Find An Emergency Vet
Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

John the vet in Newport was great with our sprocker spaniel Alfie. He is a very anxious dog and this was heightened as he was unwell. Alfie is on the mend now thanks to him.

We used them as an emergency vet as we were phoning out of hours. They were responsive, calm and the communication was excellent. On arrival she was triaged immediately and our dog saw the vet within 20 mins, after bloods etc were taken. Our dog needed to stay in overnight. The situation deteriorated, in the early hours, we received a phone call and they arranged a specialist vet to deal with the situation. We could not have asked for more from them, they were very caring.

Really empathetic staff who clearly care for the animals.
The vet spent time taking the history and gave clear advice and recommendations.

My little Yorkshire terrier has pancreatitis and needed to be seen. Although there was a wait to be seen, the service myself and my little dog received was top tier. The lovely vet Bianca was very kind , compassionate and really took her time to explain things to me. She is a credit to vets now. The nurse who triaged hamish was very thorough also. If I lived closer then I would have these as my general veterinary practice.

Very helpful, quick to respond, empathetic and diagnosed the issues quickly
So impressed thinking of changing Vets after 30 years with my current vet

Emergency visit in middle of the night with my little dog. Had to wait a while to see vet as other patients before me but triaged by nurse so reassured my pet wasn’t about to die. She was kept in for the day and given treatment. Overall very friendly, professional service. Costs seem very high but worth it to have access to caring vets at 4 in the morning.

I would strongly advise not to go to this veterinary practice. I've spent alot of money here with my four dogs but when I found a sick stray they didn't want to do anything, not even a proper check. Now I know how heartless they are towards animals and just out for the money I will never use them again. No compassion just £ signs.

Not always had a good experience here but at the most recent one they were great. Even though they were busy the vet gave me all the time I needed, answered all my questions in as much depth as I wanted, was very reassuring and calming and I didn't feel rushed or like I was being inconvenient. Yes there is quite a bit of waiting but it's like an A&E department so that's what you expect. They didn't recommend or do any unnecessary treatments (again, I've had that experience before from here - a couple of years ago - where they threw all sorts on the bill without telling me)
A much better experience all round.

Vet and other staff great. Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was the price charged

Very quickly seen, John was great treating our Teddy who had a bad flea infestation. Explained everything and recommended products too.
