Had to make a claim on my home contents insurance. Easily spoke to a real person at Saga who explained everything and gave me the number to call for my claim .
Lloyds were the underwriters. Oh my goodness Sheldon was absolutely brilliant. Reassuring, understanding and so very helpful. Everything sorted in a few questions . The money was in my account within days. Absolute 5 ***** star service . Thank you so much 👏🏻🤩
Saga was the best price for my 94 year old Dad, who is fit and able. Other Companies wanted £2,000, up to £5,000. It's a shame that because of age they load a person up. My Dad is so fit and able and doesn't walk with stick but Companies think ALL old people do. Saga was considerate and very reasonable. Would highly recommend
I saw the premium quoted on the Go Compare comparison website which appeared to be excellent for the level of cover. Therefore, decided to take out the policy hoping that in the event of a claim, they would live up to their reputation.
Got my house insurance with saga a few weeks ago and was dreading pages and pages of questions but, I was pleasantly surprised how straightforward and easy it was.. i will be telling family and friends to give saga a go. Felt I had my say and the insurance for contents was over £100 cheaper than my old insurance.
I had a renewal quote from saga of £571. Found it cheaper with saga when asked for a brand new quote. Came out at £301. Shame on you saga fro treating existing customers poorly
When I had a claim they treated me fairly and promptly.

I purchased a new vehicle in june and tried to transfer my existing polcy over to the new vehicle. I could only do this by phone but the call handler had great difficulty in understanding me and in the end I was refused insurance with no explanation offered and no apology given. When I later queried this with Saga I was told that Electric vehicles (my new car is a Skoda Elroq 60)are considered high risk and they assume this is why the under writer would not insure it. All other companies I approached for quotes offered me insurance. I selected Aviva .
£50 TO CANCEL INSURANCE ON A CAR I NO LONGER OWN — AVOID SAGA
I insured my car with Saga and paid the premium monthly. I have now sold the car, so naturally I cancelled the insurance.
Simple, you might think.
Apparently not.
I had just paid my latest monthly instalment of £15.59, only to be informed that I now owe Saga another £31.18. Why? Because tucked into the deal is a £50 cancellation fee.
So having sold the car and no longer requiring insurance, Saga effectively wants £50 for the privilege of stopping insuring something I no longer own.
The absurdity is that, at £15.59 a month, it would almost have been cheaper for me to carry on paying for insurance on a car that wasn't mine.
Think about that for a moment.
I wasn't cancelling because I'd found a cheaper insurer. I wasn't changing my mind. I SOLD THE CAR. There was nothing left for Saga to insure.
And then came the customer service.
I rang to query the charge and eventually spoke to someone whose English I found extremely difficult to understand. Communication was consequently frustrating enough, but the attitude I received was also unnecessarily rude and dismissive.
Saga markets itself as a company that understands and looks after older customers. My experience was rather different: take the monthly premiums, take another £50 when you leave, and make questioning it as unpleasant as possible.
Yes, I'm sure the cancellation charge is buried somewhere in the terms and conditions. That doesn't make it good customer service, and it certainly doesn't make a £50 charge for pressing the metaphorical "cancel" button feel remotely reasonable.
The irony is magnificent: Saga's own advice says that when you sell your car you should cancel the insurance because otherwise you'll “keep paying for insurance you don't need.”
Quite.
They just neglect to make quite such a song and dance about the £50 they'll charge you for doing exactly that.
After this experience, I certainly won't be insuring my next car with Saga.
£50 may have been their cancellation fee. Losing a customer permanently was the real cost.
Why do i need to complete medical information for each trip when I am booking on the same day with the same info? I am arranging insurance for three trips today and It is a waste of time.
good reputation, easy renewal, competetive price.
spoke to a person who spoke good clear english
How quick and easy it was to fill in the information and the price is amazing I will definitely be recommending saga.
What a shame. My car was hit by a large flying object while driving. I had a witness who saw it fly off a lorry who had just come out of a landfill site. I got the registration from the company. All good you think. But wait. Saga employ QDOS to sort things like this out. The accident happened in March. Yesterday they have told us there isn't enough proof and it happened so long ago it's too late now anyway. So don't have a not your fault. Saga, how can you let this happen?
Saga Car Insurance offers excellent price and support for older drivers, including no upper age limit.
First class travel insurance site. Easy to follow and a fast quote service....recommended.
Dreadful service at every turn. all I want to do is to access my documents on line. Anybody would think I was trying to split the atom but dealing with this company it might as well be. I dread if I need to call upon the insurance. I have telephoned which took me over 40 minutes before somebody could be bothered to answer. Then I was promised everything would be fixed and surprise, surprise nothing has been done. I still cannot access my documents on line and this started on the 22nd July. Needless to say there was no issue taking my money. Shocking company and even worse customer service. Take my advise and avoid and go to a professional company.

Very easy website to arrange travel insurance even with adding medical information . Very happy with the price. When phoning to update on medical screening , I was talking to a lovely kind and caring voice on the other end making me feel that I can trust them if I ever needed help whilst away
