About Vets Now
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Don’t think they care
Advice in practise was fine, not great but was referred to a specialist after my dachshund became paralysed from the waist down with IVDD.
Southampton practise sent all my details to the wrong person and sent my insurance company the wrong pets condition so it took 3 months to get my insurance back fully.
Been waiting on a complaint to be resolved for over 5 months now and STILL NOT GETTING ANYTHING.
So some random person has all of my dogs details, including microchip, insurance, name etc and all my details like address, payment methods, and they don’t seem to care that someone breached data?

Emergency care
We were seen promptly which probably saved my pets life! He was diagnosed with Genetic heart failure which is now being treated at a specialist centre

As above
I cannot give you a top rating because your fees are obscene and I mean that. Your staff are helpful and caring but I really think you are exploiting the Insurance Companies via the clients who ultimately pay . Your pharmacy charges border on criminal when compared to market charges and you appear all too eager to prescribe on undiagnosed issues. Call me if you want to discuss further. Fees aside, a good service

Can’t you put IT in the shed or garden for the night
I took my friends dog in under an emergency unfortunately we were waiting on a phone call, we decided to put him in the car and get there for when they opened.. unfortunately he passed during a seizure in the car.. I have never met a more disgusting receptionist if I tried! I ran in and said my friends dog had died in the car however she was more interested in her conversation. She wanted me to leave the deceased dog in my car over night.. or better yet stick ‘IT’ in the garden or shed for the night.. her manor was disgusting this was incredibly traumatic.. all because he didn’t have the funds they wanted min (£460) there and then she had a go at me infront of other members of the public visiting the vets that evening.. not sure how many times I had to say he was NOT my dog and was unable to help with costs at that time.. there was no sense of urgency. She kept calling the dog an IT like he was nothing and the way she explained how basically he would be taken with the trash when collected the following evening! A formal complaint is being written against this member of staff if I had my way I’d name and shame her on here but I’d probably get in trouble!

They seem money orientated
We took our cat to them, with a bleeding ear, they then started on about his eye of which he had dealt with for months without pain. They also mentioned a minor heart murmur of which we knew nothing about.

The receptionist was very officious
The receptionist was very officious . Paying for the treatment on the spot is far more important than the health of the animal. One poor woman had to have her cat put to sleep. Surely there could be more help given to someone who was upset ? I was quite disgusted.
The vet was lovely .

Quickly responded to my call and within 30 minutes I was at the vets waiting to be seen. Due to the prompt action I am sure my dog made a good recovery from his pancreatic condition.

Caring and thorough service
I have a senior rescue dog, who has experienced cruelty & neglect. He's only been with me 2 months but is poorly with suspected pancreatitis.
He ended up at the emergency vets and I couldn't have asked for a more thorough and caring service.
I felt listened to and the lovely vet, Adriana Racu, was sensitive to Pete's trauma and therefore his needs with regard to contact and treatment. I left feeling very happy with my visit.

Friendly
Friendly, competent staff who seem to genuinely care.
Docked a point for the grotty premises. For the prices they charge you would think they could afford a cleaner!
