Buy Me a Coffee has been one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve had with a creator platform.
My account was suddenly deactivated while funds belonging to me were still being withheld. Since then, I’ve repeatedly tried to work with support and provide the proof they requested regarding how I used and promoted my page.
Despite submitting information multiple times, I continue receiving what feel like generic automated responses instead of clear answers from an actual human review team.
I do not create adult content, and I have repeatedly asked them to explain specifically what policy they believe was violated. So far, I have not received a direct explanation or a clear timeline regarding my withheld funds.
The most frustrating part has been the lack of transparency and communication. If a platform is going to freeze someone’s account and hold their money, creators deserve:
- a real explanation
- a real review process
- and consistent communication
At this point, I simply want:
1. A proper human review
2. Clear clarification regarding any alleged violation
3. Release of my remaining funds
I hope this situation gets resolved professionally and fairly.

I received an email from Stripe regarding the closure of my account. However, Julie has consistently helped me with it, making sure that I would do the necessary and correct steps and get significant advice moving forward. It was quite a stressful moment but Julie’s emails has given a sense of hope, assurance and relief, that as I followed her advice, it resulted to the re-enabling of my Stripe account.
I want to deeply commend her for her job well done and I can truly attest that she is a quintessential customer service agent.

Unironically got a
"We regret to inform you that our moderation team has suspended your account due to concerns regarding adult content."
mail after just 2 payments for doing art commissions that were in no way adult in nature.
Then they just refunded the money to supporters and didn't even care to prove their claim after I asked them nicely.
Good thing there are better sites to use and I have a good network of other artists to tell this to.
By god, I hope I can reach enough artists and keep them from using BMAC before it's too late for them.

I paid for a couple of coffees for a creator I like who made a Buy me a coffee page. The money was taken from my account but I did not get a Thank you page afterwards nor an email confirmation. After checking with customer support they say no transaction was made! Yet the money was debited from my Revolut account and the sum is no longer even pending, it is now in Buy me a coffee's account! I have sent to customer support even the bank statement with all the details of the transaction.

BMAC sent me an ambiguous email stating that they “no longer [are] able to work with” me. I kid you not, what a complete and utter scam. I’m filling a claim with the FTC and whatever agency I possibly can, utilizing the resources at my avail from my decent sized community. They garnished $1300 dollars for literally no apparent reason. I spent a few months accumulating money without committing to a withdrawal only to find out that, once I committed to my first withdrawal, they pull this underhanded move.
You guys want to laugh? I’ll post the email they sent me here:
“ Hi Jxxxx xxxxxx,
We regret to inform you that our moderation team has suspended your account due to risk concerns. Unfortunately, this means that we will no longer be able to work with you.
As a small company with several business partners, we must comply with their terms and conditions, which require us to shut down accounts that violate their content policies, especially those involving illegal content or services. The remaining balance on your account will be refunded to your supporters within 7 days. We recommend that you contact them to find alternative means of payment.
For further clarification, we encourage you to review our Terms of service and Prohibited use cases on the platform and our payment providers Prohibited and Restricted Businesses guidelines.”
They provide no real reason for this deactivation and they betray the trust of those who’ve sent money using their platform. This experience is horrifying and honestly, seemingly fraudulent. I will be contacting and warning ALL others about this since BMAC seemingly takes forever to reply or make right their wrongs. Like online pick-pocketing; crazy work.
By the way, I apparently “violate content policy” because I am a Christian content creator. This ban can only derive from some sort of prejudice since I do not see how I or my content breaches any condition. Completely underhanded and unjustifiable.
And don’t be fooled by the responses to these reviews. Notice, the responses on the reviews are generic provide no real solution.

I reported 3 obvious scams on their platform. BMAC did not respond or take action until I posted this review (even then, it took another week and several more emails). I found and reported more scams over a week ago (using a separate email address, as a test).. BMAC again did not respond or take action. Assume anything on BMAC is a scam until you do your own research.

The support is so bad. I processed almost 110,000 from BMC, but they closed my account, stopped my payout of 20,000, and refunded it to my customers. They were good customers and I got them from another site.
The real issue is that I have been requesting my processing statements for so long, but they keep ignoring my emails and delaying everything. If you close someone’s account, it means you are shutting down their business for some time. And if you don’t provide processing statements, how will other processors approve high limits?
I’m tired of requesting them. Leaving a review seems like the only way I can get a response.
