Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Reviewers had a great experience with this company. Customers consistently praise the service for its efficiency and the staff for their professionalism and punctuality. Many people highlight the ease of the booking process and the clear communication regarding appointments and progress updates. The fixed-price repair model is frequently mentioned as a reassuring and valuable aspect of the service, often saving customers money compared to alternative options. However, some customers also noted issues with the product and booking process. A few people experienced situations where the initial repair did not fully resolve the problem, requiring multiple visits or leading to an unfixable appliance. There were also instances where appointments were missed without notice or where the company could not provide service in certain advertised areas, causing frustration and wasted time.

Washing machine repair

Washing machine repair - Took 4 visits over 5 weeks which I waited in for all day, one of which they never turned up.
Engineer reassembled machine and said all working fine and ran out of the door-But same fault.
Really terrible service and despicable behaviour to just 'Cut and Run' instead of being a decent person and admitting defeat.
Terrible service - STAY AWAY - DO NOT USE

Efficient repair

We were given progress updates and knew when our engineer would arrive. The engineer fixed the part quickly and efficiently. This is the second time we’ve used Repaircare and Id recommend.

Don't bother

Don't bother. I booked a fridge/freezer repair with them and gave all the details of the unit, including model number and serial number. Their website also said 'book a date for your convenience' so I booked one of the offered dates. The confirmation email even stated 'the engineer will call on the agreed date'.
They presumably then instructed their local agent to attend and on the booked day, but only at lunchtime when I had waited in all morning, he rang me to say that he did not cover my area on that day, but would be with me the next day. Another day wasted and poor customer care.
Despite already having the serial number of the unit, all he did when he did arrive was to open the fridge door and take a photo of the serial number - no exploratory examination or checking of the fridge - and tell me that he would check to see what parts were available. He then left.
Several days later, RepairCare called me to tell me that they would not be repairing the fridge as they could not get parts for it and that they would refund me, less £75 call out.
The unit is less that 10 yrs old, so parts should be available.
I will definitely not use them again. The fridge manufacturer only charge £20 more for the call out and would know what they were doing.

Dear Steve,

Thank you for your review.

We are sorry to hear of the issues experienced.

As listed on our website, 'The fixed price appliance repair fee covers you against the cost of the service engineers call out and an evaluation of your product. This onsite visit will determine whether it is repairable.'

In the section, 'If we cannot fix your appliance or continue with your repair', it states 'The appliance parts are found to be obsolete or if the repair length exceeds 6 weeks from the first visit and we cannot source spares.'

The door required to complete your repair has unfortunately been made obsolete by the manufacturer and no longer available.

As discussed, the T's & C's were available to view which they would have been accepted by making the booking.

Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused.

Kind Regards

Awful

Awful! Booked an engineer to come round and fix our Rangemaster cooker as one oven was cutting out. Paid the £190.00 fee. The engineer arrived, was here for no more than 30 minutes, and then said it was fixed. Next morning, the same problem. I emailed Repaircare. Nothing. I called them twice, took ages, finally got through, and they just told me they would get back to me as they had to speak to the engineer. Took my money fast enough! Now 24 hours later, despite more emails to them, STILL nothing from them. Rubbish service and extremely poor customer service. They HAVE NOT FIXED the problem. I will now take legal action to get my money back. DON'T USE THEM !!

Super efficient

Our engineer was super efficient, confident, knew exactly what to look for and where to find it. He arranged to come back 2 days later with the part which he did and was on his way in half an hour.
The price was reasonable and there were no extras.

The service from this company is…terrible

The service from this company is appalling. An engineer came, spent 5mins with us. Diagnosed the problem and ordered the parts. We are now over three weeks later and I receive no communication from engineer or from Repaircare. When I call them, I get different stories about the delay. The latest is that the ‘part is not in stock’. So I called the manufacturer (Bosch) and the part is most definitely in stock and if I bought it independently, it would be here in 2 working days. Given when the engineer visited, I can only assume that Repaircare is not telling the truth. I am not convinced they want to repair the appliance and if I cancel, they will charge me £75 for the privilege. I have not been able to escalate a complaint because they will not tell me who I can write to, they never call be back to update me on progress or tell me when the part was ordered, who did they order it from etc. I do not trust this company and I would advise anyone not to use them. If Repaircare sees this review, the job number is C6862427

Limbo

Booked a call for a fridge freezer that had stopped working, despite the blurb they could only come 5 days later (17/03). Had to wait in all day because they would only give 10 hour window. Tech arrived, nice guy. He deduced a broken compressor (I had given then the part number in the booking but, of course, he did not have the part). A week later I called to find out why no one had contacted me. After 45 mins waiting I got a service agent who told me the part had been ordered and dispatched. She tried to call the tech but he wasn't answering. It's now 27/03 - still no contact, no service and I am now on the phone to repaircare - again - and have been holding for 15mins +. They finally answered and tried to call the tech again. Waited for another 5mins on hold. They then came back saying they wouldn't attend until 31/03. The contracting company repaircare used state they only cover Kent and Southeast London. I live in north London.
All this time I have been without a fridge/freezer. Next time I'll just buy a new one.
Update: they cancelled the booking for 31/03 and now are supposed to come 09/04. So that's two more days wasted and over a month that I don't have a fridge/freezer.

The service isn't as advertised

Simply not equipped to perform the tasks advertised nationally. Booked a repair for our daughter's home in Dundee, had it confirmed. Booked time off work. Then received a call to advise that they don't cover Dundee. It is often the case that nationally advertised services are not available in Scotland. My irritation is that the system should ensure services that can't be delivered, can't be booked. It's the only fair way. Very poor and of course my message is don't engage with this business if you are in Scotland

Efficient process and excellent engineer

The whole process very efficient from booking to engineer completing repair
On the day engineer texts to update when arrival due at postcode
Fault: Oven not working in cooker
The engineer was very thorough, identified the problem, and suggested a solution which he then carried out, he then tested that all areas of the cooker were working correctly before leaving
He was excellent.
Oven used several times since

We were told our cooker could not be…

We were told our cooker could not be mended because of its age, even though the problem was very small. Repaircare saved us a great deal of money by fixing it in good time. Repaircare can be contacted on line or by phone (which is great as we are older people). Thank you
