Find An Emergency Vet
Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Very lovely people from first telephone call to leaving the practice after my pussycat had been looked after. Was kept informed from start to finish. Professional, efficient and kind staff. Very clean, well laid out practice. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend

Honestly, I could not be more grateful for the care, expertise and overwhelming commitment you have demonstrated caring for my 9 month old cat Bonnie. She was so unwell and critical when I brought her to you but you expertly managed her symptoms, made her comfortable and most of all made it possible for me to bring my baby home where she belongs. Even when I called in the middle of the night you was all so caring and informative. You kept me up to date at all times and nothing was too much bother for you. I will be forever grateful to all of you. Bonnie is doing well today on her first day back home, she is asleep in the conservatory enjoying the sunshine 🌞 but I think she is beginning to get bored of a very annoying mummy who keeps telling her how much she is loved 🥰 I just want to say the biggest heartfelt thank you to the team.

The initial telephone call was very good and they provided clear detailed information. We attended the vets in Tunbridge Wells. Very good and very thorougher. However, an discharge she said “I will give you this electrolyte drink for her” on checking the bill we had been charged £15 for a bottle of drink that is available on Amazon for £6!! Which I think is a little steep, almost three times the cost! As they have you over a barrel!

I called out of hours and was informed of the nearest vet who could help
The info was sent by text and email and the service at the vets was very good
The only downside was the price

You looked after Benny so well and saved his life. Thanks.( Could be a little more reasonably priced though we aren’t all rich you know). Thanks I know you all work hard to get where you are but so do the rest of us.
Thanks again the love you show to animals is fantastic. They need us to look after them they are innocent creatures. Xxxx

Just brilliant. Clear and reassuring comms from the call centre; a great experience at the vet's - warm, friendly and caring - and great treatment/advice. Thank you.

Thank you again very much indeed for looking after Bob on Saturday. We are most grateful that you are there in an emergency, out of hours.

My phone call was answered really quickly. I arrived and my dog was seen almost immediately. Diego was kind and compassionate, I didn't feel rushed and he took time to explain what he could do to make Archie comfortable and each step of the process to treating him and getting him back to good health.

We attended out of hours with our dog who seemed to be having some sort of seizure or fitting episode. After a cursory examination the vet told us he likely had vestibular issue or a brain tumour, and that euthanasia was our only realistic option.
After later that day attending our usual vet in London for a second opinion and a more detailed examination including various scans and blood tests, we have a dog who has virtually completely recovered.
To think that if we had trusted the original prognosis we would have euthanised an otherwise healthy dog.
We won’t be back, and will continue to let others know about our experience.

3204454 - I’ve raised a complaint with all the details. My concerns are
Level of care
Notes not accurate (had blood in urine but told notes said he didn’t)
Told he was stable and he clearly wasn’t
Vet was more concerned about funds than our dog
Vet said he couldn’t tell if he had breathing issues or anxiety

Very professional service. We were made to feel comfortable and relaxed after our shock, waking to find our frenchie in pain early Sunday morning.I can’t thank the vet enough going beyond her duties and advising us on our next steps including an MRI. we were with the vet an hour and half and although the bill was £400 including meds, this actually works out better value than a vet in normal practice hours with a rushed 15 minute appointment.

First I like to say the vet was lovely, but I needed to take my dog on a Sunday and was advised it would be £315 just to walk through the door. After medication and treatment fees it was nearly £600. This is an absolute rip off especially during a cost of living crisis.

Very helpful vets, looked after my pup well, pups still not out the woods but without these guys it’s unlikely he would be here so very grateful for them.

During a recent scare with our cat over Easter weekend, Vets Now were kind, flexible and patient with us over a scary 48 hour period. I recommend them when pets need care out of normal vet hours. They offer peace of mind and quality service. Although it's certainly best when you have pet insurance.

I can’t fault the vet I saw. She was caring and lovely. The problem is the extortionate amount that Vets Now charge. I appreciate that there is a premium to be paid for an out of hours service but it genuinely feels like this company has you over a barrel. My bill for a stapled and bandaged cut was over £700. This didn’t involve an anaesthetic or medication to bring home. Frankly, it’s obscene.
