Easy to book, on time, good install. Better than DIY.

Great service, knowledgeable staff

Sadly, had a really poor experience with this retailer when I needed to replace the battery on my car. I used to mobile fitting service, paid extra for the confirmed time slot, and the guy didn't fit it properly. When I questioned the error message on the dash, he said I just needed to drive the car a bit. This was incorrect, he had fitted it completely wrong, and the guys in Halfords Bracknell had to fix this bodge job.
Further, when I called to complain and let them know this guy was doing a poor job, they took the details, said they'd follow up with an email, and I heard nothing. I actually just called again and spoke to someone pretty non chalant who offered me an £8 refund for the inconvenience and said 'anything else'?!

Won't be using them again, cannot be trusted

I recently booked Halfords Mobile Expert to replace my car battery and I couldn’t be happier with the service. The technician was excellent — he even phoned beforehand to ask if it was okay to come four hours early, which I really appreciated.
He was friendly, professional, and got the new battery fitted quickly and cleanly. What really impressed me was the extra advice he gave. Because I only use my car every three months, he explained that running the engine for about five minutes once a week would help keep the battery healthy and extend its life. It’s the kind of practical tip you don’t always get, and it made me feel they genuinely cared about the job being done properly. Overall, the whole experience was smooth, convenient, and stress-free. I would highly recommend Halfords Mobile Expert.

It was easy to book, cost efficient and work was done in the timescale provided with great care.

The price was good and it was easy to book a slot, and get someone to come to us. My only complaint is that all common advice I've read is that for safety reasons when replacing a front tyre the new tyres should be fitted to the rear axle, and worn tyres moved to the front. My understanding is that this is standard practice so was surprised when the mechanic said that wasn't the plan and didn't even seem to think it was an issue. When I asked if it could be done this way, he said that would be an extra charge but didn't know what that charge would be as I'd need to go through customer services and rebook. He was also unable to identify what had caused the puncture to the old tyre, which didn't fill me with confidence.

Friendly, professional service. Easy to book online and see when the work would take place. Mechanic knew what he was doing, managed to complete the work quickly and explained everything he'd done and left everything really tidy. Thank you!

Everyone needs to be aware Halfords will not accept liability for something that they did wrong. Our whole family was put at risk on the motorway due to a defective tyre. We have proof but as yet no resolution has been met. Until they put this right, I will warn everyone I can about this company.

Tyre repair went to plan, web page is a bit unreliable but I could see how many jobs before mine. The fitter was very helpful.

The dash cameras were installed very quickly and professionally. The instructions were clearly presented and explained. Strongly recommend.

Absolutely disgusting service I bought 2 New tyres to be fit on my car at home on the driveway one tyre was not new and went down I took it to my local garage who also said it wasn’t a new tyre he pulled a nail from it and at the opposite side u could see it had been filed down and u could see two more holes in it, Halfords do not read emails and when I spoke with someone called Nic he was not believing my issues and was making excuses no refund or apology absolutely disgusting service I wish I would of read the reviews before hand
Don’t waste your money with Halfords go to a genuine company for tyres

The 4 wheel allignment booked at Finchley autocentre experience was diabolical. The booking system alowed me to book the the service but 45 minutes after arrival and waiting was told the centre do NOT do 4 wheel allignment. What a waste of time it was atrocious in everyway. Certainly will not recommend this to anyone. It appears, this big company and the systems they used for booking etc. are not alligned with the capability of the local autocentreds. Just shocked that they are failing at something trivial like this.

Corey arrived earlier in the day than I was hoping for and quickly did a great job in fitting my car's new tyres.

Excellent experience as the price was very reasonable with free fitting outside my home plus the mechanic was prompt and pleasant.

A convenient way to get your tyres fitted. A brand I trust but may be paid a little extra. Next day service available is just brilliant.

Chose Halfords as they had the best multi-buy deal. Discount was not applied at checkout though, no option to add a discount code. Website said buy 2, get 10% so bought 2, no discount.
Tyre fitter arrived late in the day, no pre call to say he was on his way. He had the wrong tyres, but tried to convince me they were the correct tyres. Said they don't always put the exact tyre spec on the sticker! But the tyres were wrong, the tyre spec was stamped in the rubber of the tyre. He still wanted to fit them, even though the tyre he brought was a cheaper spec than what I had paid (full price) for.
Asked him to call his office to resolve, he said no, he didn't have the number, I would have to do the ground work. So I did, two calls to customer services later - the number was not easy to find on the website - I finally got the tyre I ordered fitted three days, THREE DAYS later.
The original fitter drove away and left me knowing I had one illegal tyre. I'm sure there is a duty of care attached to this and responsibility by Halfords to not allow a person to drive an unsafe car on the road.
A week later, I have been promised the discount I should have received will be refunded, I'm still waiting despite calling customer services a further 2 times.

Another call to chase refund and it has finally been applied, 9 days after the initial booking and first complaint. Still not good enough from a national company who got it so wrong in the first place, but at least its sorted now. I will be overly cautious about using Halfords again.

Great value on a mobile tyre fitting and the fitter was fast and professional. Very good experience and would definitely use Halfords again
