I ordered a component from Vektra, and they cancelled my order days later claiming a "bad zip code," which makes no sense. The money was already taken from my account, and they told me I have to wait 45 days for a refund! Customer service is impossible to reach by phone, and they take days to reply to simple messages. Avoid this shop if you want to keep your sanity.

I bought a Vektra kettle because someone I knew had bought one and it seemed a great idea for saving energy. However, it stopped working after 6 months. It was replaced but now the replacement has also stopped working after 5 months. I'm now asking for a refund but there is no response from customer service after several days waiting.

Vektra VEK1054 here. Failed just after 2 years (my £20 cheapo still going strong after 5 years). Customer service very poor and dismissive. Suspect it's the base that becomes faulty on these machines (ours stopped switching off at designated temperature).... base is not available to buy, nor to be offered to buy by customer service, no apology or assistance offered - simply: it's out of warranty, tough. So much for 'saving the planet one cup of tea at a time'..... mine's off for recycling.

For me, the thermal kettle which avoids reboiling, and can be set at a lower temperature is a fantastic idea, let down by it's longevity. Next time I'll buy a cheaper model so when that blows up I'll be less out of pocket.

Avoid Vektra like the plague.

Poor workmanship as product doesn’t last, customer service is next to non existent, no response for days, obfuscation at every turn, you provide a receipt it’s not the one they are looking for etc, more delays, no offer of repair then more radio silence! For the price i expected a better quality product but you’ll be lucky if you get 12 months and for the price you buy a cheap kettle for £20 that will last twice as long and you’ll be £80 richer with less hassle!

So called "eco friendly" kettle, vektra state the only plastic used is in the trim and handle. The spout and inner are plastic, so with every pour you get millions of micro plastics and chemicals released!

First one stopped working (wouldn't switch on) after only a few days. It was replaced quickly and without quibble (like they are used to this happening). That one works but when it boils it switches off but then on again and off two or three times until finally staying off, thus wasting energy and producing unwanted extra humidity in the room. I don't trust that it will reliably turn itself off so I cannot leave the room after turning it on.

Terrible customer service, sent faulty kettle back nearly 2 months ago, don’t respond until you complain via another route then respond once and go back to not responding, pathetic after 3 Vektra kettles over 10 year this will be our last

Disgraceful customer service!

Bought a Vektra kettle in Nov 24 which is clearly faulty. Sent the item back at my own expense. Told that the product is fine (it definitely is not), and they are sending it back. I told them not to send it back and either send a replacement or refund. This was in Early Feb and I have heard nothing at all from them.

I don’t actually understand how a company in this day and age can operate such awful customer service.

This kettle is so bad that it has motivated me to write my first ever product review! We have a series 4 Vektra kettle. I completely agree with the other reviews - this product broke within about 9 months. We have had 5 replacement kettle bases in the last three years, but we won’t bother any more.

Vektra market themselves as an environmentally friendly company, but they clearly have a manufacturing fault and aren’t willing to address it, causing a huge amount of plastic and electronics waste. The customer service is also terrible and I usually have to email them several times before they reply.

Do not buy from this company…their products are nothing short of a scam.

We were bought a Vektra kettle as a wedding present to replace the insulated Seimens Porsche kettle which we had been using for over 15 years - This kettle sounds good on the packaging, however, its design and build quality were poor and it failed after less than nine months.

Vektra's Customer Service team were poor at dealing with this, repeatedly failing to respond to emails and then sent a replacement to the wrong address, miles away, despite asking me to confirm the delivery address in one of their emails. They have not responded to the last email I sent them on 5th March 2023.

I would stay well clear of this product and company.

Would agree with others, build quality very poor, not worth the price. Expect to need a new one after 12 months, good idea otherwise , lid is the weak point in the design not durable looses seal and ability to sustain temperature.

Bought this kettle to save energy & to protect my disabled daughter from burning herself. With its cool double wall, large base, adjustable temperature, clear blue led dispjay and more importantly the lid stays sealed if tipped over. Brilliant

It’s also great that we don’t have to keep boiling the water over & over. I wonder how much we save each year from this unusual design?

As regards the criticism towards this kettle. Anybody with a basic grasp of physics/ engineering will understand just how difficult it is to design something that tries to hold on to hot water whilst not venting off to much steam. So expect some spluttering into the cup when you pour it straight from boiling - it’s physics. Besides I’ve yet to see any other major kettle company try to resolve this issue - good effort. :)

but it's a terrible, horrible kettle and it's very expensive for something that fails at the only job it has.

pours terribly, burns your thumb while holding it open - it's just a terrible kettle.
Being a moron, I recycled the box along with the other holiday stuff and now I'm out over £100.

Great idea and wonderful kettle whilst it lasted. Failed after 9 months.
Customer service excellent, new kettle sent within 2 days.
Sadly new kettle stopped working within 6 days.
Very disappointed and ecologically terrible.
My last very cheap 'normal' kettle lasted 12 years.
Wonderful idea, but build quality very poor. Great shame.
