Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 4,508 reviews, reviewers overwhelmingly had a great experience with this company. Customers consistently praise the medical staff for being extremely kind, supportive, and thorough during appointments, which successfully helps put anxious individuals completely at ease. Individuals also appreciate the simple online portal and note that the journey from the initial referral right through to diagnosis is remarkably smooth and efficient. However, some people mentioned experiencing frustratingly long delays regarding titration start times alongside slow communication from the administrative team. A few other people also felt that scheduling issues, missed phone calls, and unanswered messages created significant hurdles during their ongoing treatment.

Much improvement needed

My experience withPsych UK has been a little rocky. I had my second diagnosis with them back in September 2025 but had to wait 3 months before I could access titration due to their policy around recreational drug use (I was using cannabis) which is fair. But the way the entire system is set up is failing so many people due to the poor communication between them and the GP. Just to clarify, the GP are also to blame for this system being poor.
At one point I had to spend a whole day calling between both parties, doing their job for them because they clearly cannot manage to adequately care for their patients.
I am now 11 months post diagnosis, and I STILL have to wait 11 more weeks for my medicine. I am late diagnosed, and have never had consistency in my life, just chaos, and to be delayed and poorly cared for especially considering the disorder I am being treated for, is just not acceptable. No wonder there are massive delays, if two professional bodies cannot even send and receive emails effectively between them, what hope is there for them getting on top of this mammoth waiting list?
If I could have changed RTC providers without it affecting my position in the queue, I would have.
Ridiculous service
Major refinement is needed for right to choose services across the board, as it isn't fit for purpose currently.

My Dr was honestly so lovely

My Dr was honestly so lovely. Our conversation flowed. I didn’t feel pressured to say something I didn’t want to say. He made me understand easily. There was no pressure. He validated how I felt. The turn around of being diagnosed to getting the assessment through. Reading the assessment and feeling so validated. The way he wrote his assessment was so articulate. Thank you. So lucky to have had such a positive experience.

Thorough, professional, and compassionate care

I had a wonderful experience with Psychiatry-UK for my ADHD assessment. The psychiatrist created a safe, completely non-judgmental space to discuss my lifelong struggles. The assessment was thorough, and the doctor was incredibly patient. Receiving my diagnosis has brought me so much peace of mind. I highly recommend their services to any adult looking for clarity and professional support.

First class service

First class service from start to finish. Time from referral to diagnosis was surprisingly prompt, given the current demand for assessment. Pre-consultation paperwork was extensive and well designed. All the professionals I encountered were sensitive, thorough and responsive. They had clearly taken time to read my completed questionnaires, and referenced them throughout the assessment. I felt seen, heard, and understood. This has been a very positive experience for me. I would recommend this service to anyone exploring their possible neurodivergent behaviours. I can't fault my experience. Thank you.

Poor assessment. Feel incredibly let down

Thank you for responding to my feedback. I appreciate you acknowledging how upset and let down I felt following my assessment.

However, my concern is not simply that I was unhappy with the outcome. I am concerned that I was not properly assessed in the first place.

I went into the assessment feeling incredibly hopeful that I might finally understand difficulties I have experienced for much of my life. Instead, I felt the assessment focused heavily on whether I forget things. While I understand that forgetfulness can be relevant to ADHD, I feel the wider picture of how I function was not explored.

There are many significant difficulties I experience that were not properly discussed, including:

* Impulsivity, being scatty and disorganised.
* Becoming easily overwhelmed by household clutter, life admin and having several tasks to manage.
* Struggling to concentrate, starting one task and moving onto another without completing the first.
* Persistent racing thoughts, internal restlessness and feeling constantly “on” or on edge, rather than obvious physical hyperactivity.
* Difficulty relaxing because my mind is constantly active.
* Emotional overwhelm, intense reactions to frustration, mood fluctuations and rejection sensitivity.
* Talking excessively, interrupting or coming into conversations with personal experiences.
* Sensory overload and significant irritation from noise and lighting.
* Frustrated
* People-pleasing and difficulty saying no due to fear of disappointing people.
* overworking and Perfectionism for feeling internally disorganised.
* Daily Mental and physical exhaustion and burnout from constantly compensating and masking.
* Low self-esteem and feeling that I am lazy or failing despite working extremely hard to cope.
* Daily overwhelm, over stimulated, to noise and light
These difficulties have a significant impact on my everyday life, but many are hidden by the coping mechanisms I have developed.

For example, I can appear organised and punctual because I over-prepare, arrive very early, triple-check things and try to control every detail. If I have a 1pm appointment, I may start preparing hours beforehand and leave much earlier than necessary because being late causes me significant anxiety. From the outside, this can look like I am managing well, but the mental effort and exhaustion involved are not visible.

Similarly, at home I can become overwhelmed by multiple tasks, start one thing, remember another, switch to it and then struggle to finish anything. This can leave me feeling completely overwhelmed while still appearing as though I am functioning normally.

I therefore feel that masking and compensatory behaviours were not adequately considered during my assessment.

I also remain concerned about the conclusion that anxiety may explain my difficulties. I accept that anxiety may be part of my experience and that symptoms can overlap, but I do not feel anxiety alone explains the wider and longstanding pattern of difficulties I experience. I also do not feel the possibility of ADHD alongside anxiety was sufficiently explored.

I am not asking for an ADHD diagnosis simply because I believe I have ADHD. I understand that an assessment must be objective and that I may not meet the diagnostic criteria. What I am asking for is confidence that the conclusion was reached after a thorough assessment of the full picture.

My concern is particularly significant because this was a one-hour assessment, and I do not feel that enough time was spent exploring the broader range of symptoms, their impact on my life, my coping mechanisms and the possibility of masking.

Your response says that everyone should feel listened to and given the opportunity to fully explain their experiences. I appreciate that, but an apology does not address my concern about the assessment itself or tell me what happens next.

Could you please explain:

* Can my assessment be reviewed or supplemented?
* Can I provide additional information about symptoms and difficulties that were not explored?
* Is there a formal process for requesting a review or further assessment?
* Can my coping mechanisms and possible masking be considered as part of that review?
* If anxiety remains the explanation rather than ADHD, can you explain how that conclusion was reached and how the wider symptoms I have described were considered?

I would really appreciate a practical response rather than simply another apology. I went into this process hopeful that I might finally understand myself, and I have instead come away feeling confused, alone and let down.

I am asking for the opportunity to have the areas I feel were missed properly considered, and for a clear explanation of what options are available to me.

This company is very dodgy

This company is very dodgy. I have been waiting for titrition and I have reached the top of the waiting list. I was diagnosed with ADHD, but I was never provided the outcome letter still a year later. I contacted once I reached the top of the waiting list and I was told they were looking for a clinician for me. I filled in every form sent then one day which is today my account was deleted after receiving an email that a note was put on my file. This vile company has caused me nothing but stress. If you are on right to choose do not choose pschiatry UK.

A mess with little regard for patients

The way the whole system is set-up is that if you manage to get an assessment with them you probable don't have ADHD. You have to jump through so many hoops, fill out so many form, talk to many disinterested people and if you miss something they just drop you right away so you have to start the whole process again. You NEED to own a phone to use this service so do not lose it at any point because you'll need a new referral by the time you can access your account again. There's no information on what's happening while you are waiting to be assessed. I wouldn't use these guys again if you paid me.

The live chat is a joke and marks your case as solved before even checking they've helped. The person I spoke to told me to use a different service and then sent me a generic email and closed the case.
