I've shopped with Andertons before and never had any issues, so I was surprised and disappointed by my recent poor customer service experience.
I ordered a set of tuning forks that were listed as out of stock with an estimated delivery time of around 10 days. That seemed reasonable. But after 3 weeks had passed with no clear update and no sign of the forks arriving, I had to start chasing the order myself.
I emailed and called a few times just to be told they were still waiting for their supplier. Fine again, but why am I chasing you for this information? You have taken my money on the premise that the order will take 10 days or so, so at least have the courtesy to keep me up to date, or even offer a refund and tell me to come back when they are in stock.
Eventually (a month in now), I got fed up with waiting and requested a refund (over £200). To be fair, the refund came through the very next day, which was the one redeeming part of the experience for which I was grateful (the only reason I gave 2 stars and not 1).
I even followed up with a reply expressing my disappointment, expecting to be acknowledged and at least receive an apology for the poor experience, but that email was ignored entirely, which summed things up perfectly.
Really disappointing to be brushed off like that by a store I’d previously trusted. I won't be returning anytime soon!
Review of HostGator
I used HostGator for my domain name and hosting and decided last year to transfer my hosting to another provider. Imagine my shock when I saw two unauthorised charges from HostGator ($172.66 & $45.53) from my bank! 😱 I contacted their customer service (chat only, no phone option for non-US) and explained the situation clearly. The support guy kept repeating questions and gave me the impression that he had no interest in my explanation that I only have one domain with them (which should only be $19.99/year).
Getting no answers and feeling like they didn't listen was incredibly frustrating. Beware, if you transfer your domain hosting to another provider, HostGator will still charge you unless you know to disable the reoccurring charge option they decide to stick to on as default. So that explained erroneous charge number one. They failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for the second charge and I had to provide a screenshot of the PAyPal invoice to prove it had been taken. I am still waiting to hear back and in the meantime I have contacted my bank about the fraudulent transaction in order to get a full refund for both dodgy charges.
Overall, this has left me feeling frustrated and disappointed with HostGator's service, which I will never be using again. 😟 It seems HostGator are another cheap internet company who relies on getting money from people who don't check their bank statements, or people who can't be bothered to dispute unwanted charges.
Let's unite and take a stand against low-vibrational, dishonest, and exploitative business practices such as this.
Update: HostGator support is insisting that the fraudulent withdrawal of money is due to a security breach on my end. However, I have reminded them with proof that both amounts were taken from my account using the same HostGator bank account IDs, indicating that a security breach by a third or first party on their end is the cause of the issue.

I have been going to see the wonderfully talented Gemma at Francesco Birmingham for years (Gem is so good that even though I live an hour away, I travel to get my hair looked after by her!). All of the stylists always come across as very friendly, and the salon has a nice chilled vibe. I think you can tell I 110% recommend these gals and guys. Thank you Gem and team for continual fab service. 🙏🏽❤️

My copyrighted digital poster has been stolen by Posterartdesign.com. They're fraudulently selling it as a physical poster on their website. Despite multiple emails and a DMCA takedown notice, they've ignored all communication. I've reported this scam website to Google, their hosting company, the FTC, and other authorities. Help take down this fraudulent website!
Review of Hostinger
Really poor customer service. My new website which has hardly any content is running painfully slow despite taking optimization steps. I have now been waiting for over 20 minutes for a reply from their online chat which says their response time is in under 2 minutes. Previous contact with Hostinger support has been just as disappointing. I run 3 websites through them and I will be looking to change hosting provider soon. Stop spending all your budget on advertising Hostinger and invest it into making your product and services for existing customers not just better but actually functional!

Abysmal customer support! Since paying for Elementor Pro (3 months or so), I have had so many glitches within the plugin that I have contacted their customer support several times. Today, I have the issue of a widget not working properly, so I contacted support, and they asked for all my security credentials to log into my website backend then after less than a minute of looking, the person called Rona quickly says they can't fix it and that the issue is being forwarded to Tier 2 Technical Support and hangs the call up before I can reply!
This has happened before.
Their support appears to be poorly trained, as in my experience, the live chat agent hasn't even been able to solve any issues I've faced (which have been many glitches); they just pass it to "Tier 2". The last time this happened, I had to wait 2 days to hear a reply. In the meantime, they have all my website security details, and my website is vulnerable.
In hindsight, I would have stuck with the more expensive (but great customer support) Thrive Themes.
Elementor Pro, I regret becoming a customer.

I've been with Cloudways for around 3-4 years and I highly rate them. Virtually all of the support people I have spoken to over the years usually go above and beyond to help. In particular Javiria today was super helpful in doing something technical on the backend of my website which would have taken me ages to figure out. I am very happy with the speed of my website and server stability to boot. Thanks, guys and gals.
Review of Lifetime Pet Cover
Unprofessional & Zero Communication. I took a policy out online and didn't recieve any documents. Two days later I called to ask why the policy documents hadn't been sent and was told the payment had been rejected for some reason. It would have been nice if they had contacted me to let me know. I then made a payment over the phone in full.
Fast forward to a week later, still no policy documents. I called again, only to be told they hadn't processed the payment. So by this point my dog has been uninsured for over a week with zero communication from Lifetime Pet Cover.
I cancelled the policy, as I couldn't imagine the potential headache it would be if I ever had to make a claim through this company.
Very unprofessional and poor non-starter experience.

I’ve been a subscriber for over a year now, but just to my dismay discovered something I’ve only just noticed whilst looking for another audiobook to buy with my credit...
MOST of the book reviews are clearly blatantly fake. 😱 There’s books with 90% of the reviews left on the same day and written with the same dodgy broken English and poor grammar.
I’m shocked as to why this is allowed and I’ve lost trust in Audible as a company. Sadly I think I’ll terminate my subscription with them.
Very shameful and untrustworthy Audible.

I had a recent order go missing from Animal.co.uk. I wasn't happy at all as it was for a birthday present and it didn't come in time. :(
I contacted Animal very annoyed and venting, and the customer service I received subsequently was fantastic I must say.
It turned out to be the fault of RoyalMail, and eventually the parcel arrived. The lady emailing me called Hannah was very helpful and professional. She even sent me a voucher as a gesture of goodwill for the inconvenience.
I'm very impressed and have to say their customer service is first class. Other companies should take note of how to deal with an issue the correct way.
Big thumbs up.

Review of Absolute Snow
I returned a snowboarding jacket that wasn't fit for purpose to Absolute snow because the material was unacceptably thin and felt little more than a rain mac. I would be freezing on my snowboarding trip to Whistler coming up!
Despite stating the reason for return, I've just noticed on my bank statement the company have still charged me for the return postage!! This is really lousy and disappointing business practice to charge a customer to return an item that isn't fit for purpose.
Not surprisingly, I looked for a number on the Absolute snow website to call someone to discuss the issue, but they have no free number. So it would cost me money to try to resolve an issue that is not my fault but the fault of the item I purchased? Great customer service Absolute-snow.
I've emailed them asking the postage fee be refunded, let's wait and see their response. I will update my review with the results.
Review of Travelodge
Currently staying at Park Royal London hotel unfortunately for a 7 night business stay. The whole hotel stinks of what smells like smelly feet or mouldy water. I’ve never experienced anything like it! It makes sleeping at night extremely unpleasant as the constant stench makes you feel dirty.
My room backs onto a noisy train track making sleeping hard, I can feel my bed vigorously shaking periodically I can only assume is caused by the vibration of a door shutting, there is no phone in the room and the car park pay machine has been broken for 2 days (I’ve since read is a common occurrence here. How unprofessional!)
That last point I can take- a permanent disgusting stench I cannot. Take some pride whoever runs this branch! It’s put me off Travelodges for life and I can’t wait till my dreadful stay is over. I will never be booking a Travelodge again.

Edited Review: Following some problems and a negative buying experience with Evans Halshaw, I'm pleased to say I've received 5 star customer service from Gemma at EH in regards to addressing the issues I detailed in this review and a customer satisfaction survey i completed.
Original Review:
Overall I am dissatisfied with my experience buying my car from Evans Halshaw West Brom for the following reasons:
- My Audi A1 came with dangerously flat tyres (ranging from 19psi to 23psi when they should have been minimum 36!)
- The clutch was broken which manifested itself in an intermittent screeching noise in 1st gear resulting in me having to make a number of visits back to the dealership to have the clutch fixed.
- The front brake discs had visible rust.
- Thd courtesy car I was given was dirty inside and out with dog hairs over the seats. A small but significant detail making Evans Halshaw seem unprofessional.
This brings me to wonder what, if any tests and checks are done on your vehicles before you sell them Evans Halshaw? I was charged a hidden fee of £100 which I was told was for two different reasons. The salesman told me it was for "intensive checks on the car", but when I asked the service manager to clarify what the fee was for when bringing my car back in to have the clutch fixed he said it wasn't for checks but was an "admin fee".
Plus points of my experience:
The service man (Adam) was really polite and nice and the work done to fix the clutch and brake disc rust so far seems to be very good (early days as I only picked up my car yesterday). So a big thumbs up for him and the mechanic who worked on my car and i'd like to say thank you personally to them.
I hope EH can going forward train their sales people to not mis-sell extra services as it gives the company a tarnished reputation.
In conclusion, again thankyou very much to Gemma for my refund for the mis-sold services and added goodwill gesture.

Why does Zalando continue to use the appalling unprofessional Myhermes for delivery?
Myhermes lied about trying to deliver a much-needed parcel from Zalando (contained a birthday present). They emailed me at 9pm saying they'd attempted to deliver the parcel and nobody answered the door, and there was no safe place to leave the parcel.
All completely untrue:
1) I work from home and was in all day with the doorbell right next to me the time they allegedly tried to deliver as I didn't want to miss the parcel
2) I have CCTV cameras outside my house which show no delivery attempt was made!
3) My porch 'safe place' was unlocked so there WAS a safe place
4) No Myhermes card was left
So i'm now left having to wait till they contact me to tell me when the parcel will be delivered.
I contacted Zalando at 8am this morning and the guy I spoke to was lovely. Very apologetic and polite and said he'd chase Myhermes up and said i'd be contacted with info on when my parcel will arrive.
However, it's now the evening and I have heard nothing. It is the persons birthday tomorrow and the parcel contains their gift, so when tomorrow comes I will have no present to give them! Sad times.
I'll never use Zalando again until they use a reputable, trustworthy and professional courier that's not Myhermes. This is a shame.

There's no way you can actually speak to someone at the company either to leave a complaint with. Their automated phone message just tells you to go to their website. Nice customer service. Not.
So i'm now left having to wait till they contact me to tell me when the parcel will be delivered. I have contacted the retailer I bought the goods from and asked them to raise a complaint with them seen as I cannot speak to anyone at Myhermes.
I'll never use Myhermes or order from a retailer that uses these as their delivery courier again.
