I was having gearbox problems with my Ford Ecosport . I took it to Fords for assessment & the quoted £7000.00 for replacement, I remembered that I took out a warranty when I purchased my car from car giant . I called them & they directed me to contact Nick at Brittanic Auto Transmission. He arranged for collection & advised what was wrong. I was apprehensive giving him authorisation to identify cause of fault but after speaking to Nick he made me see that the car with no gearbox working was not the way forward & had to be fixed either way . Within a day of authorising Brittanic then liaised with spectrum & Andrew came back to me with good news . My claim was successful. Big Thank you to Andrew Ward for looking in to it ASAP . Thanks to spectrum team for returning faith

Do not use this company. I took out tyre and alloy insurance for a brand new car. I was not made aware that pictures had to be provided - why this is a requirement on a brand new car I still do not understand! A used car I can see why this would be required. I have had multiple previous tyre and alloy insurance policies and this has NEVER been a requirement. Unfortunately, I slightly damaged an alloy before being made aware of this stipulation. I was confronted with complete inflexibility and a complete lack of customer service or even appreciation of a customer. I ultimately decided to cancel the policy and get a refund. It's a shame as Direct Gap who sold the policy are very customer focused. Avoid Spectrum and find another insurance company that won't rip you off.

I had an issue with my car which was covered by an extended warranty taken out when I bought the car from Motorpoint. I was extremely impressed by the efficiency and quick response to my call and the fact that follow emails kept me informed of what stage my claim was at. This morning (only 3 days after my initial call) dealing with Andrew was the very best experience of customer service that I have ever received. He kept
me on the line whilst he liaised with my garage and then with his technical team and was able to resolve the issue there and then, sending me a text with the agreed recompense. I feel he was sympathetic with my request, very courteous and professional. A credit to his company.

I have a 3 year extended warranty with Spectrum Services for my car.
They have just authorised a £300 job to be done on my car with no quibble whatsoever!!!!!
Highly impressed with how quickly efficiently and courteously they completed this for me plus regular correspondence throughout!!

If you’re ever hesitant about taking out an extended warranty, I highly recommend contacting Spectrum Insurance Service first. I recently reached out to Spectrum to make a claim, and the administrators were extremely helpful and polite—both during my initial call to report the issue and when I followed up to check whether the repair had been approved.
Emily approved the repair promptly, and her service was flawless. She is a real credit to the organisation.

Pay £700 for an extended warranty through motor point

No warning to check your service dates (product sold fully serviced....HA)
DELIGHTED TO VOID YOUR WARRANTY with no refund when rejected
My advice. Print all your money off in £5 notes and leave them next to your toilet. Much better value and at least you're pulling your own trousers down for the money

Update. Reasons provided don't really justify the rejection
Businesses who handle large sums of money for a service should provide reminders and clearer expectations. Particularly when a service needs completing within 4 months of purchase.
No goodwill. No sympathy. No refund despite being voided for 90% + of the length of the warranty. Not good enough. They do not value your custom. They do all they can to avoid paying out and leaving you stranded

I am posting this to warn every driver, especially fellow taxi drivers, to stay far away from Spectrum Insurance and Car Giant White City. I was upsold a "specialist" taxi policy for £1,600—specifically paying a £400 premium over standard drivers—on the promise that my income would be protected. Instead, these companies have left me in a state of extreme financial distress.
The Reality of Their "Service":
Deliberate Misdirection: When my hybrid cooling system failed, Spectrum gave me ambiguous instructions that were a setup for failure. They failed to explain the pre-authorization process, leaving me to pay £2,652.62 out of pocket in good faith, which they then used as a technicality to refuse reimbursement.
Systematic Denial: When the issue recurred weeks later, I followed their "proper procedure" to the letter. They still refused to pay a single penny toward the additional £565.00 bill. This proves that their procedures are nothing but a smokescreen to avoid paying valid claims.
Financial Ruin: I have been forced to carry over £3,200 in repairs on high-interest credit cards, accruing massive debt while struggling to pay my mortgage. As a taxi driver, my car is my only source of income. Spectrum’s passivity and lies have caused me months of unnecessary stress and pushed my household finances to the breaking point.
The Verdict:
Car Giant White City and Spectrum Insurance are misleading liars. They are quick to take your money at the point of sale but will abandon you the moment you actually need the protection you paid for. They have shown zero regard for the fact that they are jeopardizing a working person’s home and livelihood.
Do not trust a word they tell you. They do not provide insurance; they provide expensive pieces of paper and then move the goalposts to ensure you are left carrying the bill.
I am finished playing their games. I am now demanding a final response and will be taking this straight to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) for a full investigation into their predatory practices.
Made a phone call to spectrum and they dealt with it straight away garage was local and it was sorted with no problems
