I am 65 yrs old and had never written a review u til I had to start dealing with Citi Bank credit card. They bought out Barclay card aa airline CC. To keep my points and keep
Building them I had no choice but to go with Citi. It has been a horrible 3 week process. At first I thought they were criminal. Now I just believe they are totally incompetent. I finally got my card and have made 5 purchases. Yesterday I changed mobile phone service companies. Today I attempted to place my new credit card in my mobile wallet. After 2 hours and 3 different people I was told my credit card would not be usable until i received a letter, called the number on the letter and proved my identity. My user name, password word, answer to a security question were not suffice. 7-10 days to receive this letter. Who knows what will happen then. If I ever receive the letter.
I would give them 0 stars if possible
I would give them 0 stars if possible. We spend $6K-$8K a month on our credit card. Our cards are set to expire in May. I tried to login to the Citibank website since I got my online statement via email, so I could verify the $6,800 worth of charges before paying and when I used my username and password that I use monthly to verify my statements it didn't work. So I tried to reset my password providing all of the security words and identification required but it didn't work. So then I called and got a pleasant person in a ex-US call center who was nice but said that since my card is expiring in 3 months, and they sent us a new card 2 days ago, that they will not allow me to reset my password. MY CARD IS EXPIRING IN 3 MONTHS! YOU JUST SENT ME THE CARD 2 DAYS AGO!! THE MAIL TAKES LONGER THAN THAT!!! And we are working snowbirds so we are at our other home for the next couple of months, and our mails is being forwarded, which takes longer. WHICH IS WHY I HAVE ACCESS TO MY ACCOUNT ONLINE SO I CAN CHECK THE CHARGES MONTHLY BEFORE PAYING THEM. I then asked to be transferred to a manager. The rep came back and said that the manager will not be able to tell me or do anything different so do I still want to talk to him. WOW! I was a call center manager for year and never would have told my rep to say that! I told him yes to speaking to his manager and got a person who said to me something like..."Yes, this policy does not make sense but it is POLICY so nothing anyone can do about it." They offered to go through each line item verbally over the phone with me. Ridiculous! I need it in writing to review and for records before blindly approving the charges. Then I said this made no sense. The manager was dismissive and abrupt and useless. If this is how Citibank wants to operate, I will cancel our cards and make it my hobby to post this review everywhere I can since somebody had to take accountability for expecting payment from us for a bill we can't view because my card is expiring in 3 months. STOP THE MADNESS!
We paid off our account and called to…
We paid off our account and called to close it but, the next month we received another bill for $23 for interest charges owed when I called we were told that charges will continue for 3+months...I had my husband get on phone he is main holder and gave permission for them to speak with me & close account after the lady removed as a courtesy the false charges then cancel card. One again next month same thing $22 interest Plus past due amount, call had to get angry then they said removing charges but need main holder to call & cancel card.
Again....this company.is filled with liars
And thieves...not 1 honest word comes from them. Don't do it use Chase
Citibank is terrible
Citibank is terrible. Their customer service is terrible. It is either robots or humans that keep saying the same thing over and over again. I was charged something and the merchant was supposed to credit my account. After contacting the merchant several times, I gave up on them and called to dispute the charge. Citibank said they couldn't dispute the charge and that I needed to contact the merchant. I explained this loop to their customer care and what did they say... you need to contact the merchant! It is a joke, they are a joke. I have found better banks and I know you can too.
Credit line decrease for no reason.
I have had my citi credit card for 12 1/2 years. I make a $6,800.00 payment and pay off my credit card. A few days later they drop my credit limit almost $7,000.00. I have never had a late payment. Thanks for screwing me over for no good reason. I call in and no one can give me a reason why they did it. This is the 2nd credit card I have had with Citi that they have done this to me. Never will use any of their products again.

They are the worst bank ever
They are the worst bank ever. Worst customer service. All they do is transfer you to another representative and keep you on hold.. Unethical and unprofessional and they do not follow regulations.
Do not use Citibank
Do not use Citibank. They are horrible when it comes to resolving disputes and absolutely do not have your back.
You swipe one of their cards, and the merchant decides to screw you over, you cannot trust Citibank to get your money back.
Their mistake, my headache
Made a payment, we already pay off the card in full every month. They decided that they would not process the payment for 10 days, started declining charges, so I called as we were in vacation. Now on the app it said my payment was processed, my bank had it as processed and the funds were gone from my bank account like it has been processed 10 days ago. The first customer service rep could not tell me what the problem was. Kept me on hold for around twenty minutes before I asked for a second supervisory customer service rep to help me. She kept me on hold another 15-20 min and told me I had to go through a long process that finally ended up with me calling my bank to verify that indeed the payment was processed BY CITIBANK 10 days earlier. The two would not tell me why the charges were being declined, they would not admit that it was their internal error, they didn't even apologize for their mistake. All they would say that they were sorry "I was frustrated" in a most condescending tone. Their customer service is not customer centric and in no way could qualify as a service, so i'm not sure why i would even refer to it that way. Needless to say, I'm closing this account and won't do business with them again. Since it's a Costco Visa will also complain to them, wish one could rate a zero.
Horrible customer service and unlawful…
Horrible customer service and unlawful practices to include “Redlining” based on my ethic background. They closed my credit card account for no reason. My advice is to not walk away from this credit card company, RUN! I plan to pay off the balance and never refer them to anyone in the future.
By far the worst bank for customers
By far the worst bank for customers. They're so clueless. I called about a concern that I haven't received my card as yet and I was told that it is still on the way even though it has been more than 14 days. They could not issue a new card. For a card that was never activated, there was charges being made on it. Unbelievable their customer service is horrible. Avoid this bank for your own protection.
Credit card is unusable
Credit card is unusable. Payments do not post until an entire month when other banks clear in 2-3 days.
Just awful credit card "fraud"…
Just awful credit card "fraud" protection customer service. Tried to legitimately make a largeish purchase online. Triggered a fraud alert. OK, no big deal. I call them to verify it's me. First rep seems reasonable enough. Ended speaking to two reps because first was one was "having computer issues" but finally get it settled and confirmed to them that it was a false alarm. OK, everything is unlocked. A few hours later, I retry similar transaction and apparently their systems isn't smart enough to learn that one false alarm usually means next one is legit, so same thing happens. I call again but apparently all the answers I give them now magically aren't enough. They start asking uncomfortably specific "verification" questions and I reluctantly answer anyway. These are literally questions that scream phishing questions. After 20+ minutes, still not good enough and now I'm supposed to wait 7-10 days for a physical letter? What is this 1980? What's a letter going to do that couldn't be done with the million other modern ways of verification? How is a piece of unsecured paper through the postal service more secure than pretty much anything else? What a joke.
This massive bank cares nothing for the little people that use their cards
1. Their "service" representatives are almost impossible to understand. 2. They are extremely unhelpful in having any ability to actually assist. They just keep transferring you to another unhelpful person.
3. They make it difficult to pay on your account. They deleted ALL of my payment information from an account I had been using for 15 years and then made me spend 6 days trying to verify and account that they had already been debiting my payment from for 15 years. Then they have the nerve to change me late fees.
Do not trust them - they lie and give you the run around
I opened a CD with Citibank and they took double the money I was using saying it was a computer glitch. It took me over two months and going to the BBB to report them and then finally my own bank to get the one payment back that I did not authorize. They lied and kept giving me the run around about refunding me money that they were not supposed to take. Never again will I deal with this bank
I need someone from Coporate HQ to…
I need someone from Coporate HQ to resolve a situation that has been going on for months. Verizon owed me $65.94 for failure to set up an account and port my phone number. I originally filed a dispute with Citi. Citi wasn't resolving the investigation because Verizon's bank was not responding because I was told they are just a processing center and therefore would not respond. Verizon reps suggested that I wirhdraw the dispute with Citi so they could refund me. So, I did that. But, then Verizon later stated they could not refund me because Citi put their chargeback money into a holding account which they cannot access. Then I tried to reopen the dispute with Citi and was told they cannot reopen it. So, as of now, Citi has my $65.94 owed to me by Verizon and Verizon's $65.94 in chargeback money. The disputes department is refusing to refund me and Verizon. I need and want my money back. I am tired of this situation. I have filed complaints with the BBB, AZ Office of Inspector General and been in touch with Verizon and sending emails to Citi disputes department with no resolution to date. I need Citi to give me my money or Citi to give Verizon their chargeback money currently in a holding account the Citi rep said so Verizon can refund me. I'm beginning to hate Citi too like I do Verizon. It's making me want to payoff my bill and close my accounts with Citi with Best Buy and Citi Double Cash Card. I'm over both Verizon and Citi. I've bern trying to get my money back for months.
I was locked out of my account when i…
I was locked out of my account when i switch phone providers, but kept the same number. When i attempted to login Citi placed an additional one-time verification process that connected me to a call center person. I answered all sorts of questions (from my credit history etc.), but failed when they asked me for my phone number. At no time did Citi alert me why my account was locked, so i assumed it was hacked. When i contacted the cs line on my credit card they informed that this was added security and that it would be unlocked on a certain date. This did not happen on the dates so i called several times (each time a new date was provided when it would be unlocked). 4 days later the account is still locked. All my other banking and financial institutions did not suffer this lock out.
