Skoda UK customer care and finance

Skoda UK customer care and finance, i have to say very poor from my on going experience. I bought a brand new Kamiq three months ago, unfortunalty theres a rattle in the dash which is very annoying to say the least, my dealer has tried and failed to sort the issue. I have, which is my right under the consumer act 2015 rejected the vehicle, i have given the dealer fair opportunity to fix the issue but as i say they failed, the rattle is that bad my wife has even managed to record it on her phone as evidence. The vehicle has been returned to the dealer so i dont have a car. Skoda just seem to be stalling and making the situation worse, long winded and stressful, i just want my money back, is it that hard. I ve not named the dealer as the issue seems to be skoda, if it proves different at a later late i ll update this review or do a review on the dealer. I would like to add this is my skoda number 7 all new, first one with a issue.
Is it too much to ask to have a new car rattle free and be able to enjoy my new car experience !! Not the nightmare im going through.

Warning be very careful of this…
Warning be very careful of this dealership as I was Cond into a insurance policy which didn't exist, yes I got ripped off from one of the employees here, as a disabled person I went here for a car to get me around, it was during covid and my first time getting a new car on pip, but that didn't stop one of the employees ripping me off for £200, he asked me to pay a miss Williams witch I did think was strange, but I wasn't expecting my local skoda dealer to rip me off, just be careful if you do end up here with a pip entitled car. You do Not have to pay any insurance extra. Skoda lightcliff Warrington.

My last Škoda…

I brought an 18 plate Škoda Kodiaq with two years warranty from Thomson and Potter in Perth. It’s my 3rd Škoda. The timing belt failed on the last day of warranty and even though I notified Škoda of the breakdown Thomson and Potter washed their hands of me. It’s a serviceable part, within recommended mileage and age and within warranty. But its now 8 weeks later and I am still without car and waiting for someone to take responsibility while Škoda Uk look into it. My lease is due to expire next year - can’t imagine ever going back to T&P or getting another Škoda based on how they treated me. Such very poor customer care it’s shocking.

Great car, dreadful customer service…

Skoda is very much like the Octopus Energy of the car world; fantastic product, dreadful customer service. I took delivery of a new Enyaq (which by the way is a fantastic car) however from new I had problems charging the car from my own wall charger. It would charge for about 5 minutes then stop charging - not great when a full charge takes about 10 hours!

Skoda support were, I have to say, worse than useless; every request would take about 2 days to receive a response (not great when you have an electric car that won’t charge!) and the advice was, frankly, ridiculous; at one point I was asked to sit in the car (all night I presume?) so that I could let them know the *exact* time that the charging cut out.

After many, many sleepless nights, I managed to self diagnose the problem (ironically before Skoda themselves were able to diagnose the problem) the sad thing being that I would have actually got to this point earlier without Skoda’s interference.

We bought a used Skoda from Johnsons…

We bought a used Skoda from Johnsons Skoda Stourbridge. The car was meant to come MOT'd and with mats but didn't. I complained and was to to get it the MOT done locally and but the mats and I would be reimbursed. I did so and sent them the invoices. This was 9 months ago and I've still to get the cash despite lots of follow up. Terrible service.

Disappointing

Disappointing
Disappointing. Bought a 3yr old skoda kamiq to replace a old car to ensure reliablity and safety. 1 yr later the right headline goes and cost £850 to replace. This car only has 22000 miles on the clock and have been told by the garage it should not have happened on such a new car with low mileage. We have always bought skodas but this will be the last as have been told by customers services there is nothing they can do help cover some of the expense.

Bought a used approved Skoda car from…

Bought a used approved Skoda car from SKODA STOURBRIDGE approximately 15 months ago. I wrongly assumed they would make sure the car had all correct tools etc. I just went to change tires for the first time. Never been in the spare wheel area until now and there were Skoda wheels with locking nuts and no tool. I searched the car and nothing. No one has been in this area since I bought it. I complained and they claimed it was ticked off their check list. BUT they admitted fitting new tires so they used the tool themselves.
I had to pay £47 for a whole new set of locking nuts.
Manager said if I’d been back after a month he would have supplied free!! Are Skoda sending cars out without checking all tools on board and expecting customers to check tools etc because they can’t rely on their own quality control. I would think you should be able to trust a main dealer of a car that was originally bought from them by previous owner. NEVER going to STOURBRIDGE SKODA again. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Service Plan

This review follows on from my previous post about Wakefield Skoda.
I pursued the promised service plan which hadn’t materialised and eventually after six weeks Martin Bergman of Skoda Uk was able to reinstate the service plan.
It was apparently down to the finance department and Martin was prepared to stick at it until they reinstated the service plan.
Big thanks to Cristiana for her amazing memory and for speaking up for me. Much appreciated.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. If something goes wrong with your car, the customer service and complaints team are beyond useless. I have been repeatedly fobbed off and told to go and contact the ombudsman now. Avoid Skoda

Birmingham Škoda, incompetent staff and management

Absolutely shocking service. Bought a car from Škoda Birmingham dealership and the staff including the manager have evidenced a level of incompetence which is ridiculous. Was Granted a 2 year warranty package with my car and promised I’d be sent out the paperwork to confirm this. When I booked car in for service 3 months later the same manager who granted the 2 years warranty is now saying this didn’t happen and there is no record of it. There is no record because you have not record kept and done your job. After many weeks of chasing to listen to phone records the same manager finally agreed actually yes it was granted. No apologies, no accountability. Will not be using Škoda again and will also advise friends and family to steer clear. Will also be escalating this matter to their head office. The poor reviews and low rating of Škoda is if no surprise now after my personal experience.

Just finished a 4 year lease on a Skoda…

Just finished a 4 year lease on a Skoda Octavia and my advice is to avoid them at all costs. Had multiple issues with the car back and forward to Mervyn Stewart Belfast. Loss of power the emergency call kept going off dialling 999. Customer service was ridiculous Skoda always made you feel that you were the problem, when I complained about my service they wrote the complaint off as the person I complained about said I left happy. I finally got rid of the vehicle after 4 year lease only to have them try and bill me for minor scrapes that I considered fair wear and tear after 4 years and 66000 miles. They also charged me for rust on paintwork. Whole experience over 4 years has left me with a sour taste for Skoda having been driving for over 20 years and used multiple car dealers this has been the worst experience of all those driving years from the dealership to the company they do not care about the customer

Ongoing issue with known fault

Ongoing issue with known fault, acknowledged by Skoda Johnson Birmingham and Skoda UK as a known fault, now making our 5 year kodiaq unusable due to the premature failure of the gearbox.
2 years of discussion with Johnson Birmingham and 1 year with Skoda UK has lead no where other than Johnson offering to buy back the vehicle at a vastly reduced value.
Employees of both Johnson and Skoda have confirmed this is far below the expected level of service and such a pity as this is our third but now final Skoda.
Plenty of opportunity for them to make this right or offer any level of support but consistently stated that they would help if they could but that they can’t unless both parties agree - neither will agree without the other one confirming first.
This adds to the miss-selling when we purchased the vehicle and Johnson Birmingham deliberately miscalculated the road tax confirming it was in the lower categories when we paid for the vehicle and then informing it they’d made a mistake when we collected it and it was actually in one of the highest brackets due to the list price.
So disappointing

Great cars, poor sales attitude

I've 40 years safe driving experience.
But the Skoda sales rep, a third my age, called me a dangerous driver....without seeing me drive.
Then called my request for info; 'ridiculous'.
Skoda: great cars, lousy attitude.

Don't buy from Skoda Kings Heath Birmingham…

I bought a car from Skoda Kings heath Birmingham 14.
I have had a tyre with a split in it, 3 different tyres which is illegal, as the axels should have the same tyres. I was only given one key and promised another but had to go to see the garage 3 times before they have done anything. The exhaust was blowing but the manager said it was ok because it would pass an MOT. The manager made me feel intimidated, staring at me. He has no customer skills, being as unhelpful as possible. Great service

I initially dealt with Zubair Ali. He was informative, helpful and very accommodating. He was polite and listened to all my requests. The handover was with Kyle Holdsworth. He was efficient, explained everything clearly, and made the handover a pleasurable experience. I would recommend this garage at Stourton to anyone.

Turbo failed on my 5 year old skoda…

Turbo failed on my 5 year old skoda kodiaq vrs. Bought from dealer as used approved at 2 years old. All maintenance was carried out as per service schedule. Response from skoda was "it's a wear and tear component which can fail" All of my previous cars have been older and higher mileage and never had a turbo fail. Definitely not impressed with the reliability as every time I have it serviced it seems to need something. Now it's a turbo at a cost of £2.5k.

Popped into Skoda in Nottingham

Popped into Skoda in Nottingham as a warning light illuminated about the airbag. They dealt with it on the spot without any prior notice and fixed my car within a couple of hours. They were fantastic as they understood I had an important journey to do! Always friendly service when I go in and couldn’t do enough. Will keep returning due to the high level of customer service!

No honour. Four months of ignorance. Fobbed off and turned away.

You turned down the warranty claim without an explanation as to why it did not comply with your terms and conditions. I raised a complaint, and you promised me that someone would be in touch to explain the situation. Four months passed. The corrosion got measurably worse. You closed the complaint without a resolution, and told me to deal with the Ombudsman. So basically, I feel like Skoda UK have provided terrible customer service. I feel like they stalled the complaints process for 120 days intentionally. They produced no resolution to what was at the beginning a minor defect. And now there is a bigger financial burden to bear to repair the corrosion that has continued to grow throughout these 4 months of ignorance.

To anyone lookong to buy a used Citigo, make sure the rear wheel areches are fitted with plastic liners to deter mud and muck from sticking onto the inside quarter panel where the petrol filler cap is.

The car body is corroding around the petrol filler cap in what is known as 'inside out' corrosion, because there is a defect in the joint.

Beware and don't expect Skoda to honor their warranty. As an aside, Rainworth Skoda gave it a glance over and said they were helpless and didn't know what I should do - without explanation as to why they weren't able to help, of course. Just a 'good luck with that, not my job mate' attitude.
