Any advise please anyone?

Any advise please anyone?
I have used this card often when abroad and sorry to see it go anyway....
I still have dollars on it and was hoping to use them in the Caribbean from 21st March through to April 3rd.
Will I still be ok for that, I don’t really want to cash them in and loose money
Or maybe I should ??
TIA

Never had trouble using card either in Greece or Australia, not happy that they are closing the card but not their fault TC went under. Through to call cente first time very nice young man took my details and has cashed out for me. Lost about £30 but could have been worse suppose its the risk you take rather than having wads of cash

So annoyed

So annoyed, due to them shutting down @6th April and because I’m not going away until August I phoned to get my dollars transferred back to Stirling. Due to exchange rate I’m going to loose £42.00
Total disgrace of call centre won’t give me the £1000.0 I paid into card. No good will gesture just scripted response. Due to their inadequate running of a business we loose out

Worked Out Ok In The End.

Ok, not their fault Thomas Cook went under So they have chosen to close their accounts. with a block on Retail & ATM use after 6th Apr 2020. but can still get your money out for about 3yrs** afterwards. **(Best you check on this don't take my word on it).

That said I chose to remove my balance of Euros. on third attempt of getting through pleasant enough young lady did the usual exchange back to £ Stirling. no great deal but surprisingly no additional costs & I actually got back £1.25 more than I had pre-calculated. sent direct to my Bank account, no frustration or drama, Telephone line was poor though. Going to Norway soon so was going to swap cards anyway as they do not do Norwegian Krona, opted for the Post Office Pre-Paid card (Sorted on line) which does do NOK & 22 other currencies + had a good deal on at the time, so no great hardship.

Money in the bank

Following a frustrating morning and afternoon I finally managed to get Lyk card services. The lady I spoke to was very apologetic for the problems of not being able to log on etc- but speedily transferred my Euros into Sterling and then sent the sterling to my bank with no charges.

It worked for me.

I used my Lyk card recently in Spain, mainly for payments at my hotel and in supermarkets, and never had any problem at all. However, I didn't ever attempt to withdraw cash or to load the card during my visit, so I can't comment on the difficulties that other reviewers are reporting. All I can say is that it worked for me and was very convenient.

I’d rate it 0 stars if I could.

I’d rate it 0 stars if I could. Loaded money onto the card several times with no issues. Made one large purchase and the card then blocked all tops ups and I couldn’t pay for anything so my money was stuck on the card and I had no way of accessing it. Stuck in New York with no access to money. Absolute joke. Rang the global call line and 35 minutes later was told the daily deposit limit is $250 a day... but the stated amount in there policy is $3000 I got absolutely no where with either of the people I spoke to on the phone line. Luckily I had a credit card to use but now I will lose out because my money is in dollars and I will have to exchange it back on the card. WHEN it finally works again. As well as the extra charges incurred for using my credit card abroad. DO NOT USE THIS CARD.

5 days ago I tried from 4 devices to access my lyx account and am told "server is down"..
After a frustrating 30 plus minutes of calls with customer services, with a promise of an email from them and them not 'knowing' that they have an issue...it's now 5 days on,no access to my account to load money on my account etc,and I'm abroad and running out of Euros!!!!
I'm REALLY disappointed....anyone else have this issue...

This exact situation the review below…

This exact situation the review below identifies has happened to me twice since using my lyk card in the last 3 months. I don't feel it is secure enough to use. My debit card was frauded and money stolen from my account which has never happened to me before.

"Just back from using my Lyk card in the US, first time I have used it since swapping from the old Thomas Cook card. All OK, to use out there. But when trying to top it up in the US, on a couple of occasions it wouldn't go through and believe that the UK cards I had used to try to top it up were compromised and have been used for fraudulent transactions in the UK."

Still like my Lyk card

Just spent 4 weeks in the US and had no problem using my card.
When my cards were stolen in Barcelona earlier in the year I could suspend the card immediately using the app, and a new card was issued to me with all my money loaded on.

Bought it through Thomas Cook

Bought it through Thomas Cook. Trying to cancel it but took ages to find the number online and then ages to get through. Feels like the call centre is a tin pot place with terrible reception. I have been attempting to cancel my card for about an hour now. The phone has now gone dead so I still don't know if my card has been cancelled. Sent an email and awaiting a response. Can almost guarantee that my card was not cancelled and will get charges for it being active. Absolute bucket shop service.

Just returned from 10 days in Tenerife. Loaded card prior to Thomas Cooke going bust. Used card every night for meals with no problems. Have small amount of euros left on card and will probably transfer back to sterling and empty acc.
