Returns process
I purchased an air compressor from SGS Engineering which unfortunately developed a serious fault shortly after purchase. While SGS did respond to my emails and explained their returns and inspection process, I found the resolution process difficult due to the size and condition of the item and the practical challenges involved in returning it.
Communication was ongoing, but the situation has taken a long time to progress and remains unresolved. Based on my experience, I would recommend that anyone buying large or heavy equipment carefully consider the returns process and practicalities in the event of a fault.

I only wanted a price for a gas strut, 13 emails later over nearly two weeks and still haven’t got a price-

Money grabbing shark
They have designed their systems to make it impossible to cancel an order even seconds after placing it. We all realise a mistake just after the submit button is pressed. Computerised as it is for sure they could have allowed alterations for at least a few minutes, but have no system. Even phoning customer services seconds after they will say its impossible. Clearly a deliberate policy and you know an idiot is in charge who thinks making it impossible to change your mind will make him richer. When they give a return authorization the return address starts "buyers regret" some weird patronizing disrespectful dig as though their customers are hopeless wannabes who can't afford their products? or what is that? Then you try to unsubscribe from their incredible flood of spam emails and it just doesn't work, you cant unsubscribe. Again said arrogant C thinks hassling you will make him richer. I'm just never going to use this company on principle.

Delivery 10/10 , Packaging 10/10 , built quality 10/10 however? 2 big thing let this down?
1) you don’t get a option of which way the doors open….
2) Some screws were missing! We connected Sgs customer service’s… Gave them a full description of part number and quantity! At 1st we was told they’ll send some out asap…. A week later nothing had arrived! Contacted them again to be told? Don’t have them in stock anymore here’s a small refund and you get them from must hardware stores
Disappointing
Very poor customer service.
Ordered the SGS 30in Tool Trolley Cart with Lid | 5 Drawers | Black, for my son as his first cart / tool box for the apprenticeship that he has just started.
Tool trolley is great and was really easy to put together.
Delivery was charged at £60 just because we were getting it delivered to Scotland, I checked with a London postcode and the delivery charge would only have been £15.
The delivery was given at the time of order as the following Monday, this was confirmed by the courier by email and on the Sunday evening we received emails and texts from the courier giving the 2 hour time window. On the Monday morning we received notification from the courier that the delivery wouldn’t be happening as SGS-Engineering hadn’t supplied the product to them in time for the delivery.
After numerous emails with customer services, it was obvious they weren’t interested and just stated the delivery is 3-5 days. If that is the case why give a delivery date at time of order and why does the courier confirm the delivery date.
Poor Customer Service
So just purchased their 72 inch box with hutch and added side drawers , or so we thought!
They had this box on for £1799 without the side drawers or for an extra £100 you could add the drawers rrp £299! So a bit of a no brainer,
Spoke to a chap on the phone about the order and delivery etc who sent me an invoice online and I paid immedietley.
3 days later my order arrived with out the side drawers. I called up and they told me i hadnt ordered it with the side drawers and if I wanted to add them they would give me 10% off the new price of £299 as its now not on offer.
I had pleaded with them just to at least honor the original price but said there is nothing they can do (even though they set the price!)
We had also purchased another roll cab and service box in the same week.
The box looks great but feeling robbed of the deal on it and dread to think what happens if anything goes wrong with it. Poor Customer Service
Will not buy again from these.

Poor customer service
Just received a delivery of an order from SGS; an air compressor and a few related parts. Took it out of the box, plugged it in to test and was shocked by the noise it made, 96dB! Given this is twice as much as the identical one my brother bought (49db) from them a few months ago, I decided to return it. However SGS would not accept a return as once it was switched on it must be considered a 'used item'. Really disappointed in the service I received.
Mixed buying experience
I really wanted to be able to leave a more positive review because my experience with SGS started well, but unfortunately the overall process ended up being frustrating and disappointing.
My order was originally scheduled for delivery on 20th November. I stayed home all day, but the courier failed to deliver because—according to SGS’s own written confirmation—the item “was not routed as expected for delivery.” That error set off the chain of problems that followed.
Because the original delivery didn’t happen, the order was rescheduled for the Friday. I accept that I forgot about a personal appointment that morning meaning I would have missed the delivery by around 15 minutes, which I was open and honest about.
But SGS didn’t acknowledge that this situation wouldn’t have arisen at all if the original delivery had taken place as scheduled. Putting all the responsibility on me felt unfair.
Despite presenting the full timeline clearly and even quoting SGS’s own message confirming the courier’s routing error, I was still charged an additional £49.99 redelivery fee. My explanation and evidence didn’t seem to be taken into account, and the blame was placed solely on me.
When the item finally arrived, it was damaged. To SGS’s credit, they did offer a £60 partial refund, which I accepted so I could bring the matter to a close. It was a reasonable gesture, and I appreciated that part of the resolution.
Overall, though, the process felt more difficult than it needed to be. I was required to pay extra for a delivery problem that didn’t start with me, and the customer service tone shifted from helpful to dismissive when I raised this. It’s left me with a mixed impression of SGS — the product itself is good, but the experience getting it was far from smooth
Useless Company
Bought a generator off them, didn't last a year, they wanted me to pay to have it sent back and threatened that if it was a repair not under warranty I will be charged, absolutely useless company, do not buy,

I bought a jetwash from SGS a company I…
I bought a jetwash from SGS a company I have bought from on multiple occasions before and also previously reviewed positively….. BUT…..
on this occasion I can only say they have been exceptionally poor.. the Jetwash arrived with hardly any instructions, and I could not get it to dispense detergent as it was advertised capable of. After a couple of days of trying everything I could think of, I’m very mechanically capable, I gave in and made a customer service enquiry as to wether I had missed something in the operation, a simple request, immediately I was met with requests for order details, then a request for a video of the fault then 2 days of emails asking me to try things I’d already told them I had tried. It all really felt like they trying to put me off!… this culminated in me being told I would have to send the jetwash back to them and warning me that if THEY decided it was not a manufacturing fault I would be liable for unspecified “costs”… so THEY get to decide if I owe them more money to get my purchase back?.. ridiculous who would proceed with the above?.. not me!
SGS if anybody there cares I’m sorry to say this interaction has lost you a previously very happy customer who has purchased from you on multiple occasions since 2018!

Bought new Milwaukee Radio, it doesn't work straight out of box. Less than a week since it arrived and SGS won't collect, keep pushing me to claim warranty and send it to Ireland for repair, and i have to pay delivery etc. ALL THE EXCUSES UNDER THE SUN TO DELAY
Have advised them to collect and i will do a section 75 claim as i paid on credit card.

Terrible service
Terrible service, item was damaged and they would not cover returns cost, be very careful as they will only cover returns on items up to 10KG. Toolboxes are complete chocolate. Customer service is about as useful as a chocolate fire guard.

There was an issue with the website when I tried to order but I sent an email and Marcus replied swiftly to help me out. Delivery was speedy, I ordered at around 4pm and it arrived next day! There was an issue with the item which is not ideal hence the 4 stars but but I spoke to Laura in customer services who helped sort things out.
All good and will return when I need something else for my woman cave :)
Shocking Quality even worse Customer Service
We Bought a SGS 100 Litre Compressor in February this year. It lasted 6 months with minimum use!.
SGS quite frankly couldn't give a toss!
We had to drive 80 miles to get an engineer to look at it. They had it for 2 days and then wrote it off.
They have refused to refund us, send a replacement or even send us the old compressor back. Shocking!

I bought an air compressor for domestic use and it failed after only a few hours use.
Customer care was initially quick but had to jump through several hoops and then they wanted me to pay to return it.
I ended up buying a replacement elsewhere.
I won’t be buying from SGS again
I won’t be buying from SGS again. They have effectively stolen from me. I ordered items that appeared to be in stock but was subsequently told they were not in stock and was offered a refund which I accepted. However, I was then only partially refunded whilst not receiving any of my order and despite chasing SGS for the remainder of the money I paid, they’ve done nothing. I’m now out of pocket and without the items I ordered. Extremely poor.
