Great free measuring service

G Newbery from Wren Stevenage came yesterday to measure our kitchen. He was punctual and very professional. He was thorough, taking his time to ensure the measurements were accurate. I was very impressed with the service and am now looking forward to having the kitchen installed by Wren.

Wren arranged my measuring visit

Wren arranged my measuring visit. I was kept informed through since appt booked. I was told who would attend the visit and time. A Afzal attended the visit and prior he introduced himself and even asked today 12/9 if he could attend slightly earlier than planned which I did not mind. He came in by property prompt, polite and asked if I wanted him to take his shoe. He did his measurements and we were communicating throughout his visit. He never made me feel my communication was a bother. Pleased with his service

Absolutely appalling experience, 7 deliveries and 70+ days without a completed kitchen

What should have been an exciting home renovation project has turned into one of the most stressful and disappointing experiences we have ever had with a company. Our kitchen was delivered by Wren Kitchens on 30th June 2026. Before we had even started unpacking, one of the units had to be sent back on the delivery lorry because it was damaged. The doors were delivered attached to the units the only packaging being cardboard without protective wrapping, our doors are matt finish meaning the cardboard had scuffed most of the doors in transit.

On 1st July, we began unpacking the kitchen and immediately found multiple damaged items. On 2nd July, my partner had taken a day off work specifically to begin fitting the kitchen he is a joiner by trade and has fitted Wren kitchens for customers in the past as an independent kitchen fitter. Unfortunately, the units he needed to start with were damaged, including three larder/tower units meaning installation didn’t start for another week. We also discovered that the kitchen had been incorrectly measured by the surveyor. Despite specifically requesting that a final measurement be taken once our wall had been boarded and plastered to ensure the kitchen would still work, the measurements had been taken from the original wall. This resulted in the kitchen design no longer working correctly, including approximately a 30mm overhang of a tower unit over a window. This issue was quickly resolved.

We were then told to photograph and upload all of the damaged items through the Wren app. This alone took around 2–3 hours, followed by my partner spending approximately 2½ hours on a video call with Customer Care documenting the damage. Our first experience of Customer Care was brilliant and the replacement order was processed. However, at that point we had already identified a huge number of damaged units (12 units) and doors (30+).

The replacement process became an ongoing cycle of failure:
• 8th & 10th July: Replacements arrived. Despite asking for better protection, doors were attached to units, causing further transit damage. We were left without cooking facilities or running kitchen water for a significant period and incurred high costs eating out. On 13th July, we found cosmetic damage and a frayed wire on our SMEG range cooker.
• 14th July: Quartz worktop measurements could only be partially completed because the kitchen was unfinished, requiring a second appointment.
• 23rd July (4th Delivery): Contained 13 doors; 11 were damaged, chipped, or peeling. They lacked quality-control labels, packaging protection, and two boxes were already open. I sent a major complaint on 27th July.
• 6th August (5th Delivery): Out of 13 doors, only 5 were acceptable. On 11th August, exhausted, we accepted a 50% refund on the 8 damaged doors (£400.74) and a £300 goodwill gesture. Our case manager assured us this was a "full and final settlement" and the end of the nightmare. It wasn't.
• 24th August (6th Delivery): Supposedly quality-checked by two managers. All 8 doors arrived damaged. The case manager claimed the wrong doors were sent. The bar door also arrived in clear glass instead of frosted.
• 11th September (7th Delivery): My partner took another day off work, losing £200 in income. 6 of the 8 doors were unacceptable, the packaging was battered, and there was a red reflection marked on the bar glass.

We have spent an enormous amount of our own time whilst working full time jobs trying to help Wren resolve problems that should never have occurred in the first place. We have also tried to be reasonable throughout but we have not received any conpensation that reflects the severity of what we have experienced leading us to now seek legal advice on this experience. We dealt with Customer Care, worked with our case manager, provided photographs and evidence, rearranged deliveries around our working commitments and ultimately accepted the £400 refund and £300 goodwill payment because we genuinely believed we were bringing the matter to a close. We are still waiting for the £300 cheque after a month. This is Wren’s highest, most expensive range. We expected quality, but have instead faced 7 deliveries of damaged items, an incorrect survey, wasted annual leave, lost income, and contractor disruption. We have tried to be reasonable, but we have now contacted Trading Standards and are seeking independent legal advice. We strongly urge anyone considering spending this amount of money with Wren to think very carefully. For the last 74 days, our lives have been filled with uncertainty, anxiety and stress, and we still do not believe that Wren has properly investigated why this has happened or taken meaningful steps to prevent it from continuing. I would continue but I've reached my word limit.
