Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the increase in premium when changing your vehicle, particularly as you considered it to be a like-for-like replacement.
The price for policy changes comes directly from the underwriter. As your intermediary, we are not able to change or challenge the premium they have provided.
However, we would be happy to see if we can find a more competitive option for you. If you send us your policy details to socialresponders@bglgroup.co.uk we can review the price against the other underwriters available on our panel and see whether there is an alternative that may be more suitable.
Your case will be dealt with by BISL Limited, who arrange and administer your car insurance policy on behalf of RAC.

I got my quote and was just about to…
I got my quote and was just about to buy it when I realised I had put 1st September instead of 31st August (just 1 day) so I went into edit and changed the date and it went up by £9. When i queried this with the online rep Michael he told me that the nearer the time of renewal the more expensive it becomes. I’ve never heard so much rubbish in my life and i told him no thank you. So I went elsewhere. If they are going to rip you of like that what on earth will they be like if I claimed for an accident.

Insurance premiums are calculated based on a range of factors, and the price can change when details such as the policy start date are amended. While we appreciate that a one-day difference may not appear significant, the quote generated can be affected by the date selected.
We’re sorry that the explanation you received from Michael did not reassure you or provide the clarity you were looking for. We certainly would not want you to feel that you were being misled or treated unfairly.

I rang the RAC to declare a speeding…
I rang the RAC to declare a speeding fine and was told to ring back with the official details given me by the police. When I did ring back with the details of this fine, I was informed that I needed different information, which I didn't have to hand. Still unresolved as I don't know what else is needed.
