Shambolic check in at Brisbane by rude, aggressive staff. We received 3 different seat assignments from pre-booked seats (SkyBoss), to check-in seats, to a further change at the boarding gate. The Vi... See more

NEVER USE THIS AIRLINE TO CONNECT TO ANOTHER FLIGHT.
We booked 3 flights with Vietjet. 2 of the flights were changed multiple times weeks in advance then again the day before and on the day. The 3rd flight was changed twice 24 hours before and then on the day. On top of this ALL the flights pushed back late. In total a delay of over 11 hours over the 3 flights. I investigated why we had been moved onto another flight - the email said ‘operational’ reasons. When I checked the status of the original flight that I was booked on, it was still operating with seats available but selling for a much higher price. This seems to be their business model - if the flight you have booked on becomes popular then you will be bumped off it so they can sell your seat for more.
One of the flights was over 4 hours later than booked and this is supposed to warrant a credit for another flight. When I applied for this they just sent me an email saying - ‘refused’ and no explanation. I’m not that bothered as I never want to fly with them again anyway.
NEVER USE THIS AIRLINE TO CONNECT TO ANOTHER FLIGHT!
Good points - flights were actually ok once we left. Staff onboard were friendly (unfortunately not so at the airport).
2 stars for getting us there safely without losing our bags.
Vietjet's operational procedures should be illegal
In Nov. '25, Vietjet let us book tickets from Da Nang to Da Lat, Vietnam. Four weeks before the flight, they send an email saying the flights have been cancelled because the airport in Da Lat will be closed for 5 months (!) for improvements. In fairness, Vietnam Airways did the same with the flights out of Da Lat that we also booked in November. First issue: the airlines didn't know in November that the airport would be closing? Why did they allow us to make the booking? I suspect so they could collect our money and earn interest on it. In the same email, Vietjet provided a link to request a refund. Why wasn't the refund automatic? When we used the link it only provided options to get a flight credit, which would be useless to us since we don't intend to travel to Vietnam or the areas they serve in the foreseeable future. So, I needed to find a phone number to call. Of course, no one was reachable via phone. Then, I found a customer service email address. I wrote them an email. It took them 7 (!) days to respond. Despite having explained I wanted a refund to the original form of payment in my first email, they required me to respond to their email to confirm that. They say once I do that, they'll refund the money in 45 (!) days. So, they will have my money for four months in total for a service they knew they couldn't provide when they sold me the ticket. I wonder how many other people on those flights will completely lose their money because they give up due to the multiple steps required to get a refund for tickets that should never have been issued in the first place. Is anyone else hating all the corporations who are able to take advantage of customers without any repercussions?
0 Stars
I wish there were an option to rate 0 stars, because even 1 star is too generous for VietJet Air. Online check-in was pointless since the queue was mixed with regular check-in, and the staff were rude and uninformed about basic visa rules. I was wrongly told I couldn’t fly visa-free to Malaysia, only for them to Google it and realize I was right after causing unnecessary stress.
Charged for a mistake their own website caused 😳
I booked two tickets on Vietjet's English-language website — one for myself (European name) and one for a local Vietnamese passenger. My ticket went through without issue. My friend's ticket was flagged for a name correction, and I was charged a fee.
When I raised a complaint, Vietjet's own support agent confirmed in writing that (1) I had followed the English-language interface instructions correctly, and (2) the booking page presents conflicting guidance — the field layout suggests one order, while the "(as in passport)" note implies another.
In other words: their English-language interface fails specifically when booking for Vietnamese passengers, yet they charged me for it. The system seems to work for most Western names but breaks for the very passengers their airline primarily serves.
I have the written confirmation of this conflict from their own support team. Despite this, they refused a refund up to now - the case is still pending. I am now pursuing this through third-party complaint channels.
Vietjet — this is your opportunity to respond publicly and do the right thing: refund the fee and fix the interface. Thank You! 🙏
Just bad ticketing counter
Just bad ticketing counter, checking counter, and ground crew experience at SGN airport.
Absolutely appalling!
Absolutely appalling!! The trip out took off an hour later than expected. The trip back 2 hours later than expected. No apologies, absolutely disappointing experience. On top of that after waiting hours to board and to take off, you don’t even get offered any water!!
I had booked a flight from Udon Thani…
I had booked a flight from Udon Thani to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi. When I arrived at the airport, I discovered that my flight had been cancelled without any prior email notification.
I had an international flight departing from Suvarnabhumi Airport, so this situation was extremely stressful. A staff member from VietJet tried to find a solution for me, but the only option offered was a later flight landing at Don Mueang instead of Suvarnabhumi, which would have caused me to miss my international flight.
As a result, I had no choice but to purchase a new ticket with Thai Airways (Thai Smile Airways) in order to arrive at Suvarnabhumi on time.
The VietJet employee asked me to complete many documents in order to receive a refund for the cancelled flight. However, more than one year later, I have still never received any reimbursement.
As a frequent traveler, I have decided that I will never fly with this airline again.
Disgusted
Disgusted . Dealing with the vietjet airlines complaints team almost a year . The most distressing thing of my life. The poorest service you can receive from any airlines out there . Pay 10 extra but never use them airlines. I will take you to the court. Vietjet
DO NOT use them ever
Absolutely horrible experience. The flight was originally delayed for an hour and a half, then delayed again for another hour and a half, then yet another hour and a half, with additional waiting on top of that. The total delay ended up being over six hours, wasting an entire day at the airport.
There were no clear updates, no proper announcements, and the gate kept changing with no explanation. Customer service was useless and showed zero concern for passengers. You are left completely in the dark while time just keeps slipping away.
They charge for everything, yet fail to provide the most basic service of keeping customers informed. When I finally tried to get a refund after hours of delays, they suddenly claimed the plane was on its way. Total chaos and extremely unprofessional.
This airline is the Spirit Airlines of the U.S., but somehow worse. Read the reviews. There is a reason they are consistently rated one star. This is without question the worst airline I have ever flown, and I have traveled all over the world. Do yourself a favor and book with another airline.
One of the most stressful airport experiences I’ve had
I rarely write negative reviews, but this experience was too serious not to share.
At the airport, we encountered a baggage issue while checking in for our VietJet flight. While we were still trying to resolve the situation, the check-in counter was closed without any clear warning. We were then told that we would not be allowed to board unless we made an immediate additional payment on the spot.
We were not given a reasonable opportunity to review the charges, repack, or consider alternatives. The situation felt extremely pressured, as the only option presented was to pay immediately or miss the flight entirely. Faced with losing the trip, we paid under protest just to be allowed to board.
After returning home, we contacted the airline multiple times requesting a fair review of the incident. Despite providing details, the airline rejected our request and closed the case without offering any meaningful resolution.
This experience caused significant stress and left us feeling that we had no real choice as customers. It also raised serious concerns about how situations like this are handled.
Based on this experience, I would strongly advise travellers to consider alternative airlines. I will not be flying with VietJet again and would personally choose a different carrier in the future, even if it costs more.
Worst flight company ever ever you do
What ever you do, never book a flight with Vietjet Air, there change fligh time, and if you missed connection flight because of that, you will not get your money back. They are a riff off flight company. Worst ever. Every other flight company give back your money if there are going to change the flight sceduele time.
Unprofessional and messy airline
Booked a flight from dalat to hcm in early March. Nearing the date, it suddenly got cancelled without any warning. Apparently, its due to airport closure. Ticked off as Apparently we are only able to get airline vouchers instead of a cash refund. The tickets should not have been up in the first place. Very messy and unprofessional system.
Flight attendant asked me to give way my paid seat to someone else
Besides flight schedule changing 5 times, what I found the worst experience was, when I booked the ticket with a paid seat (seat A) next to the window, but after getting to the plane, there was already a couple with their kid on my seat and the next one (seats A and B). They said they booked the seats online and showed me the online tickets, but when the flight attendant asked what seats were printed on their paper tickets (mine showed seat A obviously), they said they didn't check and put those tickets in their bag up in the overhead bin. The flight attendant then dragged their bag out and asked them to take out the paper tickets, and to the most unsurprisingly they showed seats B and C 🙂. But the worst scenario happened, the flight attendant asked me to take seat C (the farthest from the window) because the lady on MY seat HAD A KID. No recommendation for compensation or a refund, just asked me to hand over what I PURCHASED, and the couple of course had no intention to go back to their TRUE seats. What's the point of spending your money to get the service and having to give way passively. I was the only one following the policy here and both the flight attendant and the couple did me wrong.
Never had a vietjet flight on time
Never had a vietjet flight on time, last one was 2.5 hour delayed. I was just at HCMC airport where there were multiple gate changes. I ended up at the wrong gate with the same destination and flight time and they started yelling at me aggressively and refused to tell me where to go. Didn’t help when you’re panicking and confused. I ran like the wind and just caught my flight but staff were unhelpful and incredibly rude at the gate.
We were told to arrive 3 hours early to…
We were told to arrive 3 hours early to pay a reduced overweight baggage fee. We arrived early but could not find or access the required counter, were directed to long check-in lines, and were charged a large fee with no alternative. On a second flight, we followed written instructions to arrive early but the counter was closed. The airline’s response was inconsistent with their own signage and instructions. Overall, I don't believe Thaivietjet cares about their customers. I would never fly with them again.
Absolutely unacceptable experience.
Absolutely unacceptable experience.
Flight VJ081 on 11 February from Ahmedabad to Melbourne (via Vietnam) was delayed, and upon arrival passengers were informed that baggage had not been transferred to the flight. We were assured the luggage would arrive on the next flight and be delivered within 48 hours.
It has now been well beyond 48 hours and there is still no baggage, no proper update, and no clear communication.
The most frustrating part is that customer care numbers are not reachable. Repeated attempts to contact the airline have failed. There is no transparency, no accountability, and no urgency shown in resolving the issue.
A refund of AUD 20 for such a serious inconvenience is completely inadequate and feels dismissive. Essential belongings are missing, yet there is no proper assistance or support being provided.
This reflects extremely poor baggage management and highly unprofessional customer service.
Very disappointing experience. Would not recommend.
Probably the worst airline I have ever…
Probably the worst airline I have ever experienced.
Multiple flight changes which affected my next flight which I had to rebook to make them work for additional fees.
I booked thru their website including my first and middle name. Upon check-in, they were rude and asked me to change my name. This is after queueing for couple hours. Then went to a separate counter we were asked to go to and after 15minutes, asked to move a counter for another 15minutes.
Then back at the checkin counter again.
Almost missed our vietjet flight as a result.
Oh and because of the delays of this airline, we missed our connecting flight too which, because we booked separately after numerous changes with Vietjet, we had to pay another change of flight.
So if you value your peace of mind, skip this airline.
Do not fly business class with Vietjet
Do not fly business class with Vietjet! Lack of care and an unprepared staff. We arrived at check-in in Ho Chi Minh more than 1 hour in advance, having already checked in online, just to drop off our luggage. Two employees saw our boarding pass and directed us to a huge line, where we waited for about 30 minutes. When we finally reached the counter to check in our bag, they told us we should go to the business class check-in counter (that no body mentioned before), saying that “you paid a lot and should have premium service”, even though they had already messed everything up, and were still making us walk around and end up late.
To make matters worse, they lost our luggage, which didn’t arrive in Da Nang, and there is still no estimated time for when it will arrive.
If this is the business class service, imagine the other categories. Terrible! I would not fly with Vietjet again.
These guys are SCAM ARTISTS
These guys are SCAM ARTISTS. You book a DELUXE ticket in July 2025, to fly in February 2026, which allows you to book the emergency row with extra legroom. Get to the airport and you have been moved to a cheap seat. This happened to my wife and daughter on seperate flights one day apart. this is disgusting. Do not fly with this airline, thet are scam artists.
