Had to pay for hand luggage, which was a misunderstanding on our part but then gave us misinformation, let us through and then on the shuttle bus came in and wouldn’t listen to us when we explained that we only had an hour to get our next flight and couldn’t go through baggage claim. Refused to let us speak and threatened to call security on us and then told everyone in the shuttle bus that the flight would now be delayed because of us even though the whole time we were very respectful and calm. Bonus: they also made me pay 40 euro for my personal item bag that I explicitly said would fit and fit on their flight 5 days ago, which of course surprise surprise DID IN FACT FIT! I payed 40 Euros for NOTHING! If I could give them less than 1 star review I absolutely would!

I had a nightmare experience with Air Malta. They overbooked my flight (I got told it's common they overbook by 1%), denied me boarding, and then left me stranded at London Heathrow Airport without arranging accommodation or meals as promised. As a young woman, I felt scared for my safety not being allowed to sleep in the airport and being thousands of km's from home (coming off a 30+ hour flight from Australia). After 8 months of waiting, I'm still waiting for reimbursement for the denied boarding and hotel expenses. Their lack of communication and failure to provide compensation is unacceptable. They even suggested I walk to hotels with all my luggage, creating immense back pain, after they were already checked and found to be fully booked past 10 pm at night. I urge others to avoid flying with Air Malta as even the deputy manager suggested 'I should have just stayed with a friend'. Despite not having any in town.
Worst customer service
My suitcase arrived damaged after flying with this airline. The suitcase, which was only 5 months old was worth over a 100€. Air Malta offered me a compensation of 69€!!!!! Come on! So in order to buy a new suitcase , I have to pay part of it out of my pocket because they offered me such a miserable compensation for a size M suitcase. Unfortunately I had no choice but to take the offer. I sent my bank details for the transfer. This happened on 28.02.24. I send my bank details on the 01.03… I still haven’t seen a penny from them!!

P&O Arvia contracted Maleth Aero to fly some guests for their Caribbean season commencement Oct 2023-March 2024.
My husband and I were guests flying from Manchester airport to Antigua for a Caribbean new year cruise.
We had paid P&O for a superior experience,we didn’t pay for a budget experience which is what we had. Firstly, we were delayed by 5.25 hours , we’ve submitted our claim to Maleth Aero via the claim letter that was delivered to our cabin. I’ve not received any acknowledgment via email which I submitted on 18th Jan 3024.
Our total experience was upsetting and extremely stressful, not to mention the poor unprofessional service we received on this flight, 2 toilets were out of order, one drink offered with our meal and later tea/coffee, soft drink trolley came round but not enough milk so you had to have either black / tea and coffee. The air conditioning wasn’t working properly, carpet was taped down in places, some seats were broken, no duty free and no offers to buy any beverages. The aircraft was old and tired and all wording on the plane was in Arabic.
Our flights were sold as a package, with all money paid to P&O. P&O should be obligated to ensure that there subcontractors adhere to regulations, especially as they are directing guests to the Maleth website to investigate compensation claims.
There’s no address for Maleth aero in the UK nor do they subscribe to ADR scheme so any court case in the uk will be difficult.
I’ve emailed P&O twice, and am waiting a response from them too. I hope you will do the dutiful thing and payout the money that is owed.
Simply Awful Customer Support
I had a holiday booked and due to health reasons I couldn't go.
The insurance company simply asked for an email confirmation or letter from the airline confirming that the tickets were unused.
I have been waiting for a response since the 29th of January 2024.
The past few months, AirMalta has been a disgrace, for anyone reading this review, you will be way better off using budget airlines like RyanAir as the flights are cheaper and customer service is better.

company is half owned by the local government and half by ryanair ,you can imagine how bad the customer experience is. I went back and forward with them over 180 Euros because they made me pay for luggage telling me that my ticket does not include extra luggage even though it did. When i returned to Malta I asked the local office if my ticket included baggage and the guy goes "Yes of course it does you even carried it on the way there" i then told him that on the way back they did not let me carry the same luggage and charged me. He was embarrassed and then send me a refund. I really hope that such company that reflects our image as Maltese people to the international community should pick their workers carefully and make sure that they do not lack comprehension skills......

This Maleth Aero airline was used as a charter flights by P and O to and from Manchester UK to Barbados.
The airline seats were very uncomfortable and narrow.No in flight entertainment for a long haul flight is totally unacceptable.The service you received regarding drinks and food was dependant on were your seat row was on the plane.On outward flight my food was just about warm because I was in seat mid plane also was only offered alcoholic drink once during main meal.When snack was presented I asked for orange drink and was advised none now available as they had run out of same.
I will never fly with Maleth Aero ever again even if it means not being able to cruise with P and O due to same.
On returning to Manchester airport from Barbados the airline fiasco continued because we had to wait over 2.5 hours to collect our luggage from carousel because of a mechanical issue with the aircraft resulting in ground staff being unable to gain access to aircraft hold to unload luggage due to a faulty lock on the aeroplane door.

Never book with AirMalta
Honestly the most frustrating experience with this airline. A 12 hour delay back in August 2022 and no paid compensation to date having gone back and forth multiple times. The citizens advised bureau advised me to escalate to the aviationADR. After months of waiting for a claim determination, they told me "Unfortunately, Airmalta airline does not subscribe to ADR and, therefore, this case is out of scope for us here."

Third Rate Airline food was atrocious
The on board food was atrocious, the main meal was cottage pie which would not pass taste test in a NHS or old people's home. There was only one glass of wine per person.
Staff onboard where constantly apologizing for the lack of water or any drinks onboard. The toilet near are seats was keep blocking up, which staff serving food had to clean. This very old plane for a long haul flight, no in flight entertainment, this was a cargo plane out-fitted for people.
The plane was flying at a low altitude, on are 9 hours flight Manchester to Barbados, we were in clouds, so we had turbulence most of the flight.
We where not surprised reading the news story, about the return flight dropping hundreds of feet, plus having to emergency land in the Bahamas, with injured passages taken to local hospital. This is a ongoing PR disaster for P&O, who haven't given any thoughts to passengers comfort or safety only the cheapest way to transport people.
This is a down market, cheap and nasty air line.
I will not be using P&O again.

after the check in I received a notice for the delay and a voucher for a snak.
Asking for the delay reasons the answer was "because of strong wind". Unfortunately, all tthe other flight were on time.
We took of at 11.15 pm. No assistance, none to speak to ask for information, no availability of the refund forms provided by the EU rules.
In 79 years of my life I have never experienced such a disorganised qir company, even in South America in the so called banana republics

Air Malta cancelled my return flight as I had to buy a new flight to get to Malta one day later. Couldn't notify the airline as their call center closes at night. They didn't bother to inform me the return flight had been automatically cancelled since I was a no show to the first flight, despite the fact that I had booked my new flight one day later with their company. Obviously all their flights were fully booked by the time I noticed it was cancelled at check in, and their solution was to offer me a tax refund. Great policies and customer service.
