Extremely unreliable

Behold and prepare to be amazed and baffled by the astonishing levels of lethargy, incompetence and indifference that is VietJet Airlines!!

If you thought Easyjet, Ryanair, Jet2 or Tui were bad wait until you experience this bunch of clowns.

Flights are frequently delayed with little or no notice given, a minimum of an hour is pretty standard but often by hours with no apologies or explanations.

Checking in online before your flight appears to serve no purpose at all, (unless you want to pay to pick a seat), as they disregard electeonic boarding passes and will make you que to go through the whole check in process again at the desk in the airport?? That is when you can find a checkin desk that opens when its supposed to as their opening times seem to follow no logical convention or form and appear completely random?? You could arrive at the prerequisite time dictated by your type of flight (domestic or international) and still find their check in desks closed or not accepting your flight..... its pretty much a lottery?!

Boarding will then be announced with no prior warning or advance notice at any random time making the departure board all but meaningless?!

Boarding is chaotic and more akin to herding cattle than treating passengers like human beings! Being a budget airline in every sense of the word VietJet aircraft are never parked at a gate and transport to the aircraft is via busses. Prepare to be forced into a bus like sardines and then have a few more people physically forced through the doors for good measure by abrupt and aggressive staff before you even set off to your aircraft!!

Staff are at best apathetic but usually rude, unsympathetic, abrupt and at times outright rude or aggressive.

Once your delayed flight actually takes off good luck if you have a connecting flight to catch!! In their small print the MCT (minimum layover time) is not their responsibility so be aware! After a 3.5hour delay we missed a connecting flight by 30 minutes, VietJets response when we said we only missed our connecting flight due to their 3 and a half hour delay in departure was to say 'why didn't you allow longer between flights to allow for delays?' . (So apparently 3 hours between flights for a connection is an unreasonably short time according to Vietjet!!)

Outside of the flights their customer service is appalling if all but nonexistent whilst their website is the worst I've seen in a very very long time.

Cancellation policy etc is a joke, refunds exist only in the form of credits towards another flight within vietjet, the one airline you want to avoid!! And their customer service responses take forever and a day, and when they do eventually answer an email it's pretty much an unhelpful or cryptic response that it is often abrupt, dismissive or sarcastic or it is a cut & paste from their website spouting nothing you didnt already know and normally with no resolution to your question......?!?

This bunch of clowns make all the western budget carriers look like premium top of class operators and thats saying something!!

After enduring 6 weeks of VietJet flights (12 flights in total) booked via out business agent to get to various locations within VN I can guarantee we will be strongly instructing them to NEVER be using this poor excuse for an airline ever again.

Only pro is they're cheap..... VERY cheap (and generally the baggage arrived in the same destination as the passengers, although we did have 1 instance of the bags never making it onto the plane at all!?).
Everything else about them is garbage, but rest assured you will defo get exactly what you pay for.

If you have other options take them people, save yourself from the circus that is VietJet.
If you don't..... well good luck, manage your expectations, book an airport lounge for the standard 1-3 hour delay to your departure, and prepare to be amazed at the sheer chaos that is VietJet Airlines.

Worst airline I have ever used. We were Delayed by 7 hours and 20 minutes which was bad enough, apparently delays are common with this airline. To top off this experience they even charged me 15 USD to add my children’s middle names to the booking. Would never use them again! The staff were extremely rude and told me to use a different airline in future if I didn’t want to be charged extra. Basically admitting that they were ripping me off but that’s what they do. When on board the flight they were only selling water and food. No snacks offered. The flight was full of screaming kids (it was now late at night and the children were clearly tired). Disgraceful airline.

Disgusting experience. Website dont work, no-one at check in desk and then say need to pay to change flight?

No check in online, queue insane at the desk (I travel only with a cabin bag)
They try to make you pay for everything (like updating your name when it is not necessary)

Awful company…. I would rather walk than take a vietjet flight. They cancelled the flight and then have taken 3 months and still haven’t payed the compensation, absolute scammers

Big scammer - staff are very rude uneducated- do not know how to treat Autistic child - even did not know what is Autism - Clearly open money game for luggage- Have seen rude behaviour of staff with other old aged people people on floor and in flight - Never Ever travelling again or recommending again to anyone - Please close the Airlines if can not provide customer service for money paid

The worst, they weigh your personal belongings before you ride the aircraft (even if they’ve already weighed it in the check in) CRAZY!! They’re scamming people so that you’ll pay them coz u have no choice as the plane is already boarding. So what if you buy in duty free? WELL DONT if u plan to get on this plane coz they weigh that too! Even ur personal bag (aka. Your small bag) also they are rude!

Do not book with VietJetAir, you will be delayed, your bags will be delayed even longer, that's if they arrive at all. Consider walking, the customer service is non-existent; I have been waiting since 20 April 2025 for my legally entitled compensation for a delayed flight from Hi Chi Minh City to Sydney. The flight was delayed almost 7 hours, not much fun with 2 young children; my baggage arrived 6 days later.
Despite contacting the airline over 15 times and providing the relevant requested documents on numerous occasions, VietJetAir still have not honoured their legal obligations.

10 minutes before we’re due to take off, we find out about 90 minute delay.
They either are incompetent, or don’t care, or both.

Trash customer service. They force you to wait so long to check into flights and then the flight gets delayed because everyone can't make it through customs and security in the time between check in and boarding. It's the most moronic airline I've flown with.

Just let people check in sooner so they can get where they need to go. Absolute Idiocy

Although we booked the ticket 4 months ahead, Vietjet keeps changing the flight 03 times with short notice. This seriously affected our plans and raised some unnecessary costs. Many customers faced the same issues when we went to the airport. They disrespect customers. Not sure why they haven’t collapsed.

Scam! They change your flight only a few hours before departure. If you arrive more than 3 hours later than expected, they treat you like shit as a foreigner. Better choose Vietnam Airlines!!

TERRIBLE. STAY AWAY. THEY DON'T GIVE YOU EVEN WATER FOR FREE, EVEN WHEN THEY KEEP YOU IN THE PLANE FOR 1 HOUR DELAY.

I lost my AirPods on the flight. When I landed, I told them that I can see it’s on the plane via checking on FindMy. The staff was shady and insisted it wasn’t on the plane and to speak to lost and found. After speaking to lost and found, they said they don’t have it at all. Even though FindMy said it was still on the plane. It later left the airport, and travelled in Vietnam whilst I was there. I check every day and now it flys between countries - China, Vietnam, Australia. One of the air hostess themselves stole it. What an absolute scam of an airline with shady air staff. Never travelling with them again!

Their low fares are a scam.
They’ll shake you down at the the airport any way they can: demand nylon wrapping for your personal items (it’s regulation!!) to making you check in your compact carry-on luggage (1lb over limit!!); all at ridiculously unreasonable cost.
I’d give the filthy crooks one star for not crashing the plane.
That’s it.

Disgraceful Service & No Warning

Shockingly rude and unprofessional crew—utterly disrespectful and unhelpful. The final insult? They preponed the flight without any notice or announcement (wanted us to just magically know lol), leaving us stranded without apology or care and on top of that made us pay an extra fee for missing OUR FLIGHT that too not in our hometown where understanding their language was very hard 😭😭
This airline is a masterclass in incompetence and contempt. Never again. Avoid at all costs.
Tariffs and rates were impressive tho.

THIS FLIGHT IS A DISASTER WITH HORRENDOUS STAFF

Hands down the worst airline experience of my life. VietJet is heartless and money-hungry.

On our flight to Ho Chi Minh City, VietJet didn’t care about carry-on weight or small backpacks at all.

But on the return flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi, they suddenly weighed EVERYTHING - carry-on bags, jackets, women’s handbags, small backpacks - literally anything they could. No other airline I’ve flown, and not even VietJet before, has ever been this extreme or unreasonable.

Predictably, this caused “overweight,” forcing us to pay for extra luggage, stand in another long queue, and nearly miss our flight.

What made it worse: the staff showed zero human decency or empathy. Even when we explained we were about to miss our flight, they didn’t care at all. Cold, robotic, and purely focused on squeezing more money out of passengers.

This airline treats people like numbers, not humans.
I will never fly VietJet again - and I strongly warn others not to.
