The cotton/yak wool has arrived safely. I'm thrilled with the colour and texture. I haven't begun making the toddler sweater yet as my fingernails are dry and splitting from the cold weather here. I have however practised the long tail cast on method which you recommend. It does result in a much neater finish.
I'm making the sweater for a 12 month old and the child is only just 6 months so I have plenty of time.
Can't wait for spring here in NZ so I can get started.

Customer service is top notch and the Linen Quill is beautiful.

I ordered Field Notes because the combination of Sicilian cotton and French hemp sounded interesting. The knotted bag pattern also intrigued me. I cast on right away so I could get a feel for the knitted fabric. Love knitting with Field Notes. It's perfect for a summer project. Also love the color I ordered which is Sea Glass. I plan to order more Field Notes.
