I was ripped off by Wells Fargo scammers and instead of helping me, the bank denied my fraud claim. They literally do not care that criminals are using their name to steal from elderly people. Wells F... See more

Expensive fee
I have WF basic checking for a few years. At first the fee was reasonable around $10 monthly, but now you need $1,500 minimum daily balance, $500 or more in total qualifying electronic deposits, $5,000 or more in qualifying deposit balances, investment balances, or both in order to get free checking or pay $15 a month. I decided to close it because I have two other accounts and my credit union charges $4.95 monthly. One other thing, WF reduced my credit card limit right away the minute my credit score went down even though I haven't missed any payment with them or with any other card companies. I went from $9000 limit to $3550 limit in weeks. Besides having many location, I don't think WF is a good bank. Only One good thing I like about WF is that I could chat with a live agent to close the account without calling.

Disappointed with Customer Service
Had a bad experience trying to get help. The wait time was way too long and the agents seemed clueless.
Voice system does not work and they lied about confirmation numbers.
I have used the phone access system for years. In April 2026 they changed to a new voice recognition and removed the number key menus. I have been unable to make payments over the phone ever since and forced to use a representative. Latest payment quoted back the same confirmation number I was given two months prior. When I pressed the issue, they lied saying two payments can have the same confirmation number. Never trusting Wells Fargo again. Switching banks and banning Well Fargo Banking.
The five stars are for Mau (Maurine)
The five stars are for Mau (Maurine), not Wells Fargo. I spoke with Maurine, who goes by Mau, regarding a service fee. She was kind, professional, and genuinely helpful. She listened to my concern and resolved the issue quickly. I really appreciated the way she handled the call. I’d also like to provide feedback about the policy itself. Charging a $15 monthly service fee solely because a customer no longer has direct deposit is unreasonable, especially when the account remains funded. It is particularly unfair to unemployed customers who may have lost direct deposit through no fault of their own. Maurine did not create the policy and handled my concern wonderfully, but I believe Wells Fargo should reconsider this fee.
I am very disappointed with this bank
I am very disappointed with this bank, I have been with them for the past 20 years. I recently got scammed and they are not taking my claim serious. Very disappointed
Issues with Wells Fargo ATM
I’ve been a Wells Fargo customer for YEARS — I even switched from Bank of America because I thought Wells Fargo would be more reliable. Big mistake. I went to this ATM to withdraw $500, and the machine completely failed. The small door never opened, no cash came out, and then the screen told me the money would “go back into the ATM.” Meanwhile, the charge still hit my account. I called customer service and waited forever just to be told they need to “review the ATM cameras,” and that it will take 10 business days. Ten days to confirm your machine didn’t give me my money. After being a loyal customer for so long, this is unacceptable. Total BS.
Be careful about the upgrade notice
I received a notification from WF this morning (7/16/26) saying I needed to upgrade my mobile app in order to continue using it. I did so, and the only difference I can see in this updated version is 'Express Pay', an option that allows the sending of money abroad. I don't have a need for this 'feature' and I'm concerned that this could be a backdoor for some bad foreign actor to exfiltrate money from my account to some place overseas where it would be virtually impossible to recover. I called customer service and asked for instructions on how to roll back this upgrade. She said there are no procedures for roll back. I explained to her my concerns over fund security, but she said "Just don't use it." That was the only advice she could offer. I believe I was hoodwinked into upgrading the app for the benefit of WF, not for me.
CC Processing for small business
For small businesses, Wells Fargo has been the worst imaginable banking experience.
We own several small businesses, including a low-risk medical services provider that has banked with Wells Fargo for five years. Despite paying merchant processing fees more than 165% higher than the alternative we ultimately found, Wells Fargo abruptly terminated our credit card processing in the middle of a business day, even rejecting payments that had already been authorized. We had to contact customers and reprocess their payments through a new processor.
The reason? An internal Wells Fargo audit found they had failed to collect required documentation when our account was originally opened. We promptly submitted every document they requested—weeks before the deadline—and received verbal and written confirmation from our local branch that everything had been received and uploaded. Yet Merchant Services later claimed they never received the documents and refused to communicate with our relationship manager, customer service, or local branch staff to resolve the issue. Instead, they canceled our account on the deadline.
When we escalated the matter, the executive team said they would investigate and respond…within a month! For a business suddenly unable to accept credit card payments, that response was unacceptable.
The silver lining is that this experience led us to a new payment processor with substantially lower fees, better technology, and excellent customer service. We were accepting payments again the next business day.
We are now moving all of our business and personal banking relationships away from Wells Fargo. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Wells Fargo to any small business that depends on reliable payment processing and responsive customer support.
I would have given zero stars but it…
I would have given zero stars but it wasn't an option. It seems WF determined that a wire transfer is "unusual" activity & cancelled the wire b/c they believed it to be fraud. So, I tried AGAIN & received the same treatment BUT this time WF RESTRICTED ONLINE ACCESS "for my protection" until I can explain it to them. I'm confused! How is a wire transfer "unusual" activity? Why does WF need an explanation? I think WF oversteps.
Be Careful with Wells Fargo
Wells Fargo Fraud Department just called me to question a large purchase of firearms using my new Wells Frgo credit card. The problem is that I don't have a WF credit card and never have. Turns out they approved a credit card in my name without ever checking with me by email, phone or text. Not too bright...but par for the course.
I've been a customer for over a decade. Fees and more fees combined with low value and upside potential. Bank elsewhere.
I've been a low-maintenance, modest relationship customer for over a decade and a half - but I've paid a fair amount of fees and created decent revenue for the bank over that period. Overall, there's little to recommend and many reasons to bank elsewhere. The bank is a "nickel and dime you" at every instance or possibility style of institution, but without the value or experience or perks to match. High cost, low value to customers is the name of the game, and if that's not your jam, go elsewhere. I called in to ask for a $70 fee waiver and the very best that they could do is refund $20. When a customer calls and requests a fee waiver after paying hundreds of fees over the year, it's a moment of truth and a great opportunity to 'make it right'. By offering a mediocre refund experience, a rounding error of a rounding error in revenue for a bank WF size, I'm more determined than ever to close down my account and go elsewhere. It's not the customer representatives fault - it's a bank that has an exploitative relationship with it's customer base first and foremost with a veneer of customer service orientation appended weakly on top. Leverage your power as a customer and go to where the fees and value are in a more favorable position.

Nasty customer service
They Furd team member I had was very rude and nasty
Absolute scumbag criminals
Absolute scumbag criminals. If someone fraudulently charges your credit card, you will have to go toe to toe with them to get them to reimburse the fraudulent charge even if you file a claim in less than an hour. If you really want to know how horrible this bank is consider this, if you become the victim of identity theft or if someone gains unauthorized access to your account and steals your money, they will outright refuse to help you and tell you that it's your fault and there's nothing they can do for you. What wonderful customer service coming from a company that was fined $3 billion in 2020 for committing felonies against their own customers. But to the credit of scammers and wire fraud felons Wells Fargo will absolutely accommodate you by making it easier than any other bank to create a fake account to transfer stolen money into and out of. Local Law enforcement who I've had lengthy conversations with about this Branch, are convinced that they are selling their customers data to scammers and splitting the profit with them Once they have been successfully stolen from. Should you have any more than $10,000 in your account, you can expect to be targeted 24/7/365. Funny how that never happened to me in the 25 previous years I did business with these scum!
I had some work done inside my home by…
I had some work done inside my home by 50 floor and the sales person told me and my wife that we was approved by Wells Floors and it was for 2 years no interest, however Wells Fargo said the contract paperwork that was turned in by 50 floors was for one year no interest so immediately I was charged $9,000 after the first year and interest every month afterwards. I paid my account off months before the due date. I logged into my account and paid the balance due, 2 days later on July 5, 2026 they charged me an additional $54.87 I called them on 6 July 2026, to ask them why was I charged the additional 54.87 they said because I paid two days late regardless if I paid a large amount which was over $2,600 I immediately shut down my credit card account with them and I vow to ever do business with them again. They are crooked in my opinion making money any way they can off of people.
frustrating
Just want to make clear that the customer service agents that I spoke with were very nice.....however were not able to help much.
My main complaint is that their web page is very hard to navigate.....there just isn't enough info to get you where you need to go. I was trying to edit my autopay but again helpful info to navigate is not easily available.
I ended up speaking with 2 different agents who were not able to help. Now I need to wait 3 days until my account is available to me again. Very frustrating.
Wells Fargo please fix your page with more useful info.
Other banks have very clear and useful information to easily navigate their web sites.
They are truly not a full service bank
They are truly not a full service bank. Went in to make a wire transfer and was told that I needed an appointment. There wasn't a single customer inside the bank except for myself. The teller said the banker had an appointment in 10 minutes.....she has no one with her now but still wouldn't help me. It take only minutes to create a wire....just plain lazy.
The manager was so rude and she was…
The manager was so rude and she was treating her staff so bad.
Worst customer service ever
Worst customer service ever! They promise free checking for maintaining $500 in the account. Less than a year later they raised the minimum to $1,500 minimum. It was disclosed on page 3 of in small type in the app. I was charged $90. I was able to get $30 back. They would not refund the other $60. I closed the account. I will never do business again with Wells Fargo!
