Speaking to a real person who could give proper answers was great. He offered a good service and returned my call when we were cut off. Also helped when the bank queried the payment. Thanks again.

Well ive forgotten my login details ive emailed you for my reference number so that I can change my login details, but in order to do that I have to log in with my reference number, I cant login to get the reference number. Oh and the date of birth thing, that stupid calender I have to click back to 1955 instead of being able to just type it in. What a pain. I've emailed you several times, pointless you just tell me to log into my account, just tell me I haven't made a mistake imagine if I had to make a claim.

Absolute rip off company
Noticed a schedule typo on named driver's date of birth - in their 60's not 70's. Tried to change online - not allowed. Tried online chat - not available. Phoned company - Yes I can do this for you, one moment please. Just so you understand there will be an additional charge of £267.60 (original price paid was £246.67) including admin charge, making a total of £514.27 to take 3 years off my year of birth! Tried arguing but given no choice but to cancel the policy at a charge of £40.00 (policy not due to start until end of month) and begin again. Got another quote from Swinton of....£246.67. Formal complaint started. Following the rather generic response please note that I am unhappy about being charged the additional £267.60 to change the birth year. Please explain that.

Please note that the date of birth is a key rating factor and can significantly affect the price of your policy. This is why adjustments to the date of birth unfortunately impact the premium.
The £40 administration fee is outlined in our terms of business which is available to view prior to the policy being accepted, but I realise this doesn't make the situation any less frustrating for you.

A good buying experience...
I bought my policy online through an insurance comparison site. Swintons quote looked very competitive. I clicked through to their site & was pleased to see just how easy it was to complete their online forms & make payment. Everything was very clear & easy to understand. Much easier that many sites that I've been on to get car insurance. Thoroughly recommend Swinton Insurance.

Poor service
The agents had little understanding of our situation, were not clear, didn't know their own process to the extent that I had to spend 6 hours on thd phone, mostly on hold, was directed to the wrong person on several occasions (and in one case a completely unrelated company)
