I’ve been a loyal customer of Veja for…

I’ve been a loyal customer of Veja for years, which makes this even more disappointing. I purchased a pair of suede trainers that were far from cheap, and within 4 weeks of wearing them they developed a large rip at the front due to what is clearly poor quality materials or manufacturing.

When they first arrived, I did notice a slight scuff, but I didn’t expect that normal wear would quickly turn it into a major hole. Instead of standing by the quality of their products, Veja chose to blame me rather than acknowledge the issue.

For a brand positioning itself as premium, the quality and customer service fell well below expectations. It honestly feels like standards have seriously dropped, and the company now seems more interested in avoiding responsibility than looking after long-term customers.

Sadly, after years of buying from Veja, I won’t be purchasing from them again.

However, based on the photos provided and the clean, sharp tear observed at the front of the shoe, this type of damage is more consistent with an external factor (such as a snag, impact, or friction) rather than an issue related to materials or manufacturing.

You also mentioned noticing a scuff when the pair was first received. Unfortunately, this was not reported to us at the time. Should you be able to provide photos showing the condition of the pair upon delivery, including this initial scuff, we would of course be happy to review your case again accordingly.

At this stage, the nature of the damage does not allow us to classify the issue as a manufacturing defect.

Sustainable? Ethical?… But not repairable. Just branding and profit!

I purchased a pair of VEJA children’s sneakers brand new through Cettire in January. After only around four months of normal wear, the elastic laces snapped completely.

What followed was a deeply disappointing customer service experience that raised serious questions about VEJA’s sustainability and after-sales support.

Initially, I was told the issue was due to children “not taking care of their footwear” and was advised to search online for replacements or visit a cobbler. No replacement laces, repair option, or practical solution was offered.

After further correspondence, VEJA confirmed that the elastic laces are proprietary, they cannot be purchased separately, no suppliers can be recommended, and there is effectively no repair pathway available for this component.

This means a pair of premium children’s sneakers can become functionally unusable due to a single consumable part failure after a very short period of use, with no ability for the customer to repair or replace it. That is fundamentally at odds with the sustainability and longevity messaging heavily used in VEJA’s branding.

When I raised concerns about durability and support, VEJA then suggested the shoes may not meet their quality standards or could potentially be “non-authentic” because they were purchased through Cettire, despite Cettire being a major international retailer that openly sells VEJA products.

At no point was there any constructive attempt to resolve the issue.

The communication throughout was impersonal, scripted, and dismissive in tone, with no meaningful engagement or effort to offer a solution. For a premium priced product positioned as ethical, sustainable, and responsible, the level of after-sales support was not consistent with those claims.

While I understand limitations around third-party retailers, VEJA still benefits financially from these sales globally. Consumers paying premium prices reasonably expect basic support, transparency, and access to repair or replacement parts.

This experience highlights a significant gap between VEJA’s sustainability branding and the practical reality once something goes wrong with the product.

You also inquired about purchasing replacement elastic laces. We informed you that, as these components are produced specifically for our models, we do not hold spare parts separately nor produce surplus, which is why they are not available for individual sale.

In an effort to assist you, we suggested alternative solutions, such as sourcing similar laces independently or consulting a local cobbler. However, as your purchase was made through a retailer with whom we do not have a direct partnership, we are unfortunately unable to cover any associated costs or provide after-sales service.

The delivery was super quick! The Etna sandals are light, comfy and super cute! They fit a tad big, so if I order another pair, I will size down. Otherwise, they’re perfection!

Not recommended

I'm on my second pair of Veja Campo. The 1st, there were holes on the soles after about 2 years of use - I didn't do a lot of walking, and I didn't use them every day. I was able to get them replaced, but after a year and a bit, there are showing the same signs. Honestly ridiculous considering the price and how they advertise their soles' quality. Won't buy this brand again once these bite the dust.

After 7 days of placing the order

After 7 days of placing the order I still had no confirmation the item was being sent. I contacted Veja to ask why and the reason was because they said there was a discrepancy with my shipping details. I don't know why they didn't contact me as soon as they knew but they didn't and that's not great customer service. Now I have to wait an extra 4+ days for it to be delivered.

2nd update
On their reply you'll see that they claim to have had no contact details for me. Not sure about anyone else, but these days we can only complete an order with a valid email address which they failed to use to contact me.

3rd update.
Veja now claiming they had an error. An error that has only now been presented that I was not made aware of at the time.
In fact the error was all my fault at the time.

Interesting how they found my details quick enough when I wrote a negative review.

The quality of their shoes and customer service are two different things, I hope!

The 2 stars I've reduced to 1 star because of poor excuses, possible lying.
I just don't trust Veja.

Buy the shoes by all means, just don't shop directly with Veja

Shoes made way too big.
Had to pay high price for duties
Return shipping extremely complicated & needed to pay myself, even though I was getting emails from them explicitly stating “Free shipping and returns”…knowing I was on their “Veja canada” website?

Love VEJA. I have 3 pairs of VEJA shoes. Campo, V10, and Campo in canvas material.
I love the signature V on the sides of the shoe and the VEJA logo on the back of the shoe.

No delivery- poor customer communication

Placed an order on 2/4/26 advised delivery by Royal Mail is typically dispatched on 2-4 days
Currently my order is still ‘in progress’
I have used the bot and requested a call several times but as yet no response
