Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 67 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Shoppers frequently complained about soaring prices, poor product quality, and finding expired or rotting items directly on the store shelves. People also mentioned dealing with extremely rude employees and unhelpful customer support representatives when attempting to resolve everyday shopping issues. Some reviewers were happy with the convenient online grocery pickup service and considered the overall food selection to be very good. Others also appreciated having clear information about product origins and helpful details when these were properly provided. Despite the widespread frustration, a few individuals still found certain aspects of their routine shopping trips acceptable.

Failed to deliver the product

Failed to deliver the product; contacted customer service and received an automated response stating they were unable to resolve the issue. I was home all day, no doorbell ring, no phone call of cant find your place, no proof of delivery photo. I did not receive the product, and no attempt at delivery was made; they charged me the full amount and customer service did jack shit. I am disputing it with the credit card company now. I would never recommend using them; the customer service is the worst I have ever experienced.

Refused to place a $900 grocery order

Spent 1.5 hours entering a $900 grocery pickup order for a mens ski trip in BC. Their website wouldn't process it "there's a problem with your method of payment".

Called the bank, and confirmed it wasn't getting blocked blocked, the card was valid.

Called RCS Ecom customer service, and got a lot of "sorry" and "nothing we can do but escalate and someone will get back to you in 48 hours".

I need groceries this afternoon, I told them... more 'sorry's', no solution.

It's the middle of a working Wednesday EST, why can't I speak to someone now? "Sorry"

Can I speak to your supervisor? "Sorry.

Ended up having to spend 2 further hours of my vacation physically shopping (somewhere else obviously).

The escalation person called the next day while I was on a ski lift asking me for screenshots and information we had already provided and would have been in the ticket already - I told them it was too late, and they lost the business.

Conclusion: If the RCS website doesn't work, give up. The humans and support process behind it are useless.

Superstore uses DoorDash to deliver…

Superstore uses DoorDash to deliver orders. About 30% of the time, my order is delivered to the wrong place. As a handicapped person I have to order online and get delivery. I specifically give delivery instructions on my order and either the people can't read or they don't care. Superstore only rebates my delivery fee and do not care to do anything about this problem with DoorDash. They should hire their own delivery people or try a different delivery service.

Horrible Cashier and Supervisor

Jan 21, 2025, Store 1520
Jatinder 240 11 3303 14:55
Total $21.29

I had 2 Dawn coupons that Jatinder could not make a decision on and needed a supervisor to consult. I presented a $2 coupon for a Dawn EZ squeeze bottle, when Jatinder, cashier and supervisor would not take it on a Regular EZ bottle. I said ok, take it out. Jatinder did not allow me to get the proper one, but make comments “I told you so, I’m right !”
I replied with, “Correct, you are in the right !”
She did not ask for my Optimum Point membership and I did not hear her ask for the “Deal of the week”. She did not like this and kept saying “I asked you already!”. I then asked her to scan my points card.
I proceeded to pay and then she said “ you want everything for free !” The Dawn coupon was only $2 and would not cover the entire price of the EZ bottle.
After this comment, I left and went to the CS desk to complain. As I was describing the terrible customer service I received, she came up to the desk and started telling her side of the story to another staff member.
The customer behind me in the original checkout lane came up to the CS desk and asked for the Store Manager. He went on to say, after I left the checkout, Jatinder got on the phone and called me an “A-hole” to the front end staff. He asked to speak to Store Manager and she came up to attend to the situation. As he was in a hurry, he told what he had witnessed and relayed the negative interaction and comments to your Store Manager. Later I learned, she was north store manager. Stephen Tam needs to know about this poor poor customer service interaction !
I spoke to the SM after and described the poor interaction with Jatinder.
This cashier (Jatinder) is a terrible representation of your Brand and giving poor customer service that you do not want your loyal customers to be subject to.
Talking back to customers and making negative comments is already poor judgement, but using profanity to call out a loyal customer ???
Absolutely horrible customer service !!

The initial supervisor did help matters, stating I did not get the correct Dawn “Platinum” sku. Offered no solution and walked away. Retailers are reimbursed by vendors for coupons and Vendors encourage them to help promote Sales.

This negative situation is something that needs to be dealt with and I am sure it will be handled in the proper manner.
Jatinder is not an individual that meets your minimum skill sets for front line staff, in my opinion. Further training will not change her poor behavior.

Sincerely, Willie Jang

Food poisoning

The last two times my husband and I purchased pre-made food from the Great Canadian Superstore, we ended up with food poisoning after eating items such as sushi, tacos, and even a ready-to-go whole roasted chicken that turned out to be undercooked when we got home.

We are very disappointed with the lack of quality control and food safety, especially since this has happened more than once. We hope the store takes this seriously and improves its food preparation standards to prevent others from having the same experience.

Online ordering sucks!!

The website for this store is absolutely ridiculous! It's soooo hard to use AND they want to charge me a $1 for picking up my own order AND I need to pick my order up within a narrow 30 minute time frame (that I had to schedule). I'm sorry that it's such a hassle for them to sell me something! Why be in business at all??

Hiring Ai is bugged and spam interview time daily for a month . All of them being unavailable.

I applied for a job . received interview time with Kristy phelan . once chose it says it is unavailable. From there it sent more interview time everyday and every single one of them were unavailable for a month now. I did it about 15-25 times and all of them unavailable. there is just no way to get interviewed . Their ai for hiring is completely bugged and refuse more than a single application as well (not 1 application per location. not 1 per job. it is 1 application total for every single grocery store and job up for hiring.) . Ive never seen anything so unprofessional. Good, if they cant even manage hiring process proprely i cant imagine how badly managed it is overall.

SOUTH SURREY EMBARRASMENT

I have been a customer of SuperStore at 160Street/24 Ave, Surrey for 12 years now.
1. For the last three to four years, I find that the overall management and customer help has gone into dump.
2. Pharmacy service, pharmacist's help and even phone answering by pharmacy is as bad as in a third world country. After being a pharmacy customer there for more than ten years, I have taken my account elsewhere.
3.Men's washroom nowadays usually stays filthy. Health Authorities should check this out.
4. Today, I purchased groceries, I even used my points, paying by PC Financial card. As I was exiting from the inside store door, my trolly stalled in the middle of the doorway. I did not understand what went wrong and thought that the wheels were jammed by dirt or a stone, till a security person approached me and asked me for the receipt. It took me some time to get the receipt out as I had thrown it at the bottom of one of the many bags of groceries. It was embarrassing to block the traffic and face the annoyed, piercing and suspicious eyes of people gazing at me. Since I could not get the receipt out for several minutes, as I was turning my groceries upside down, the guard suspected that I was a thief and went inside the store to get some more help to probably apprehend me. Anyway, in the meantime, I found the receipt. The guard then went back in the store to bring some electronic remote to unfreeze the wheels. I was then allowed to go, without anyone coming to me to apologize or explain to me why I was targeted. Instead an observing Salvation Army fundraising worker told me that it happens quite so often daily. What an eerie feeling and Christmas Shopping experience!
FOR ME SUPERSTORE IS NO SUPERSTORE ANYMORE.

I am submitting a complaint about the…

I am submitting a complaint about the customer service department at the McKnight Westwinds Real Canadian Superstore, with specific concerns about the conduct and management of Customer Service Manager Jayson & Supervisor Paramjeet

The department shows a clear lack of professionalism, poor inter-department communication, and little understanding of customer needs. Customers are often dismissed or not listened to, and the service team appears unprepared to handle even simple requests. Jayson, as the manager, has repeatedly shown weak communication, poor customer-handling skills, and an inability to manage the department effectively. The result is a confusing and stressful customer experience.

The management structure of the customer service area is extremely complex and disorganized, which leads to repeated mistakes and delays. I am requesting a full review of this department and corrective action to ensure customers are treated with respect and proper support.

DENIED POINTS CAUSE I DONT HAVE THE APP -1400.00 BILL

1400.00 BILL. My husband called to advise he was not allowed to collect PC points with his PC card because he must have the APP. He handed the cashier physically the card and was denied. Points are longer accepted on cards. AS PER STORE MANAGER.

The cashier called the store manager who came over and was told they cannot issue points anymore to the barcode cards. Only alllowed by APP because they want to track. What exactly are you tracking?? .

My husbands cell is thru work and no app downloads permitted. .
WHAT NOW??

WASHROOM CLEANLINESS

As far as we are concern, Superstore is a very good grocery store in terms of food items, etc. Our complain pertains the cleanliness of the stores washroom! The store we go to is the one near 24th Avenue & 160th Street in South Surrey. 10-ft. away from the washroom you can smell and feel in your eyes the pungent smell! It was truly HORRIBLE smell to say the least! Needless to say, management has to give an emphasis in cleaning up the washrooms so people would not be discouraged to go to this grocery store!
