Disappointed with my recent experience at the Newcastle-under-Lyme Halfords branch. I took my bike in for a puncture repair and paid for a new inner tube and fitting service. After getting home, the tyre went flat again because a sharp thorn had been left inside the tyre and was not checked during the repair.
I then had to pay again for another tube and service, but the issue still was not properly resolved, so I ended up fitting the new tube myself at home. When I returned to explain the situation, the front desk staff were not helpful and made me feel like my complaint was not being taken seriously.
As a regular customer, I expected better customer service and a proper inspection before replacing the tube. Hopefully this feedback helps improve the service for other customers

I HAVE JUST HAD THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE EVER!! I PLACED AN ORDER ON LINE. ALL THE ITEMS ACCORDING TO THE WEBSITE WERE IN STOCK. HOWEVER, I THEN GOT A PHONE CALL SAYING THEY WERE OUT OF STOCK BUT THEY COULD GET IN A WEEK OR TO CANCEL. SO I CANCELLED. SAT HERE OVER TWO WEEKS WAITING FOR MY REFUND WHEN A STORE PHONES ME TELLING ME TO COLLECT MY ITEMS?? I THEN SPOKE TO CUSTOMER SERVICE WHO WERE SO RUDE! THEY SAID THAT IF I WANTED TO CANCEL I NEED TO DRIVE TO THE STORE AND CANCEL AGAIN!!

Halfords at Ashington
I took my Range Rover to Halfords at Ashington to have 4 wheel allignment carried out after a new rear sub-frame and many new suspension parts had been fitted by my local garage.
After waiting a while with the car on the hoist the mechanic told me it could not be done. He suggested that it did not have the correct method of adjustment with some bolts being wrong.
I left without an argument as it became obvious he did not know how to carry out the adjustments.
I then took the car to Kwik Fit where the work was done correctly.
Needless to say I will not be returning to Halfords for any future work.

Great service by Wayne at Workington halfords in the bike department I just turned up with my sons new bike he repaired the dropper seat cable and informed me that the slime I had paid for to be put in the tyres had not been done due to the tyre valve type on my sons new bike ,which I had to collect from the Preston store the night before as there was no home delivery and Preston was the closest store to pick up from cumbria , got a refund for the slime and very pleased he sorted the problem there and then
I’m really frustrated with how Halfords…
I’m really frustrated with how Halfords lists products on their website. There are several bikes shown as available, but you can’t actually buy them. They aren't available for delivery or collection anywhere in Scotland.
To make matters worse, when I called the helpline, nobody could tell me when or if these bikes will be back in stock. It’s misleading to keep items on the website that don't exist in the real world. Total waste of time for anyone looking to actually buy a bike
Terrible customer service. Complete mess of system between online and in store
Ordered an item online for store collection. The date for collection was emailed to me. Went to collect it on the date and it hadn't arrived. Staff had no idea where it was and couldn't give a timeline for its delivery - just a vague "we will call you when it's in".
Went online to speak to Halfords live chat. They told me it would take a week for someone to get back to me about the status of my order. Not sure there are many other major online retailers who are so bad at basic order tracking.
Last time I'll buy anything from Halfords.

My son flew over handlebars- new bike checked by Halfords "specialist"
Bought my son a bike from your Kirkcaldy shop on 29th April. Almost £400. I also paid extra for your "specialist" to check it before we left, because that is the whole point of paying for it - so I know the bike is safe.
Today the front wheel came off while he was riding. He flew over the handlebars. He came home crying, can't calm down, scared.
If this had happened on a road or going downhill I would not be writing this right now. I would be in the hospital with my son. Or worse. I keep thinking about it and I feel sick.
I paid your guy to check this bike. Either he didn't actually check it and just took my money, or he checked and somehow missed the front wheel. I don't know which is worse honestly.
I want a refund of the bike and the check fee. I want someone from Halfords to come pick this bike up - I'm not bringing it back to the shop, I want it inspected properly so you can see for yourselves what you sold me. And I want to know what you are going to do about it, because the next kid this happens to might not walk away.
To other parents reading this - don't just trust the "checked by Halfords" sticker on the bike. Check the wheels yourself. Pull on them. I wish I had.

Wheelchair Support
My mum and I visited the Halfords branch at Straiton Retail Park this afternoon and spoke with John and his colleague (apologies, I didn't catch his name!)
I had gone in to ask whether they might be able to advise me on removing the armrests from my manual wheelchair, as they were causing discomfort and preventing me from moving as easily and quickly as I would like.
To be honest, I didn’t have particularly high hopes and assumed the best option would be to buy an Allen key and attempt to wrestle them off myself. However, to my pleasant surprise, John and his colleague immediately offered to help. They successfully removed both armrests and also took the time to explain to my mum how they had done it, as well as how to prevent the armrests from becoming stiff or sticky in future.
As a wheelchair user, it’s these small acts of kindness and willingness to help that make such a significant difference.

If I were able to give zero stars this is what you would see. Young guy been sent to fit my tyres. First time using the service and was not impressed. When he arrived at 15:45, he was telling me that I was his last call and that he would be going out for the football game that was on today, Rangers vs Celtic. He took a look round the car and said, nah.. won’t be able to do it. I said to him, you having a laugh. He replied and said, nah, won’t be able to, could maybe do three. Then he went round the car again, was like in fact, will only be able to do the one. You’ll need to get new wheel nuts. Said to him, how will you not be able to get them on and off. Everyone else seems to do just fine with them. He’s replied I can get them off. Not sure about getting them back on. Told him to leave at this point. His attitude and response was just disrespectful and distasteful to be perfectly honest. More motivated for the auld firm, than doing what he’s paid for.

I booked a mobile tyre replacement
I booked a mobile tyre replacement . Waited in for the whole 12 hour slot and they didnt arrive and didnt contact me. I called to complain and was told they would rebook for 3 days later !!They clearly accepted an order they could not fulfill and lied about contacting me. They had no answer when I asked how I'm supposed to get to work the next 2 days. I strongly recommend you do not book this service.

I recently made a purchase that went wrong. I made a complaint... nothing in reply. I complained again... nothing in reply. I complained again... still nothing.
A staff member told me that my complaint emails had been passed on to customer services. Then they're crap I said. The staff member said "That's Halfords for you"!
I can only assume that Halfords prefer to inflict themselves on their victims with impunity. Its seems that my views mirror what other victims have been saying in the past.
It appears that they don't even respond to negative reviews. Halfords have seemingly no respect for the people that pay their wages.

I recently had a new car battery fitted…
I recently had a new car battery fitted by a Halfords technician on my drive. He arrived earlier than I expected and promptly started to remove my old battery and fit the new one; the car started first time, as you would expect.
The next day, I went to start my car and got nothing—just a click. After a few attempts at starting the car, accompanied by some cursing and swearing, I opened the bonnet to discover the positive terminal lead was loose. Fortunately, my knowledge of cars was sufficient for me to get a spanner and tighten the nut for a secure connection.
Maybe I could have reported the fitter at my local Halfords store, but I chose not to. He was a friendly enough guy doing his job and he simply made a mistake; I wouldn't have received any satisfaction from getting him disciplined. That is why I have not named the location of the store where I ordered the battery and have provided an incorrect date for the experience.

Havant Halfords customer service. What customer service!!!!
Ordered an extension lead online click and collect from the Havant branch. They had them in stock and I would get an email when ready to collect. The email arrived to say my order was ready to collect. I drove 6 miles to the store just as I got there I received another email to say my order had been cancelled!! I went into the store to see if they had another type but found the extension lead I originally ordered by the till. I asked to speak to the manager as I wanted to know why it had been cancelled and he said they couldn’t find them in store!! Then they said if I wanted to purchase it I would have to pay again as a refund had gone through, so now I would be double the payment down until the refund went through (3 to 5 days). No apology just said nothing they could do!! Never buying anything from here again, lazy staff, no customer service just wasted my time. Went to B&Q instead and got a better one for less money.

I purchased a bike four months ago, and during a normal ride one of the parts (the derailleur) snapped. Since the bike is still under warranty, I took it to Halfords for inspection. However, they told me I would have to pay for the replacement part because it supposedly isn’t covered under the warranty.
Absolutely ridiculous.
When you buy the bike, they say all the right things to convince you to make the purchase, but as soon as there’s a problem, they try to rip you off instead of helping. Very disappointed with both the product quality and customer service.
