Hi! After over a year of coming to the gym, I attended my first ever classes this week with Hyo (Pilates on Sunday and another today). She was really good, super friendly and kind. she took extra time to encourage me, answer my questions, and make me feel totally at ease. I really enjoyed both sessions! Also, I wanted to mention that the gym floor and changing rooms are always spotless:)
Constantly suspending gym entrance with fully paid account!!! Half of the time I spend trying to regain access to the gym, but they never late to take your money!!!
No chance to contact customer service. Emails replayed by AI, not even close to what being asked!!
Its a disgrace of a gym. One of trainers constantly on "speed" hiding under baseball hat!!!
The rest of them have no idia of what they are doing or asking others to do!!!
It's a joke not a gym!
This is my 4th session, I have another planned for Sunday and then 2 more next week. It's a really friendly atmosphere, staff are always on hand if you need any advice, support or have any questions. There's free flavoured water, or you can buy bottled drinks and snacks from the vending machines. Changing rooms are always spotless, there was a gentleman going around with a hoover during today's session. Equipment is in superb condition, and there are training videos on how to use every piece of equipment on the PureGym app, which makes workouts easy to achieve when on your own.

It’s a gym located in town centre, easy to access 24/7. Big spacious gym with good experience trainers particularly Paul who is quite experienced.

Joining another gym turned out to be a real hassle—my payment was declined four times! I ended up searching for PureGym instead and signed up in minutes with zero problems.
The staff were super friendly, helpful, and welcoming.
The gym was clean and well equipped.

Always a good session at the stowmarket pure gym. Wasn't too busy at 1.30pm and managed to get a full routine in. Equipment is good quality and clean, staff always helpful and friendly. Great Personal Trainers, and I have a couple of PT sessions each month with Jess, who is amazing.

Would avoid PureGym like the plague if I'm honest.
Was pulled aside by the one of the staff at PureGym Livingston and accused of something I hadn't done. When I asked where in the gym, and when, this alleged infringement had happened they couldn't answer. Told me they didn't need to explain that to me.
Raised it with the PureGym complaint department who fobbed me off to their Diversity and Safety (or whatever it's called) department who took some details and swept it under the rug.
Had no apology, no feedback, and now just blanking my emails.
If you want a decent gym shop around, it's worth paying an extra few quid a month for a better gym subscription and you'll get a better quality of service. Highly recommend JD Gyms, for example.
But long story short; avoid PureGym. They're all friendly and smiles on the outside, but as soon as there is an issue they show their true colours. Read all the other 1* reviews and you'll see a pattern.
Service members answered all my queries, got back to me via email within two days and assisted me with up to date information on the App

I checked the off-peak hours in advance of my visit to my local PureGym on the Summer UK Bank Holiday (Monday 31st August 2026).
In the online members dashboard it says that I should be able to access the gym 'All day' on Bank Holidays.
I travelled for 45 minutes to get to the gym, only to be denied access on arrival and have to give up and go home.
I informed customer services about this issue and they still have not issued a refund for this month (as requested), nor have they updated the information on their website, so that this doesn't happen to other members in future.
This 1 star review will remain up until PureGym issue a refund and update their website to show the correct information with regards to Off-Peak access to the gym on Bank Holidays.

It’s just what you’d expect from a good gym. The space is great. The Personal Trainers and Manager are so helpful.

I’m really disappointed with my first experience at the gym today.
I attended the Lift class at 7:10pm on 31 August. This was my first ever session at the gym and I am a complete beginner. Before attending, I checked that the class was suitable for all levels, so I felt comfortable giving it a try.
Before the class started, I told the instructor, who is also a manager , that I was a beginner. I did my best throughout the class and used low weights because I knew I was inexperienced.
What happened afterwards was completely unacceptable.
The instructor told me that I had no experience, that I should get a personal trainer and that I should not come back to his class. He said this in front of another person, which I found extremely humiliating and embarrassing.
I am a paying customer who was attending the gym for the first time. If there was something I needed to improve or something I was doing incorrectly, I would have expected an instructor to explain it to me respectfully and help me learn. Instead, I was made to feel like I had no place in the class simply because I was a beginner.
Under no circumstances should someone trying a gym for the first time be told not to attend a class that is advertised as being suitable for all levels.
I left the gym extremely upset and in tears. What should have been a positive first experience has left me feeling humiliated and questioning whether I even want to continue my membership.
I find the way I was spoken to completely unacceptable. Beginners should be encouraged and supported, not made to feel embarrassed or unwelcome.
I will be raising this formally with the gym because I do not believe this is how a paying customer should be treated.
