APALLING SCAM-ENABLERS

APALLING SCAM-ENABLERS! Zero customer care or recognition of what constitutes Fraud. I have been fighting for almost 3 years to get back payments taken by scammers which I highlighted to MBNA BEFORE they were taken but which they enabled not once - but TWICE! Cost me £100s & hours of wasted time trying to explain to these deliberate dimwits what constitutes Fraud but all they do is obfuscate until you give up. DO NOT TRUST MBNA!

Attempted fraud stopped

A fraudster tried to put through a load of transactions in Mexico. MBNA blocked the transactions and messaged me to ask if they were legit. I called them up, got through immediately, they blocked the card and sent through the new one within 48 hours. Excellent service!

MBNA Credit Card - Customer service

Why is it every time I call to speak to someone I get told that I need to go digital and use the APP. Surely that should be my choice and don't need a lecture from you. This is why there are so many scams due to everything being digital. So please mind your own business and deal with the customer queries!!!

Breach of industry guidelines…

This company, are part of the Lloyd’s Banking Group, who have a past record of poor service and breach industry guidance and replace it with their own guidance.

I had two credit cards which were included in a debt management scheme. Both accounts have the wrong default date and they continue to fail to record the correct date.

Now, the default should be off my credit file, but it is still on there affecting me negatively and longer than it should be.

Absolute shambles of a company. I will be seeking compensation for each day that the default is on my credit file longer than it should be…

Not even worth the one star….Awful company

Not even worth the one star….
Insured the house outside pipes and drains they use Ansa omg what a shower no better than these I had my drains blocked they sent Ansa out dug up my yard to prepare to come back and sleeve my broken pipe then called to say no we’re not doing it, it’s wear me tear !!! Yup..And these lads came from Sommerset 9 hour round trip for 3 hours work wtf is that all about stupid company ….

Had a call today from MBNA I had called x3 times to let them know this company are bandits and x3 times told the story of what’s been happening and only one guy had put it all on my file, omg, if you can’t do the job properly then leave, I pay my insurance for a reason not to get bloody ignored 2 months later they ring me to say it’s wear and tear Ansa tells them ha ha course it is i said, and he didn’t want to know anything about the company not interested in what I had to say but hey, I’m just the customer who pays your wages , So I told him I will never insure with them again which is due this June for renewal, At no point did they try to help or even find out why Ansa started a job to just finish, just go with wear and tear as they do, easy get out clause…
Useless company, another load of bandits.!

STAY AWAY FROM THEM you’ll waste a years money if you need to claim..

I did tell the chap read up on Ansa, but nope he won’t but I hope he reads this….
And I bank with Lloyds doesn’t look good on them but why should they care they have our hard earned money…

Why bother with insurance I’m sure it’ll be cheaper just to pay an independent company to sort out the outside pipes and drain problems if and when and as I own them not the water company I bet it’s cheaper in the long run as wether we claim or not they still sting us every year putting it up…..🤬…

I WAS AN INVESTOR AND RECEIVED EQUALLY NASTY TREATMENT

Contrary to many of these reviews I was an INVESTOR with this Company and I ALSO as an INVESTOR was treated with contempt and disrespect which I quickly noticed following my initial investment of £5000 which would have increased to £55000 (which fortunately I can prove). It was good fortune that the arrogance of MBNA came quickly to my notice initially from their obnoxiously self opinionated telephone operator confirmed by MBNA's acceptance of one's funds but does NOT provide internet access or any other access to one's money invested in MBNA other than a confirmatory text the funds have been received. Further confirmed by their acknowledgement of their failures and a £30 compensation cheque for my personal expenses spent which is yet to be received and finally confirmed by what I describe as more disdain and arrogance by MBNA's representative staff. I am a lucky I got away from MBNA swiftly and I got my funds/investment returned. My sympathy genuinely extends to those who sadly are in their nasty suffocating tentacles and unable to be released.

Shocking!

If I could give them a negative rating I would. There were 3 parties involved in my blocked drain claim and after 6 days I am still waiting on an engineer to fix the problem. The company they got to fix my issue is 2 hours away from where I live which makes no sense. This is literally a case of someone following a script and does not give a toss about the customer. I will 100% be cancelling my policy when this claim has been settled. AVOID!!!!!

Disgusting customer service

Disgusting customer service, rang them with proof that i had paid for a bike twice on the card and they will not refund one of the £649 payments as i cant prove i didnt buy two bikes? how can i prove I didnt do something? the retailer took two payments and has shut down and i am now £649 down, customer service is shocking, said they will give me £40 good gesture! I asked to raise a complaint and she said my case doesnt warrant a complaint! So you cant even complain in that company, they completely screw their customers over.

What ever you do do not purchase home…

What ever you do do not purchase home insurance from MBNA. You will find it almost impossible to cancel come auto renewal time. I am 6 hours in and still not been able to cancel my 97 year old stone deaf father in laws insurance renewal. I have spent hours on the phone listening to daft messages about how easy it is to do online when I'm ringing to say I cant do it on line. Every possible difficulty has been raised to ensure they can take his money for a product he does not want. In the end I have had to physically take him (not easy, remember he's 97) to the bank to stop the direct debit from his account.

Won’t even send insurance policy document required to confirm mortgage. This should be readily available like it is everywhere else. Received phishing email off the back of providing our details. Useless customer service. I created a trustpilot account simply to leave this review.

Appalling company, steer clear!

Contacted the fraud team as i noticed transactions on a card i don't use for spending. Customer service completely useless, told me to contact merchant, which i explained i had done. Marchant has no record on my account of me making the transactions because I'm not the one making them. MBNA insist i speak to the merchant again. They are now reading my messages through the customer service chat but won't close the chat or respond despite wanting to close my account. I am unable to close my account while the current chat is live but there is no option to terminate the chat from the customers side. Appalling and will never use again.

MBNA Credit card BEWARE-GET AN INDEPENDENT REPORT

MBNA Credit card BEWARE! YOU NEED AN INDEPENDENT REPORT TO CLAIM TO BE 'ON THE SAFE-SIDE.'
Used the card to purchase a sofa from Lee Longlands Birmingham which was faulty. MBNA were not easy to deal with about the claim. They will not pay out under section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act even though they are legally jointly & severally liable, saying we needed an independent report to verify the fault. They did not inform us of this until it was too late to get one, even though the Manufacturers confirmed it could happen.
Laura King also gave an example that an independent report would also be needed for white goods though not for everything. Obviously they cherrypick so you don't know where you are! Nothing written about this either - it's just how they operate. Now going to the Ombudsman. Would never use MBNA again for anything, I could not trust them & there are lots more credit cards to choose from.
IF YOU NEED AN INDEPENDENT REPORT PUT IT IN THE PUBLIC DOMAIN MBNA !!!

Customer services nil points

Customer services nil points. Online virtual , same excuses as for call centre, we are experiencing a high number of calls please try again later. Yes because your customer services is sewerage level at best. That's if you in UK, if they block your card overseas you are in a worse predicament. No free calls UK number 20 minutes in a queue to be told ? Yes automated response. Time to change provider this service is a cluster.

I'have never had a credit card before

I'have never had a credit card before, it should have stayed that way. MBNA has to be one of the worst product available. When I got the card it said no interest for 1 year but it turns out its only on first purchase, which I can ignore I just stop using the card. They charge me interest when they shouldn't have, they remove it then I'm charged late fee, I call them to remove it, they agree now I'm being charged interest on interest on the same late fee charge that they agreed to remove. You seriously can't make this up. The lack of stars speaks for itself stay away from this company.

I wish I checked reviews before…

I wish I checked reviews before applying for a credit card with MBNA. Absolute crooks I urge everyone to check with trust pilot before using this company. I usually used the 0% interested offers to buy stock from independent suppliers for my small business. I have done this with M&S bank, chase, Barclay card. Never ever had any issues when making the payment to merchant through PayPal. For some weird MBNA have decided to charge me a cash fee & daily interest. I tried to explain to their customer service & they were unwilling to assist or even find me a reasonable contact to find a solution. What I did is no different to making an online purchase because I’m paying a merchant for their services. Now I’m £250 in the whole with daily interests. I can’t believe I fell for their schemes. I can barely afford to survive at the moment & these are the types of things that send people over the edge.

No point calling Card Services - they mislead you. Use a different bank.

Despite having managed my account perfectly, and having a good credit score, I didnt have a BT or MT offer. I called card services and was told an offer had been put on for me. I relied on this. When I tried to take it out, I was told I didnt have it afterall. I complained and they accepted I had been told I was entitled to one, but would not give me it. So much for being people of their word! Card Services are hopeless, not properly trained and simply mislead you. What is the point of having available credit if you cannot use it when you actually want to?

I would advise people to avoid MBNA Credit Card as the service is disgusting and its a waste of time having the card.

They hide behind their silly criteria but we all know they have a discretion to do what they like. It's all just lip service.

Having read other reviews, it seems it is not just me who finds them terrible.

I am closing my account and wont be back!

Rubbish

I applied for a MBNA Visa card. Too much faff logging into the phone app, typing username & password every time. Then there's the three random letters from a memorable word, which has me counting on my fingers. My bank a/c and another c/c show a keypad where you tap a 6-digit number, and that's it.
I decided to cancel the a/c, which can only be done in the phone app, and by coincidence that's when it went down for everyone.
I've never been able to log in since, and a message tells me to phone them. But then I'm told they're experiencing a high volume of calls and there will be a 20 minute wait. So I've shredded their letters and cut the card up.
