I heard of Darwin from Money Saving…
I heard of Darwin from Money Saving Expert, I then went onto the Darwin site and filled out an application for the 2 cars that we own. They had previously been insured together. When I received the renewal notice, although the cost had not gone up a great deal I thought it worthwhile getting another quote. In doing so I have saved over 2 hundred pounds.

A very simple process to take out our car insurance. The price was very competitive and what was included within the premium was excellent value for money.
Our account was set up quickly, and our documents available for download immediately.
All in all a very satisfactory experience.

AVOID!! I was the victim of a non-fault.......
I was the victim of a non-fault hit-and-run. The third party has accepted full liability — yet Darwin’s repeated mistakes have caused chaos and risk I should never have faced.
What went wrong:
- Multiple payment delays and errors — sending cheques instead of secure, instant transfers
- Promised faster payment methods then changed their mind
- Their own admission: delays are not my fault — yet I face the consequences
- These avoidable mistakes put my credit file at serious risk and I nearly lost my private number plate through no fault of my own
I have kept up every single payment on time. I am now forced to escalate to the Financial Ombudsman Service to protect myself.
If you want an insurer that gets things right and doesn’t put your personal life at risk — look elsewhere.
