We have done several tours with With Locals over the years and I can honestly say they have all been great! As we have a school aged child we really like the flexibility that private tours offer, and the guides are always top notch. Today we did a city walking tour in Hanoi with Tuyen that was marketed as 'family friendly' and it did not disappoint! Everyone had a wonderful experience and we're looking forward to the next one in a few days.

Thanks Patrick for being our guide in Bruges. We had a wonderful visit and his passion in describing everything we saw was truly inspiring. Local colleagues were able to enjoy experiences they hadn't had before, so it was a real first for everyone. I recommend Patrick for your next visit!

One of the best guides it has ever been my pleasure to share time with. Leku got the mixture of history and fun just right. My small party were in awe at the history of Albania and the struggles of the past and Leku was a living part of that. We had beer and nuts and so many laughs, A truly lovely person who we will meet up with again when we return to Albania.

Daly was amazing. She met us at the cruise port and spent the day showing us her beautiful city. She made us not only feel welcome, but as if we were part of her family. We went to lunch together at one of her favorite restaurants and had a delicious meal topped off with some of the biggest cinnamon rolls you will ever see. If we come back we would hire her in a heartbeat.

Anna’s enthusiastic and educational storytelling about the history and the city of Bratislava (and Vienna) has been a wonderful day of enjoying the tour to and in Bratislava for me. It was a absolute delight to spend a day chatting, eating and walking in the lovely small “Vienna” with her.

My husband and I are so happy we decided to book the 3 hour top 10 tastings of Taipei tour with Garen- it was the highlight of our stay. Garen took us to so many amazing food stops and we were able to try both foods I was looking forward to trying and ones that I would never have known to try (even with lots of research). She is warm, friendly, informative and passionate about Taiwan. We learned so much (and much more than the typical free walking tours we do in our travels). It was definitely worth the price. She also took great pictures of us along the way and answered all of our questions. We loved how the tour was tailored to what we were interested in and had not tried yet. If in doubt, definitely book this!

We had a tour with Hassan. He showed us the medina and he explained everything. We saw a lot of men who was handmade leather shoes, belt and alot of hidden gems that only a local guide can show you. You can tell that he lived there his whole live. Hassan was so nice and we felt more then welcome by him.

We had a really fun three hours with Robyn. She was very responsive through the booking process and really knowledgeable about culture and food. We loved the fact that she supported local family businesses. We had so much food - we're not talking small portions so have a light breakfast and you won't need dinner! It was all excellent quality. Robyn is fun to be with and a very thoughtful guide.

We found Ritesh on the Wthlocals site. He met us near the Red Fort, then took us on the most amazing tour of Chandni Chowk. His knowledge is great and he introduced us to parts of the market that we would never have found by ourselves. Highlights were definitely the spice market and the building market, but the whole experience was fun, interesting and enlightening. Thank you so much Ritesh. He also gave us some recommendations for lunch and dinner that were spot on. Would certainly recommend him. Sian & Mike

We learned so much — not only about South Africa’s history in general, but especially about the history of District 6 and the Woodstock area. His knowledge and the way he shares these stories give real depth and understanding to the places you visit. It was honestly a highlight of our trip so far. With Gilbert, every interaction, conversation, and encounter feels genuine and heartfelt. He showed us things we would never have discovered on our own if we had tried to explore these areas without a guide. Gilbert is doing incredibly important work by telling the stories of the hardships and injustices that still affect the people living in these communities today. We truly couldn’t have wished for a better day.

Rogelio has the attributes of an ideal guide: knowledgeable and interesting, recognizes the pace required by his clients, flexible and easy to be around. We would highly recommend him.

Our Having lived in Malacca for 2 years in 1968, then visiting 3 times since, I didn't think there was much I didn't know about this fantastic city. Then we got Joseph as our tour guide. A mine of information, an excellent communicator and an all round nice chap. I had my family, 8 of us. Joseph was the star of the show. We are with him in a few days on the food tour. Can't wait to experience this with him. 6 stars plus out of 5.👏👏👏👏

Maria showed us parts of Osaka we would never have found on our own. We are now fans of Osaka and okinney! She's so knowledgeable and fun to be with. We had food she suggested in a very authentic Isakaya and totally enjoyed our time together. She went above and beyond assisting us buying things we needed. We can highly recommend seeking Osaka with Maria, the very best guide.

I would highly recommend the Cape Sounio tour. Our group of three had the perfect day exploring the area with our guide. There are so many things you can learn and discover with a private guide, and they tailored the experience just for us. We explained that we loved nature so we were shown some magnificent and beautiful places along the coast. Two of us also had special dietary needs and our guide found a great place for all of us to eat. We saw the Temple of Poseidon at sunset and it was absolutely magical. It was so nice not to worry about driving or where to go or park, and we were picked up right at our rental apartment. The guide spoke perfectly English and definitely went above and beyond. I will book more experiences with them if we return to Greece one day!

We were recommended to use Adil for a personal tour of Marrakesh, and I’m so glad we did. Communication was excellent before the tour so we were very clear in where we were to meet Adil. The tour started at Koutabia , and meandered through the medina (including the food market, Bahai Palace among other sights). Adil was so knowledgable, very engaging and such a lovely guy. We were a family of four (with two young adult children) but to be honest Adil would be the perfect choice for any type of group - couples, young kids, Friends etc . We would definitely recommend Adil for anyone looking to get to know Marrakesh , and to have a laugh on the way. Adil even kindly followed up afterwards with some recommendations of local restaurants. We went to one tonight in Hivernage (Comptoir Darna) and had the best night. Thank you Adil!

He is an excellent guide.
He exlained everything about the ancient town to us, which shows a wide knowledge in culture, history and geography.

I can recommend him and would prefer him aß a guide again.

Long was a great guide. We visited a market before we got to the floating village. He was very knowledgeable about everything at the market. At Kompong Phluk (the floating village) he took us for a walk in the village. He provided valuable insight that we would have never had if we had gone by ourselves. It was a wonderful trip.

We were so glad we chose this tour it was truly amazing. Uthaiwan (Ann) made our evening very special. We learnt a lot about local food, history and the culture of Thailand. She planned our food stops to cater for one of us with an allergy and made sure we were happy with everything at each stop. We tried things we wouldn't have tried on our own and the food was delicious and varied. There is plenty of food so make sure you're hungry. This tour is for anyone who loves food and if you're new to visiting Thailand it really helps you get accustomed to a new culture. Ann was lovely to chat with and she's also given us tips for things to do and places to eat. The only sad part is that we're not here longer to enjoy more of Chaing Mai. Thank you 🙏

We had a great day tour with Tony. Tony’s English was great so we were able to learn a lot about Bangkok, its people and history. We only had a day to visit the city and Tony was able to give us a good overview and hit some of the high spots (Wat Traimit, Wat Sam Pluem, Temple of the Reclining Buddha, the Flower Market, the markets and temples of China town), while also introducing us to some non-mainstream places that locals enjoy. We did a ton of walking which was great. If I had one negative it’s that we moved a little faster and longer than we probably would have liked towards the end so that we could fit everything in before the sun went down; thus, we were exhausted and had to rush our time at the final temple of the reclining Buddha - we should have taken a taxi when a tuk tuk wasn’t available but Tony kept walking instead. Other than that it was a great day.

Lisa was the consummate host who made us feel so welcome and was more than happy to alter her tour to suit my food allergies. Lisa knows so much about Penang & the people’s relationship with food. Food is part of their language and Lisa emphasised the importance of food to the good people of Penang. We tried a varied range of tastes & textures, savoury & sweet dishes. The locals all know Lisa & respect her. You can see that she has a good relationship with all of the vendors. We highly recommend Lisa for this Street Food Experience. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute.
