateful to vet and staff for seeing us with our beautiful boy. We call Dillon our grandson as we look after him for our son. He is a 12 year old King Charles spaniel. He was stumbling, struggling to stand during the day and crying out. Panting furiously. After so long we decided we couldn’t put it off any longer. After describing his symtons. We were given directions to find the surgery. Carried him in. He had a thorough exam and an injection for the pain. Meds to bring home. Little monkey walked out, tail wagging. They was so kind and gentle with him. The vet took his time explaining. But thankfully after a few days he has recovered although he’s not doing stairs or jumping up. Highly recommend

Superheroes!
Our cat Barnaby had badly broken his leg after a fall. Alex and the team cared for him all night keeping him calm and comfortable before he was transferred to specialist care the following morning. Knowing that Barnaby was being so well looked after gave us some desperately needed peace of mind. The team were so friendly, reassuring and caring that they made an absolutely horrific experience much easier to navigate. We couldn't recommend highly enough.

Good experience
Good experience. They did what was needed but I do think the initial consultation fee is extortionate.
I’ve had to use then twice now and the insurance company for my cat had a cap on assessment fees so wouldn’t pay the full amount. £286 is very high.
