Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 18,505 reviews, reviewers had a great experience with this company. Customers frequently highlight the ease and speed of the booking process, finding it straightforward and intuitive to use. Many appreciate the clear information provided and the ability to add tickets to digital wallets, making the overall user experience efficient and reliable. Reviewers also consistently find great prices for their tickets, often making significant savings compared to other options. The website's navigability and the immediate application of rail card discounts are frequently praised, contributing to an affordable and accessible service. However, some people mentioned issues with the amount of information on each page during booking and a desire for clearer indications when tickets are no longer available at a chosen price. A few other people also felt that the seat allocation could be improved, wishing for the option to self-reserve or change seats. Additionally, some customers were not happy with the requirement to enter their age to check basic information, perceiving it as unnecessary data collection rather than a tailored experience. There were also occasional mentions of confusion regarding ticket pricing for multiple passengers or return journeys.

Being a lady of a certain age and not…

Being a lady of a certain age and not the best with a phone it was with some trepidation that I accessed the Trainline app!!
However I found it very easy to use, found the trains that suited our journey perfectly, each step was explained and clear concise instructions.
Thank you

Chaos on SWR…

I left Exeter at about 1.30pm yesterday and only arrived at my destination at 8pm due to a series of incidents:
signalling failure
death on the line at Vauxhall
weather too hot for the train tracks

I compared booking with South West…

I compared booking with South West Trains and Trainline and, although Trainline was actually slightly more expensive for the same ticket, the price remained the same, on the second time of looking, whereas South West Trains came up with a more expensive option only a few minutes later.
The booking process was easy too.

The company refused to refund a duplicated purchase caused by and “error” in their system

I had a horrible experience buying Trainline tickets from Bratislava to Budapest yesterday. After paying for those tickets (flexible tickets and more expensive than buying directly at the train station - but this is not the issue) the system gave us an “error” message and asked us to try again. We did it and after many minutes (more than 10 min) we got an email with the first purchase charged to the credit card so we paid the trip twice for the same 4 passengers and same destination and same day. The worse part comes when contacting the Trainline Customer Service they said the company policy is that this is not considered a “duplicated” tickets as the times were different and therefore they would not refund the tickets. Also, they said we should had requested refund on the same day and now it is too late. They could clearly see (and the customer service confirmed they saw it) that we bought 8 tickets for 4 people (same names, same day and same destination) and said “sorry, we won’t refund it” as we claimed late. This very frustrating as the error was caused by the website and not by us! We ended up paying 2 X 174.75 Euros for 4 tickets from Bratislava to Budapest!!! This is very frustrating and it clearly shows that Trainline doesn’t care about the customer! Don’t trust Trainline! And their purchase system is not trustful at all! It gives you an “Error” message and then charge you later!

Many years experience of online booking.

I have booked train tickets online for many years. I am getting to be quite knowledgable about routes, trains and carriages. We both have mobility problems so always arrive early so as not to be rushed getting to the platform. At Christmas we came home first class, because of the chaos over the years with losing our reserved seats because of cancelled trains etc It worked well so that is it from now on!

Easy to book via the Trainline app

Easy to book via the Trainline app - worked out a lot cheaper than through the northern website. Paid extra for the insurance just incase our plans changed or any cancellations. Worked out at 99p each so worth it for peace of mind.
