If I were able to give zero stars this…

If I were able to give zero stars this is what you would see. Young guy been sent to fit my tyres. First time using the service and was not impressed. When he arrived at 15:45, he was telling me that I was his last call and that he would be going out for the football game that was on today, Rangers vs Celtic. He took a look round the car and said, nah.. won’t be able to do it. I said to him, you having a laugh. He replied and said, nah, won’t be able to, could maybe do three. Then he went round the car again, was like in fact, will only be able to do the one. You’ll need to get new wheel nuts. Said to him, how will you not be able to get them on and off. Everyone else seems to do just fine with them. He’s replied I can get them off. Not sure about getting them back on. Told him to leave at this point. His attitude and response was just disrespectful and distasteful to be perfectly honest. More motivated for the auld firm, than doing what he’s paid for.

Matt Trowbridge branch

We have taken our grandsons bicycle to halfords Trowbridge branch a couple of times recently and always found that Matt in the bicycle department has been very helpful. Thanks again Matt.

I booked a mobile tyre replacement

I booked a mobile tyre replacement . Waited in for the whole 12 hour slot and they didnt arrive and didnt contact me. I called to complain and was told they would rebook for 3 days later !!They clearly accepted an order they could not fulfill and lied about contacting me. They had no answer when I asked how I'm supposed to get to work the next 2 days. I strongly recommend you do not book this service.

I recently made a purchase that went…

I recently made a purchase that went wrong. I made a complaint... nothing in reply. I complained again... nothing in reply. I complained again... still nothing.
A staff member told me that my complaint emails had been passed on to customer services. Then they're crap I said. The staff member said "That's Halfords for you"!
I can only assume that Halfords prefer to inflict themselves on their victims with impunity. Its seems that my views mirror what other victims have been saying in the past.
It appears that they don't even respond to negative reviews. Halfords have seemingly no respect for the people that pay their wages.
A truly terrible company.

I recently had a new car battery fitted…

I recently had a new car battery fitted by a Halfords technician on my drive. He arrived earlier than I expected and promptly started to remove my old battery and fit the new one; the car started first time, as you would expect.

The next day, I went to start my car and got nothing—just a click. After a few attempts at starting the car, accompanied by some cursing and swearing, I opened the bonnet to discover the positive terminal lead was loose. Fortunately, my knowledge of cars was sufficient for me to get a spanner and tighten the nut for a secure connection.

Maybe I could have reported the fitter at my local Halfords store, but I chose not to. He was a friendly enough guy doing his job and he simply made a mistake; I wouldn't have received any satisfaction from getting him disciplined. That is why I have not named the location of the store where I ordered the battery and have provided an incorrect date for the experience.

Went to Halfords in Cambridge to…

Went to Halfords in Cambridge to enquire about two electric bikes, we were seen by Brady.
10 put of 10 for a great professional service ,he was so very knowledgeable and helpful. We will be buying the two bikes and all the accessories needed following on all his help. Great customer service , thank you Brady.

Havant Halfords customer service. What customer service!!!!

Ordered an extension lead online click and collect from the Havant branch. They had them in stock and I would get an email when ready to collect. The email arrived to say my order was ready to collect. I drove 6 miles to the store just as I got there I received another email to say my order had been cancelled!! I went into the store to see if they had another type but found the extension lead I originally ordered by the till. I asked to speak to the manager as I wanted to know why it had been cancelled and he said they couldn’t find them in store!! Then they said if I wanted to purchase it I would have to pay again as a refund had gone through, so now I would be double the payment down until the refund went through (3 to 5 days). No apology just said nothing they could do!! Never buying anything from here again, lazy staff, no customer service just wasted my time. Went to B&Q instead and got a better one for less money.

Don’t trust this retailer


Don’t trust this retailer. They will always find a way to charge you more money.

I purchased a bike four months ago, and during a normal ride one of the parts (the derailleur) snapped. Since the bike is still under warranty, I took it to Halfords for inspection. However, they told me I would have to pay for the replacement part because it supposedly isn’t covered under the warranty.

Absolutely ridiculous.

When you buy the bike, they say all the right things to convince you to make the purchase, but as soon as there’s a problem, they try to rip you off instead of helping. Very disappointed with both the product quality and customer service.

What an absolute joke Halfords is! I ordered an air con trigger online. They do two kinds, and I ordered the right one, but they gave me the wrong one. When I took it back, they couldn't refund my money to my card and put it on a gift card. What a joke Halfords is!

Customer service and escooter issues

Sent me an escooter (pure air 5 pro* suspension) that had a fault ( wouldn’t turn on)

Went to halfords to ask for repair, they said “We dont do repairs on pure escooters, not for a while.”

Went home unsure of what to do, searched various different ways to find put what the problem was, came to a conclusion that it was the battery.

Took a few screws off, put them back in because i didn't want to cause more problems, suprisingly, a screw was cracked and had broke, none of the other screws broke as i had applied the same amount of force on each screw ensuring they were tightly secured

Called them to make a complaint, unexpectedly they stated “ halfords does do repairs on pure scooters, not for a while.”

Said they would get back to me within 5-7 days, after 6 days with no reply, i called back and unfortunately they sent the email to the incorrect email address.

Had to wait another day for a reply. “ i called back because i was offered a replacement or a repair even though a store of theirs had said no, didn’t have much of a choice so i had to find the box and put everything back together in my own time for the replacement

Courier said they would come Friday and they are awaiting collection at 00:00, at 12:41 the said they would collect at 11:46 am - 12:46 am. It is now Saturday and i have had no reply or email as to why they haven’t come. I have lost precious time aswell as patience, it has been almost 2 weeks.

All this hastle for a single escooter

I just purchased the Halfords Riderr…

I just purchased the Halfords Riderr Vue Camera for my new e bike. Looked around for a helmet camera. Looked at youtube reviews. It seemed perfect.
It arrived Thursday 7 May. So excited. Uploaded the app, fantastic. Worked how to attach to my helmet. They gave 2 options, stick on or clip, I couldn't clip due to the style of my helmet.
Got it attached.
In the morning , as the helmet was just sitting on a stand overnight, comfortable. Not hanging. I noted the stick on came partially away. So I push harder. Left it, went to work, came home, while the two pads were stuck to my helmet, the plastic part, that attached came completely away.
It looked like the tape or glue they used failed. No reason. Apart from terrible part.
Called CS. While the young man attempted to just fob me off. Just go to the local store.
I am 65, not stupid, I asked for a manager. Nope too busy. I told him that I needed a GRN. I know this as I worked in logistics. And I know what I need. I ask if the store would refund me. As purchased on line. He said yes. I asked for the GRN again. He provided this eventually.
I also requested an email confirmation. He said he would send.
I took a risk, went to my local store. They asked for a GRN. I provided this with my order number. No problem, refund immediately.
It is disappointing as this camera was what want. Shame about the poor quality of the mounts. I hope Halfords takes this on board.

I booked a free bike health check at the Bescot branch, which states free repair. The staff member ben told me it couldn't be done because the bike wasn't purchased at Halfords, but it doesn't state that online, which is false advertising. Disgusted with the service as I had to travel to the branch on bike because I don't live in the area

Worst Customer service

I went to the store in Milton Keynes. When I went to the till area there was two staff there, one of the staff saw me he faced the other way. This is the third time I have noticed the staff doing this. The staff seems racist. If they don't want Asians or other ethnic people to go in to the shops they should write on front of the store. I have noticed this happened to me in the store in Bedford. When I asked the girl for a product she acted like she doesn't know what I was saying, I had to repeat twice.People are going in to spend money..At least you want the staff to acknowledge you.

Mill Lane

Mill Lane, Wallasey.
Once again a warning light came on my car. I called Roy at Halfords, Mill Lane, Wallasey. Briefly explained to Roy the problem.
Roy asked me to bring my car in after I finished work.
He looked at it for me and, using the scanning machine he seen what the problem was. Nothing serious and, he reset the problem for me.
This is the 3rd time in a few months that I've had a warning light and, Roy has always been able to sort it out for me (with his staff last time)
I wasn't charged for any of these and, I am so grateful.
I could easily have gone to another garage, been charged and would have been none the wiser.
Definitely a very trustworthy garage to use.

Do not buy this bike if you'll need repairs

Do not buy this bike if you think you will ever need to repair it! After an accident, needed to replace mudguards and chainguard only to discover that Halfords do not bother to supply replacement parts. Good job Britain doesn't have any potholes!

Unable to fit a car battery!

Ordered a battery and fitting from Halfords in Bridgwater for my focus RS. It was £199. Arrived before time and a young man came out to do the job. After messing about a bit I told him he had to remove the air box which he said was beyond what he was allowed to do when fitting batteries and all he could do was refund me. I had driven 30mins to be told this. A complete waste of time. A bit of good luck did come from this though as phoned the battery centre in Bridgwater after and drove there and the two old boys there sold and fitted a new battery to my RS while I waited and they were far cheaper. Anyone thinking of buying a car battery from Halfords please don't and give the battery centre a ring instead. You won't regret it.

Car battery was supposed to have a 5…

Car battery was supposed to have a 5 year guarantee guess what it wasn’t. After 18 months Halfords auto centre said it needs replacing it’s still on warranty get it changed at the store for free but they wouldn’t! Website has no terms or conditions regarding the warranty so it’s a SCAM. The hey also did not programme the new battery which is supposed to be done! Awful experience been a loyal customer for years but not anymore!! Stay away from Halfords

Went to buy a bike

Went to buy a bike. No stock. EIGHT DAYS to deliver.
Ordered online from the only store near me to show stock (hr away)
Email 4 hrs later to say its been cancelled, no explanation, no phone call.
Try to phone store , got through to a call centre who told me it had been cancelled and reordered for collection 5 days away. Asked to cancel it as this is no good to me. After trying to get through to the store, she had to ESCALATE it to somewhere else.
I now have to wait for this money to go back on my card.
A quick phone call could have saved all this hassle.
A similar bike has now been ordered from Argos for collection tmrw morning after 9.
