I would highly recommend Simpson millar to anyone looking for legal support with a hearing loss claim.
I was represented by Martina Boyle throughout my claim, and from the initial consultation through to settlement, I felt that my case was handled professionally and with my best interests in mind. Making a claim for hearing loss can be quite a daunting process, particularly when you are not familiar with the legal side of things, but they took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure I understood what was happening at each stage.
Communication was one of the things I was particularly pleased with. Whenever I had questions or needed an update, I was able to get an answer, and I never felt like I was being left in the dark about the progress of my claim. They explained the process, the evidence required and the various stages of negotiations in a way that was straightforward and easy to understand.
What impressed me most was the way my claim was handled during the settlement process. I felt that my solicitor properly understood the circumstances surrounding my hearing loss and was prepared to negotiate on my behalf rather than simply accepting the first offer. They gave me clear advice about the offers being made and the potential options available to me, which allowed me to make an informed decision.
The claim has now been settled and I am very happy with the outcome and the compensation I received. Obviously, every case is different and nobody can guarantee a particular result, but I genuinely feel that I received a fair settlement and that my solicitor did everything they could to achieve the best possible outcome for me.
Overall, I found the whole experience professional, straightforward and reassuring. Legal claims can be stressful, but having someone who knows what they are doing and who keeps you informed makes a huge difference.

After 3+ painful years of an injury claim being settled i was recently lucky to have Paul Stevens assigned to my case. I cant put into words how greatful I am this happend. Felt like a foreign call centre who only want large prospective payouts
Making an enquiry with SM felt like calling a foreign call centre. It’s clearly a money making business.
After making an online enquiry and sending a long summary, I was then bombarded with calls and emails.
First red flag.
When I could return their call I was struggling to understand the call taker and the line kept breaking up.
My name was taken with all details and I had to provide a summary, even though I had emailed this. Apparently they couldnt find my online form.
Second red flag.
I was asked to repeat myself and give a summary. I gave one item from a long list and was interrupted asking “is there any physical injury”. The word “physical” was repeated numerous times.
It was then clear to me this firm just wants the big ££££ claims, not low level duty of care etc.
Call handlers are clearly told to listen out for prospective big claims. Once I made one comment which wasn’t a leg being accidentally cut off, he wasn’t interested in hearing the rest.

After Having an accident at work…
After Having an accident at work Simpson Millar took my case on. Shazia Ahmed was my appointed solicitor.
Shazia had my best interests at heart. Taking on a big company re H&S personal injury and the likelihood of a court case. On occasion talking to Shazia on the phone. She was always polite friendly and would allow me to explain in detail, without cutting me short. Towards the end it looked unlikely that I would get the out come I wanted. Shazia pushed back on the other parties offer, after having a conversation with me.
Shazia worked her magic and got me the compensation I deserved.
It’s been a long drawn out process which has been handled in a professional manner. Shazia has shown great empathy and fought hard to get the result I was due.
