Awful experience
Awful experience
The customer service was horrendous at Skoda Croydon trying to get through on the phone was a joke many times I called ringing for more than half an hour waiting for someone to pick up the phone. My car needed a part which was nearly £1000 which
took ages to come in, I was without my car for over 3 weeks in all and not offered a curtesy car. When I did finally pick the car up my bill was nearly £3000 at that price they could have at least cleaned the car it was
filthy sitting in their carpark all that time.
I was going to buy my daughter a skoda and with this awful service I am now thinking of
going elsewhere. I had no choice but to go
to skoda as no other garages was allowed to
buy the part I needed and skoda croydon
was my local garage. If I need any future
work done to my car I will go to Bromley and
hopefully they will b better mind u they can't
b any worse. Not a happy customer 😒

Do not buy Kodiaq!
New mk2 Kodiaq has spent more time in the dealership than on the road. Avoid at all costs.
5 star amazing experience
5 star amazing experience! Thanks to Asif!
My car was delivered on the exact date I was given as an estimate.
The whole experience was absolutely incredible! Worth every penny! Asif is the heart and soul of Škoda!
Upon collection of the car we were given an ultimate delivery experience as well as fuel as an extra.
Asif was very kind and even bought me and my son a can of red bull. Definitely deserves a promotion!
Terrible service
Terrible service
I have been a customer at Skoda for the past 8 years and never had a bad experience before. However the service I was given at Warrington lightcliffe Skoda was the worst service I have ever received from any company. I paid for diagnostics tests, but the information about what I wanted the mechanic to look at was not passed on 3 different occasions. I was then charged for an additional hours diagnostic service, despite the fact the mechanic did not even look at the part I advised was faulty in the first hour. This information about what needed looking at was clearly not passed onto the mechanic by the front of house team. It took an AA mechanic and a different independent garage less than an hour to diagnose the fault, so it is surprising that Skoda were unable to find the fault in 2 hours. I made a complaint and then suddenly the diagnostics were completed.
Skoda then refused to confirm that they would stand by their work if I went ahead with the repair they completed.
They charged me for bulbs without informing me of the price or obtaining my consent for the price of the bulbs- they simply added this cost to my invoice without my consent. When I queried the invoice, instead of explaining the invoice, I got rudeness from the customer service liaison.
The customer service employee was rude to me throughout, even before I had any issues.
I did not want to leave a public review, as I believe it is fair to give companies opportunity to respond to any issues and rectify them, but I have made a complaint to customer services but 2 weeks later I have not received a response.
I did not expect such poor service. I did not expect to be treated so rudely throughout my experience. All I can recommend is for everyone to avoid Skoda Warrington Lightcliffe at all costs. They rip you off, they are incompetent, will not stand by their work and will be disrespectful and rude to you throughout your dealings with them.
Rust around both number plate lights Fabia mk4
Rust around both number plate lights on a Fabia 66 plate. Wife took car to Skoda Helston and without even removing the lights to inspect wife was told someone must have damaged paint. Many similar cases on -line …it is a known manufacturing issue with the Fabia mk4. 18 months later after involving the ombudsman, new tailgate funded by Skoda and we collected the car today. Expect a battle with any rust warranty issue. Poor show Skoda Helston. Thank you motor ombudsman. Thank you Skoda UK for eventually sorting this but really, if you want a loyal customer base this isn’t the way to go about it.
Buying and Selling car
The day my husband and I walked in Skoda York store we felt overwhelmed how beautiful and clean the areas were, it felt extremely welcoming. We was looking to buy a Skoda Kodiak 7 Seater we new exactly what we wanted. This Young man called Darrian came round the corner introduced himself, invited us to sit down offered drinks, we then felt at ease. He spent hours with us, we were throwing questions at him and he answered with full confidence. All through the buying, the phone calls the emails he was patient, calm, reassured us in every way. I suffer with anxiety sometimes it gets the better of me but Darrian was absolutely spot on helpful and always there on the other end of phone email and in person. The sales and buying has gone so smoothly and now i have the most beautiful car i could not ask for anything else superb customer skills. He has only been with company 3 months i was so shocked his knowledge of Skoda cars his sales was also listening to us the customers what we wanted excellent
Great claims as to 'Integrity' just meaningless words
Vehicles are great- but Head Offices support is diabolical.
Had issue with a refund on a service/warranty refund when trading existing Skoda for a newer one. Good local staff understood refund could be made as part of p/e deal but Head Office (or one of them-difficult to know who you are dealing with) said no - on day of collection - due to small print- and because I'd paid a year up front and not monthly. Tried resolution but basically nobody from Skoda or VW VAG interested- no replies to most contact. Even their 'Integity' officer (Germany) request to Skoda CZ to contact me went unanswered. None would provide Finalisation Letter to allow me to go straight to Ombudsman, had to wait 8 weeks. It's not as though Skoda/VW/VAG 'small print' is that reliable day to day, eg repeated wrong phone number on web and early coms (extra digit tat has gone unspotted by staff), sent me a 'service due' email two weeks after purchase of new car; sent me offer of 20% off insurance plan 2 weeks after purchasing one for £900 and many more examples. Local franchise fine but all their different Head Offices are lacking- despite making great claims all over their websites for their 'Integrity'.
Pity because support issue experience so bad it will probably put me off buying another Skoda after this, my third.
Found out that I am not the only Skoda owner experiencing the main issue
Very poor service indeed
Very poor service indeed. I have spoken to 7 different advisers, none of whom ever follow up on their commitments to take action or even to phone back. Whilst people are polite, they seem completely disinterested in resolving issues, and feels like it’s Skoda UK just outsourcing customer dissatisfaction, as a tick box exercise.
AVOID getting a Kodiaq PHEV- many software glitches and no solutions in sight!
Firstly- remember that you can reject the car within a 30 day window if you buy new.
We are lucky compared to some people. Our issue is that the maps won't load on the smaller display screen. Everything else seems OK. Lots of people are getting much more by way of bugs than this. The dealer I got it from claimed not to know why it was happening and suggested it just needed a software update from my local dealership. I got in touch with them, and they said that this is a known software issue but there is no solution yet! The main screen nav system seems to work.
So- let's just get this right: Skoda are selling cars that they KNOW are faulty. ( A lot of them flashing warnings of all sorts of system failures.) EIther they haven't told their dealerships or those same dealerships are lying when they claim not to know about the issues.
They only need to look at online fora!
Of course, as a potential buyer they won't tell YOU! Personally, I object to being an unpaid beta-tester for a product.
So, dear reader, AVOID BUYING A NEW SKODA LIKE YOU WOULD AVOID A RABID DOG!
Dangerous presets
Looked for a complaints department but struggled. I have been driving a Karoq for 6 months now. Every time you turn off the car it reverts to its presets. Lane control is in my opinion a very dangerous thing. To make my point:- I live just a few hundred yards from a dual carriageway which is running at 50 miles per hour in busy times filtering onto the carriageway means threading your way in between two cars with just enough space. If you have not turned of lane assist the the car wrestles with the wheel right in the middle of a manoeuvre that required skills and concentration built up over forty years of driving. That is dangerous and all off a sudden you are not in control and two seconds of that time is stolen from what now is an urgent decision.
Secondly I never use cruise control I regard that as dangerous. If I needed cruise control and lane assist why would I need a driving license?
There needs to be a way of turning off them functions for good rather than for the length of one journey.
Secondly the Bluetooth is as archaic as the name of the system itself you need one of them burner phones to be able to connect to the car and the WiFi is spotty.
Otherwise it’s a good effort the car runs fine and its other features are intuitive and practical.
My wind screen wiper got stuck on a small piece of ice and I got out of the car freed the wind screen wiper and there was no more problems. The next morning I had an email from my dealer the car had booked in for a service. I phoned them and explained they cancelled the service.
In a way it’s pleasing that they are looking out for you but it was such a minor issue
Disappointing Experience with Skoda UK's 'Approved' Used Cars
I recently purchased a low-mileage, Skoda Approved used car, expecting peace of mind from their touted 140-point check. Unfortunately, my experience has been far from reassuring.
Upon taking ownership, I discovered two pre-existing faults logged in the car's computer modules—actual issues, not mere glitches. It's clear that these were either overlooked or ignored during the supposed thorough inspection, and such oversights shouldn't occur if the approved car checks are conducted properly. This points to either incompetence, negligence, or perhaps a reluctance to invest in necessary repairs.
Furthermore, the Skoda Approved warranty is not equivalent to a new car warranty. Many electrical and mechanical components are not covered, beyond the usual wear items like brakes and tires. This can leave you facing significant out-of-pocket expenses if something goes wrong with parts you would expect to be covered.
My strong recommendation is to exercise caution when dealing with Skoda UK's 'Approved' used cars—or any similar dealership scheme. Do not place undue trust in the "Approved" label. Instead, have the car independently inspected, including a comprehensive scan of all systems for faults, before making a purchase. Ensure that any issues are documented and that the dealer commits in writing to rectify them.
Bought a car from ŠKODA dealership…
Bought a car from ŠKODA dealership nearly a year later still waiting for documentation phoned customer service spent hour on phone no help put a complaint in with the assistant sent me email after email still no help even said they tried to contact me my phone hasn’t rang once and no missed calls they upset me so much what a waste of time
Awful customer service
Awful service.
Bought a brand new Skoda 4 months ago. For the second time we have had roadside assistance come out as the car wouldn’t start despite being fully charged.
Roadside assistance performed diagnostics and determined that the inverter for the 12v battery was faulty and needed replacing. Roadside assistance did a temporary charge on the battery so we could drive it to a branch to be replaced.
Tried to take it to our local branch in Erdington birmingham who tried to refuse us as they didn’t want the problem and thought they would have to send it onto a different branch. After roadside assistance called them they finally agreed to take it however the next day when we called to check progress they determined that there diagnostic equipment said there was no fault. This was only because of the charge that roadside assistance did for us to get it into a branch. Spent the afternoon arguing with customer service that there must be a problem as the car won’t start but they were utterly useless.
At present we are told we have to pick up our faulty car and return our courtesy car by Monday or we will be charged. We were told the car would break down again in 2-3 days of driving so know we will be back to square one again!
Awful service as once they have sold you a car they don’t want to know!!!
If I could leave 1 star I would.
If I could leave 1 star I would.
I bought my car as new in October 2024. I based my decision to buy base on your website specifications. You specifically state the car as having high beam control. After getting home from picking my car up I realised this is not on my car. None of your garages seem to know the exact specifications. You then add salt to injury buy failing to address you have made an error your website specifications. No instead you point to your pdf specifications. As most lay persons I didn't even read this. I thought I could base my buying decision on your website being factually accurate. As of 2nd of November 2024 you have offered no remedy at all, other than washing your hands of this issue. I know this to be a software update as the sportline has this available on the same led headlights. I just want this put right. So far iv raised this with the ASA. I will go and far as needed, out of principle!
Brand new car broken down - buy elsewhere
I purchased a sportline Octavia hatch in September. I was starting a new job in October and would need a saloon car as would be doing motorway driving. I'd owned Audi's for 20 years. My husband swapped from Audi last year and, overall, had been impressed.
I collected my brand new car at the end of September. Within days, I had to return for part of the interior to be repaired and there was glue on the boot.
Then, week two, my brand new car would not start. I was at work, trying to go home, so had to call Roadside assistance. After 90 minutes (it was now evening and I was on my own) they arrived and advised it was a software fault Skoda know about. The official guidance is switch the car off, leave it for 15 minutes then it should start again. I got home just before 9pm. The following day, my brand new car wouldn't start again. Roadside assistance attended after a 5 hour wait. I wasn't able to get to work - a brand new job - embarrassing as my boss has travelled over from Spain! Roadside assistance told me the same - known software fault - he'd had some Skoda customers stranded with a car that wouldn't start for an hour or more.
So, this advice from Skoda is completely flawed!
I've been given a range of lower spec cars to "make do with" whilst Skoda scratch their heads with how they will fix this. I'm still expected to pay the price of a new vehicle I don't have.
I wish I'd never switched brand. The latest courtesy car is a diesel estate monstrosity of a car. Functions don't work, it's like a bus to drive and I don't have anywhere to park it as it won't fit in my garage. I've now been offered a hybrid but I've no charging facilities.
I keep asking what's the plan and get nothing meaningful.
To say I feel let down is understatement of the century. This is a shambolic organisation with a " profits before integrity "mentality.
I regret buying Skoda. Really regret it.
Threatened to cancel my warranty if I…
Threatened to cancel my warranty if I left a bad review!
Service Schedule & Complaints Procedure a Secret
I bought a car in September 2024 with 18 miles on the clock from the Skoda dealership, Marshall's in Harlow, and was told that all necessary documentation was in the glove box. Foolishly I did not check and basic information (Warranty, Roadside Assistance, Service Schedule) was not there. This didn't concern me as it is basic information that should be easy to obtain. After 3 weeks and endless emails and 'phone calls I still don't have it.
I have been told that I cannot have a copy of the Service Schedule even though the Warranty (I finally got a 7 year old document that I am told covers it) requires that the vehicle is maintained in line with the manufacturer's requirements.
I am told that there is no Service Record Booklet even though the Warranty states that I must show this to prove that I have properly maintained the vehicle.
I was told that if I have the vehicle serviced by anyone other than a Skoda dealership the Warranty will be invalidated even though this is contrary to UK law! This point has now been conceded as long as I follow the manufacturer's "guidelines " which they refuse to provide!
The Warranty document that I have states that I must have a document called " Confirmation of Cover" in order to use the Warranty and Roadside Assistance. I have asked several times for this and no one seems to know what it is.
I keep being told by Skoda UK that it is the dealers responsibility and vice versa.
I have been told that I cannot have a copy of the Complaints Procedure! Have you ever heard of anything so absurd. I was told that my complaint had reached the highest level and then, after I contacted Head Office, I was contacted by someone from the Executive Office. My first and last Skoda!
Moterbility car..
Moterbility car... visited Skoda garage ! Looking for a new car . On my first visit felt i was being listened to . Could not believe i was able to have a test drive the same day . So impressed had to have one so smooth so comfortable . Liked the fact that the company keep intouch while waiting for car to arrive . I know have my car . Dreadful customer service
Dreadful customer service - the dealership says my problem needs to be sorted by Skoda UK ..... when I take the problem to Skoda UK, they say it is a dealership issue. After lots of time wasting (badly administered on Skoda's part) emails and circular phone calls I have given up - they just don't care.
After 2 Skoda cars, I'm never buying Skoda again.
Skoda UK customer care and finance
Skoda UK customer care and finance, i have to say very poor from my on going experience. I bought a brand new Kamiq three months ago, unfortunalty theres a rattle in the dash which is very annoying to say the least, my dealer has tried and failed to sort the issue. I have, which is my right under the consumer act 2015 rejected the vehicle, i have given the dealer fair opportunity to fix the issue but as i say they failed, the rattle is that bad my wife has even managed to record it on her phone as evidence. The vehicle has been returned to the dealer so i dont have a car. Skoda just seem to be stalling and making the situation worse, long winded and stressful, i just want my money back, is it that hard. I ve not named the dealer as the issue seems to be skoda, if it proves different at a later late i ll update this review or do a review on the dealer. I would like to add this is my skoda number 7 all new, first one with a issue.
Is it too much to ask to have a new car rattle free and be able to enjoy my new car experience !! Not the nightmare im going through.
