Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs. We transferred all of our money to our lyk card. And second day in they BLOCKED out card!! We were in a different country with absolutely no money. They refused to unblock it until they received paper copies bank statements. We threatened them with the police and low and behold the next day they unblocked it. Absolute scam

No Issues

Just returned from 2 weeks in Orlando. We had no issues at all with the card. It was accepted every where we went. The app was really easy to use and we were able to easily keep track of what we had spent. When we returned it was really easy to change $ back to £. Would definitely use again.

CARD NO GOOD FOR LAS VEGAS .... NO EMBOSSED NAME ON FRONT

After using this card In Las Vegas last Setember no problem was used in pawn stars and also Casino Royale ATM .
On Returning to Las Vegas August 10th pre checked my card at Thomas Cook shop telling them I would use on our Honeymoon on 21st August I decided to use has previously before
In Casino Royale .after checking balance at Thomas Cook shop in UK.
Nowhere in Las Vegas will take this card Hotels or Atms has there is no embossed signature on front ,and its prepaid .although I showed passport . Signature on lyk card back and told security i had personal pin.for this card. Totally ruined our Holiday.
We was told this money would be put back into Account 9 Days later no good to us whatsoever in UK Holiday is over now needed Dollars in the USA.plus paid 55 dollar transaction fee have all receipts showing there was enough money in Account. And transaction numbers
Security is strict in Las Vegas .
Rung up LYK while in USA sent email in USA needing advice got email back 3 days later now back in UK to late.customer service not good enough. All I wanted was a phone call back I'd already been through security checks previously on phone. All I get is a useless email about security checks all I need is a phone call from Lyk

Is Lyk a scam? What a nightmare!

I got a Lyk Card 2 weeks ago. I paid £382 to have 400 euros put on my card.
The 400 euros never appeared; what is worse, the £382 has also disappeared somewhere within Lyk.
It was debited from my account to Lyk 8 days ago. I've provided them with proof of the debit. I phoned yet again this afternoon and the best they could offer was that the 'relevant team' would respond within 34 -48 hours. Nothing about paying my money back to me by then and until (if?) it is repaid, this is pure theft.

Please please please do not even think…

Please please please do not even think about getting one of these cards. I have had a card for a while and used it ok, but recently I transferred £1200 onto the card and within 8 hours the card was frozen, and 21 days later the card still has not been reactivated. I have been asked to send Photo ID, Bank Statements, Utility bill etc all o which I have sent. When you call you are transferred to a customer services representative that can barely speak English, and all you are told is that their Relevant Department is dealing with it. 21 days later they still have my £1200 and they are refusing my access to the funds.
Please do not fall into this trap.

Stay away from Lyk card.

DO NOT get this card!! When you draw your money out aboard from an atm machine you get charged twice for drawing money out.Took out some money was told there would be a charge for drawing money out from that atm machine, I accepted that, what I don't accept is the next day another charge appeared on my statement. Please everybody read your terms and conditions otherwise you will be ripped off just like me.

Keep well away from this card.

KEEP WELL AWAY FROM THIS CARD.
Used it in Greece July 2019.
Used it twice to withdraw 500 euros from ATM and have been charged 543.69 and 543.69 euros on my statement. Paid 350 euros for the hotel room and have been charged 363 euros on my statement. There are others but you get the picture.
I also had two transactions from ATM's that I had not made, one of these has disappeared from my statement completely and the other one Lyk card will not refund.
Will be forwarding all the paperwork to the FCA about this card.

Do not use the card as hotel security deposit!

Used the card this July/August in Darwin Australia, Bali and Lombok.
The card worked well without a hitch and I was able to top up when needed. However, I have one as yet unresolved issue. I used the card as a security deposit on a hotel which I checked out of on the 24th July and It is now 15th August and it is still showing as Pending and not refunded.I contacted the hotel on 29th July who confirmed and provided me with evidence that they had cancelled the deposit. LYK customer services advise that this will not happen until 21st August and I do not understand why the delay. I would advise any other customers not to use the card in this way if they re reliant on the funds for their immediate holiday.

I set up this card for our trip to New…

I set up this card for our trip to New York , all worked fine until we arrived home we attempted to pay for a Dominos pizza online the payment failed and sat in pending activity for 2 weeks then disappeared completely not showing as paid or returned to the card .

I called customer service completely useless like many comments on here , kept repeating the same questions over and over , I then emailed customer complaints I have been chasing a resolution for over 3 weeks with the same answer please be patient we are looking into this for you

Outcome still no answer I would of recommend the card it worked fine in New York but the customer service is appalling

Tried on 2 occasions to withdraw 1000tl…

Tried on 2 occasions to withdraw 1000tl but the ATM advised the transaction could not be processed however the amount was taken from my account.
Contacted Lyk 24 hour advise line to be advised it would be paid back into my account. Still waiting after 9 days. Disgraceful surely bank transactions can be traced!! The ATM clearly stated it could not continue with transaction and spat my card back!!
Come on Lyk card I’m in Turkey and could be stuck with no money!!!

ABSOLUTE JOKE !!!!!

I was told by the lady in Thomas Cook that if I took money out an ATM I would be charged but I would not be charged for transactions in stores but I have been charged EVERY SINGLE TIME!! I may as well have just used my British card and it probably would have been cheaper, absolute scam - waste of money and time. What sort of travel card charges you to use it every time how ridiculous?!?!

I would use the card again

Had a card fit Florida had no problems what so ever.when I came back I had money left so I contacted customer services to transfere it back to gbp and transfere it to my bank.not sure what happened but the bank rejected the transfere I tried to withdraw from atm but couldn’t.i rang Thomas cook and they gave me the cash straight away in store.aoart from that no problems using the card and customer services at Lyk we’re very nice and polite.

Have monies on my card in Bulgaria and can't use it tried several times to no avail called lyk customer service who assured me they had activated it and it was good to go no joy never again three days of stress and still no money

Very disappointed

Very disappointed, I had some Turkish Lira left over from a previous holiday and converted it to Canadian dollars ready for out next holiday. So I had 2000CAD on the card but no cash, so why cannot I not simply go into a Thomas Cook travel agents and take from my 2000CAD balance 500CAD for cash, apparently I can't as they only work in GBP-still don't understand; I have CAD on the card why can't I simply withdraw some???? So I was told to convert the 500CAD I wanted for cash to GDP (£310.83) on the card and then go and get the 500CAD from a Thomas Cook travel agent using these ££'s...no the travel agent doesn't get as good a deal as the card so they wanted another £11.53 to get my 500CAD back as cash. Don't waste your time.....

Total feel mislead and ripped off.

Totally feel mislead and ripped off.
Sold by Thomas cook after being advised carrying all my money cash was very risky. Assured the charges were a small transaction fee.
To my horror I've been charged €35 euro to take out my already converted money from £ to Euro. This means by end of my holiday this disgraceful system will have taken €100 euro for the privilege of allowing me to withdraw my own money which I've already paid charges for. I intend to take this matter to the financial Ombudsman as this was mis sold. Why would an ASDA card be £1.50 when this so called card charged me £1.50 plus 10% when I was told all same. When money us tight this has really caused me a headache. One very annoyed customer and would never use or recommend this card !!!!

DONT DO IT!!

Do not get this card. Where we are staying, all ATMs charge a fee. There's no getting away from it!!! So every time we are charged €3.95.
And even thought I put euro's on the card, I'm being charged a conversion fee on my withdrawals.
And when iv checked the balance on the card it shows it in pounds Not the euro's that are on it.

Do not withdraw cash from ATM even though it’s in euros

I put €300 on the card payed exchange rate in UK for that. Since then I have withdrawn money twice from ATM and made a payment in a restaurant all in euros , so why please tell me did it take €30 to convert my euros in to euros. So the whole thing has lost me over €30 in a week. DO NOT WITHDRAW FROM ATM IT CHARGES YOU EXCHANGE RATE EVEN THOUGH ITS IN EUROS. I’m going to complain to the lovely lady in TC in Woodbridge Suffolk who convinced me it was such a good idea. Wish I’d just had it all in cash as I wanted. ANGRY.

Dodgy Exchange Rate Mechanism

I am very frustrated because I have tired twice to change dollars into euros on this card and each time I have pressed the continue button on the agreed exchange rate it has come back and said "sorry = the rate has just changed" and guess what - it is much lower when I go back in. Once I can accept but now it has happened several times and I am beginning to mistrust the website completely. Surely the exchange rate can't just change in a matter of seconds and go back to more or less the same low rate. Is this even legal?
I will also be getting rid of this card as soon as I can.

Do not get this card!!

Do not get this card. I first used it for about a month and it was fine. But then suddenly it wouldn't let me top up. Just kept saying top up error. I phoned customer service and it was the poorest customer service I have ever dealt with. The woman couldn't speak English properly and kept repeating the same thing again and again. I was put on hold so many times and at the end thy didn't even solve my issue. When I asked to speak to a manager they said no one was available to speak to me. Too many issues with this card don't risk getting it and then having problems while you are away on holiday. If I could give this card 0 stars I would.
