An extremely comfortable low-cost…
An extremely comfortable low-cost carrier with friendly staff and a plane that was maintained to perfection. The service provided was beyond amazing!
This was the worst airline
This was the worst airline I have ever flown with. We booked 10 tickets for a family trip well in advance of the trip. We asked for 8 adults and 2 children. We paid. After that we had nothing but trouble. Customer service was not responding, only after 10 days of calling and mailing was a dispute settled. We were not able to check in in advance because the website was reportedly broken. So we were placed anywhere in the aircraft but next to eachother. The flight was delayed by a full hour due to an overbooking of another passenger with everyone waiting on the plane. On arrival the luggage of most passengers was missing, and only because some placed trackers in their luggage were we able to convince ground personnel that the luggage had actually arrived with the plane and was somewhere on the airport. On the way back, 2 of our group of 10 were overbooked, while checkin took forever. And not until a ground personnel manager was demanded for was that dispute settled. All in all, we will never fly air Malta again, and I recommend to do the same.
Great service and food
The experience was fantastic. The flight was comfortable and the service provided by the airline staff was exceptional. The good stuff was the delicious in-flight meals, the comfortable seating, and the variety of entertainment options. I would highly recommend Air Malta for anyone! Thanks!Great service and food, quality experience! A+++++
The worst customer support ever
The worst customer support ever. I called to see if my email has arrived and everything was good. Polo took the call and he didn't want to help me. I asked 3 times if he could check if the email has arrived. Worst customer support ever. He didn' t want to help me.

Brought us to malta for a good price, service was oke
Brought us to malta for a good price. No extra cost for seat selection YEAH!
Only the hostess on board were a little anoyed while serving if someone needed to pass to go to the toilet. The attitude on this is definitely someting that can improve.
But besides that it was a good experience, online check in worked great by the way.
I see a lot of bad reviews, sorry to so that. Did notice that many airlines don't work on active asking reviews and rate on average much lower then webshops. Maybe satisfied people don't do review so much and if airlines ask everybody a review a more reliable average review value might become visible.
Extremely Poor Customer Service-Do not fly with them
We are travelling on 1st April 2023 from London to Malta.
I tried to add in a check-in baggage but, their website does not allow this.
I called Booking.com (through whom I had booked) but they couldn't do it either.
Chat service is completely useless and just sends automated messages. So no help from there.
I was told the only way to add in checked baggage is by calling an International Number! That is just unacceptable.
Surely in this digital age Air Malta must have provision to add extra baggage via the website?! I never ever had issues with any other airlines before and I have travelleda lot. I am not spending money on calling their international number just for a simple issue like adding a baggage!
And finally the Trump card! None of the numbers provided by them work. After being pushed and bullied by them, I decided to call the international numbers provided.
NONE OF THEM WORK!!
Avoid this Airlines at all cost.

Fly With Someone Else. Good luck!
I have travelled with this airline previously, and managed to upgrade my seating via email. Now I am directed to a +356 overseas number (Malta) as directed by helpful soul via email, (Long wait, not feasible unless you are very rich). I cannot get to them in the UK because the number on their web gives 02076600543, which is Goggle ads, (expletive removed) an 0800 number isn't identified by the phone network and a duff number. Worse still, Mercury Holidays with whom I booked my holiday employ incompetents as customer front line agents, and can only provide numbers I tried already. Air Malta has a Manage Your Booking link. I cannot upgrade on line because it states that my customer contact details are missing, even though it recognises both my Surname and my flight detail. When I try to add the details, it sends me back to the previous page. I'm afraid to ask Mercury Holidays for help, to protect my sanity. I can't blame Boris Johnson for every friggin' thing. What is going on in our country these days? It's enough to make a vicar swear! SICK OF IT!

Our plane caught on fire and had to an emergency landing. The staff was very unprofessional, and they refuse to pay out any reclaim. Avoid this company at any cost!!!
Airline or Circus?
Outbound from LGW it was obvious at the gate that many passengers had hand luggage well in excess of allowances, but no attempt to enforce resulting in chaos on board. For an airline in deep financial trouble they are missing out on all the revenue that should be collected. On arrival at MLA during a storm, they took nearly an hour to deplane passengers - amusing to watch stairs, buses and baggage handlers come and go with nobody apparently in charge and no info from the crew. Then another hour for baggage to arrive with no info again. Return from MLA - no dedicated baggage drop and inadequate number of desks open with slow disinterested staff manning them, resulting in ridiculously long queues. Flight called and told at the gate that they had changed my seat despite my checking in the day before. Told them of the reasons I should not be put in an emergency row , but told they couldn't change it as it was because of a late change of aircraft - as the AM fleet and current leased aircraft all have a common seating configuration this was a clear lie. Them the hand baggage situation again. Onboard, overpriced and very mediocre food. EUR 3.50 for a small instant coffee and 7.50 for a Ciabatta that you have to play 'hunt the filling' with. Cabin crew - one very snappy one shouting at the lady next to me about removing headphones, which she had done and was just holding them. Avoid Air Malta.
Air Malta is an absolute joke
It is an absolute joke that Air Malta does not have an app in 2023. Plus the prices are absolutely ridiculous. I don't know what revenue strategy they try but should definitely reconsider it. It make zero sense. A ticket in economy costs 430euros and a ticket in business class 290euros...on their website, at the same time, and for the same destination. I understand this is not a low cost carrier however it really acts like one. Too bad you don't have other options if you want to reach the destination...
Awful
Awful. Always delayed, long waiting lines, chaos everywhere. Almost unbelievable that a company like this can survive. Even Ryanair is heaven compared to this.
Tried to book flights online
Tried to book flights online. Could not complete the bookings. The site was having trouble.
Had to call and book via phone call. Our tickets cost $555 for two instead of the $357 advertised online. I understood when speaking to the agent that the cost was 'for both tickets' not 'price each'.
When I got the receipt I called customer service ( a US number) and was told that I had to call Malta...that person could not help me. Why was this number listed for customer service?
I called Malta and left a message. No response. Sent an email. No response. Sent another email. Received a most unprofessional response: Basically stating that the agent told you what the fare cost, you agreed, so there will be no credit.
Will never fly this airline again!
Don’t take expensive luggage
My case came back battered and chipped! How do you even chip a solid plastic case! I tried to complain and they insisted they need a report which was not given to me or offered to me at the airport.
Terrible customer service from Air…
Terrible customer service from Air Malta.
Air Malta Lost my suitcase for the whole of my 1 week cruise holiday. All of my holiday ruined with no suitcase and none of my personal items.
Put in a claim on 17 October, sent a form to complete and nothing since Nov 2022! Chased 4 times and still nothing! No telephone number to call either!
Terrible communication and bad experience! I was told at Malta airport there would be compensation offered. Clearly not received anything!
Refund still not received after 6 months
Still waiting for my refund from air malta. I paid extra so my party of 6 could sit together, as two were children aged 2 and 5. We did not get the seats we paid for and were split up. We returned from our holiday on the 1st of August 2022. Despite dozens of emails I am still waiting for my refund. Appalling service from an airline that does notcare.
Broken luggage, no reply
Went to a business trip from London to Malta and at the time I collect my luggage I realised that my luggage was broken at the wheel.
send a email at the same day 15/11/22 reporting the accident and they replied a month later on 13/12/22 me requesting me to fill up a form attached, but the email didn't included the form, so I send a new email pointing out the missing file and they only replied me on 18/12/22, I have sent the documents, photos and form completed at the same day and have no replay until today 24/01/23.
I implore you not to use this shambolic airline.
Air Malta are acting like the worst low cost carrier, whilst charging their tickets at a premium.
The quality of an airline can be determined by how they handle situations when things go wrong. In Air Malta’s case the customer service was non-existent and shambolic.
On the return flight KM102 from Malta to London Heathrow (3rd January), there was over a 3 hour delay for the passengers in obtaining luggage, this is longer than the actual flight itself! This also included the luggage of special assistance passengers. There was no onsite Air Malta customer service to assist and advise what was going on or when to expect our luggage.
Due to the evening flight and long ongoing drive home my family had to leave without our luggage. This meant I had the unfortunate situation of dealing with the central customer services based in Malta to try and recover my luggage. To date Air Malta’s central customer services have still not responded to my emails. Their advice provided by phone was nonsensical. Due to no local phone number, I had to pay international rates to contact them for their absolutely useless support.
Subsequently, I drove 3.5 hours back to Heathrow at a later date in my own time and at my own expense to see if I could obtain my luggage. Fortunately this was successful, however I found that my luggage had been sitting unsecured in terminal 4’s luggage reclaim for 4 days. There was nothing to stop people taking the whole suitcase or personal possessions.
To sum up I will never use this airline again, this airline is an insult to the nation of Malta.
AirMalta has gone down the drain
AirMalta has gone down the drain. A bad experience at all stages using this Airline which used to be a good one. Delays in check in (computer system continuously down), business class tickets did not allow for priority boarding or even any advantage in terms of seating (all passengers in business were sat in exactly the same seat configuration so cannot figure out why they con people into buying business class). The boarding was more akin to a free for all mess. If I could give 0 to AirMalta at this stage I would, but trust pilot only allows a minimum of 1 star.
