Easy to deal with online until payment stage. Phone call required to confirm card details would not be stored and that the policy would not auto renew. Not entirely sure if I then paid extra because of this phone call.

Woeful incompetence, money taken and no policy
Absolutely terrible service ordering car hire excess insurance. Swinton took my money but didn’t send email confirmation or the policy documents. I tried so many different ways to contact them to make sure the policy was in place before I went on holiday. I called a number - no help. I emailed and still no reply, I tried Facebook- nice response but told to email. The chat box dropped me out after a long wait. I lost three hours trying to contact them.
It is completely impossible to speak to anyone so I’ve been forced to purchase a different policy from another company. I’d happily have paid more to receive a normal service.
Confirmation from the other insurance company and the policy came through immediately. Next problem is to get my money back from Swinton. As I write this, it’s well over 24 hours without communication from them. The very fact that there is no way to speak to a human who can help, and customer service so lacking means I’d not consider them for any insurance again.

We were experiencing technical difficulties at the time you attempted to purchase your policy which have now been resolved but I realise this does not make the situation any less frustrating.
